David Brainerd is the team to beat, no question about it. They can hit, run, field, pitch, and catch better then any team in 5A. They kicked our tails last night and we are a respectable team. So you are hearing it on here first, DB winners of 5A without a question.

I can tell you what happened last night to Grace. I was there watching the SD/Grace game before Temple played and SD came ready to play and hit the ball very well.

Good article in today's Chattanooga paper about Brooks Thedford and the David Brainerd Wildcats baseball team. They were 0-10 last year and now are the District 5A Champions. Congratulations to D.B. but you better bring your A game to the tournament. Grace is no joke! TEMPLE4LIFE

You might of earned respect beating Grace but you cant seriously be wanting credit for beating SD. Come on man, SD has not had a winning season since the dark ages so dont be all excited about whipping their tails.

Grace did beat us last night but Grace is not that good this year. It wouldnt surprise me if they dont make it to region this year. Wallace is the only player that has any talent!

Daniel Green is prob one of the top trumpet playing in Tennessee. He is from Powell High School in Knoxville.

naw duh sherlock holmes OHS's freshmen could beat Silverdale's freshmen. Where did OHS even get brought up? DB was bragging about their win and they deserve to talk about it cause they put a spanking on Grace last week. Apparentlly Iroot4vols is from Grace. Grace is no where as good as they were the last two years. I don't think this is Grace's year in 5A. Im just stating my opinion.

Anyone have any info on Silverdale? I saw where they beat Copper Basin last night 13-6.

I saw that in the paper this morning. It surprised me big time. I know what you mean when you say you have heard that everyone is saying how easy Grace will roll in district 5A. David Brainerd has proven everyone up and know they look like a fool. Our game got rained out against Silverdale yesterday so we didnt get an easy win. I was ready to play and Coach Marcum wanted to beat his old team.

Temple Academy might be getting a band to play at football games. They will be the only 5a team with a band at football games. Congrats to Temple and for their growth in the music department.

apparently you have not seen Temple play this year. You can not judge a ball team if you have not seen them this year. Once you have seen us and you are not impressed then you can say we stink but until then you can not bash us. Thanks

I agree. That's why I was making fun of him. He says they are going to beat us, but they never do. Even last year we beat them in the district tournament and he was so mad. LOL

I have a friend from church who plays 3rd base for Silverdale. He has been trying to get me to come watch a game so I finally did. They played Howard tonight and it was ugly. They won 24-3 and 12-2. Watch out for SBA. LOL

Did Grace really hang with Walker Valley? Should teams in 1a be scared? Hanging with WV is impressive.

Temple is going to make it to state in Tennis. We have this girl named Brittany that has been offered by Kansas. so she will carry the team....

I agree with you 100%. I am not from Grace but I do respect their program.

That's my point ... we (single A schools) play up to make us better. Oh and yes we (temple) are better at basketball and I'm not going to be sorry for that. hehe

Prediction: Grace will win their division AGAIN because they play harder teams in the beginning of the year. I hate when people slam Single A teams for losing to AA and AAA schools. Good for them for playing a hard schedule.

I know it's in Georgia but has anyone seen Ridgeland's stadium? It's an awesome ball park to play in! And for what it's worth, I love Engel just for the history and tradition. With a little work, it could be back to the top venue in Chattanooga! Spring Fling Baby! LOL

You don't have faith in Coach Marcum! Why do you think Marcum left Silverdale?? cause they are Grace and Temple wanna bes. Ruston Pierce left silverdale also. There are no baseball athletes at SA anymore. They all graduated in 2006. Marcum played the cards right and left at the perfect time to step in as head football, basketball, and baseball coach. Before you assume what you are going too ... He got the job b/c he was the best fit for Temple athletics not b/c of his daddy.

Green Acres.... you are clueless about high school basketball and clueless about Temple athletics.. Coach Marcum is the man! He did a great job in the basketball season and is already proving himself of being a great baseball coach here at Temple. He will put Temple football, basketball, and baseball back on the map... He played college basketball and baseball and really knows his stuff. I respect him for the way he has handled all of the drama and crap that he came into. P.S. Sexton is Mr. Basketball in 09!!!!
