  1. What a sound bite! You should write for coaches/politicians. A reply to that might look like this-----The strongest and fastest team around can still be beaten by a poor game plan and mismanagement of talent. The "journey' continues as does the battle of the sound bites now, I suppose.
  2. Lifting and strength training aside, I'd much more prefer a strong game plan and coaching staff that works and achieves wins. Just a thought. Strength is a good thing, using it wisely: priceless!
  3. Dalton is a great player and works hard, but has the unhappy luck to rarely play many downs without injury. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Drew Kelly. Is he not getting pumped?
  4. As I said on another post, do you even know any of these players? Yes, Thomas Berry worked hard (always has) but so did Tk Holmes, Taylor Dixon, Nick Smith, Taylor Adams, Josh Baily, Terrone Sheppard....Are you saying these guys who have played together since middle school (and as freshmen 3 games a week) didn't work hard? Or could it just have been the narrow mindedness of the unchanging transparent game plan that led to last years meltdown? Wake up already before it's too late and remind someone that one of the best things a coach can do is listen.
  5. Or maybe #7 can play their positions too. Win with the stars! Works, right? Just look at last year.
  6. Maybe they're taking the astrological path to victory. They do seem to believe in the 'stars'.
  7. Maybe the poor soul just woke up to reality. It can be a shock, I'm sure.
  8. None of the Seniors cared about him or the team? Do you even know any of those kids? Those Seniors played three games a week together as Freshman and continued to add to the stength of the team year after year. What happened last year? Open your eyes. A one dimensional transparent offense and an unwillingness to change for the teams sake may bring high statistics for specific players but does not result in wins or a strong belief in team coaching. I hope for the sake of the team things will be different this year, but I wouldn't count on it. That would mean someone or something was wrong last year. And where are all of the coaches this year? Hmmmm. Tell you anything?
  9. Isn't the head coach at Indy relatively 'new'? And again, what happened with the Asst. coaches? Who was 'run' off by whom and why? Inquiring minds want to know. Perhaps the 'new' administration has more of an interest in the football program than the old one did. As I understand it, the new principle also was involved in the football program at FHS when he was there. I imagine, if this is the case, he has some ideas of his own on how things are or are not developing/working. Just some thoughts.
  10. Good questions and observations. Who was run off and why? Any answers to these questions out there?
  11. Best explanation I've seen yet on what a head football coach in high school should be doing to help his kids and his program. It seems as though this involves more work than most coaches are willing to do. (But they all expect their kids to put forth 100% now don't they?) Set the example coaches and maybe your kids will work just as hard. A thought.
  12. Take care there, you may disturb some with this type of observation.
  13. Josh Baily? Taylor Dixon? These names ring any bells? They had running backs and decided that they weren't talented enough. And what happened? A one-dimensional transparant game plan that eveyone out there could prepare for and shut down, Indyhater? No way! I'm ashamed of the loss of oportunity for many a talented player on that team due to either short sightedness, hard headedness, or just plain stupidity. That team had the potential to go all the way. Indyhater? Not here. Simply an observer whose opinions seem to rankle the more rabid banwagoners here. Well, at least it'll give ya'll something to focus your frustrations on rather than examining the facts and asking what happened and what can be done to fix it. It seems as though there are some people still interested in seeing Indy win (myself included) and that's a good thing. Now, maybe there might be some intellegent ideas/opinions on what can be done to fix things on the field instead of blind alliegence to the staus quo. Let's hope so for the sake of the boys who have to play based on the decisions that are made and live with the consequences.
  14. It would have been nice if he could have shared some of that inspirational rhetoric with his team at halftime during the state championship game; but as I understand it, he didn't even pay them a visit. "Lead, follow or get out of the way"? Please! It starts at the top. Practice what you preach. Improve through critical analysis? God forbid! Such blind loyalty and obedient submissiveness. I bow to the cows!
  15. Good to see the bandwagoners haven't totally run off. Enjoy yourselves and continue to defend to the end.
  16. Any word on other signees, interested colleges, etc.? If they get as much support from the coaching staff as was demonstrated last year during recruiting season ( and again, why should anything change?) these kids are basically on their own after the season is over. Good luck kids and keep in touch! Remember all the help you received from your HS coaches to realize your dreams of playing on Saturdays and be sure to give back with the same self-sacrificing generosity that they have demonstrated for you. Yeah, right!
  17. And they had running backs and other players capable of contributing if they would have changed their mindset last year as well. As you say, the rest of the region could see this and took full advantage of it all year long. If it wasn't changed last year, when they had the talent to do something about it with, what makes you thnk it will change this year? That talent was wasted and is now long gone. As I've said earlier, I'm afraid it's going to be a loooooong, looooooong, season for Indy and I don't see the annointed ones lasting too long. There is some good talent rising from the middle school but that is going to take a while to mature. In the meantime............Oh well.
  18. Looks to me like the wagons have unbanded and took to the hills on this topic. Wonder why?
  19. I agree with the common assesment on Kelly-the kid is awesome and will continue to get better. However, even he can't play both ways all the time. And Burge is good when he is healthy, or not gassed, which is not to often that I've seen. Aside from that, what kind of help can they expect in the trenches where it is needed? And why on earth would Eubanks consider the DC position? It seems to me he has had enough trouble making decisions as the head coach. You want him to do more?
  20. Sorry, I don't own the same set of rose colored glasses that whoever has been posting owns. I'm afraid they are in for a loooooong, loooong, and rough year(s) ahead. Hope I'm wrong but don't think I am. Do you know how much talent they lost this year? Maybe not, as most of it was rarely mentioned aside from the chosen few. And we saw how that worked last year. Does anyone seriously think it will get better? If so, I'd love to hear the reasoning.
  21. I believe they still have a shot at the playoffs if they continue to come together as a team. I saw alot of things last night that looked good. I'm still hopefull. But, then again, that's just my opinion.
