I had the pleasure of watching some amazing pitching performances by Hailey at the ASA Nationals in Seattle. I loved your pink cleats. She is a fine young lady with great parents and our family wishes her all the best in all her future endeavors. Its been a pleasure. Good Luck Hailey
  4. Will you be the one with the wet hair under your cap? /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  5. You probably don't realize how right you are......
  6. I agree that these ladies are excellent players that made the MTSCA team. Been watching most of them play in the summer since before they were 10 years old. Were there any other schools that were members of the MTSCA that had canidates on their teams. You would think that it would be more distributed instead of looking like the Riverdale/Mt. Juliet connection. I am pretty sure that I have seen many more excellent players from other schools that could and do play this "blue chip" ball. Not taking a thing away from any of the listed players, they are good, no doubt. No offense, but this is a real head scratcher. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  7. Little man, your teams first order of business is to make it by Lawrence County tomorrow night or it may not be no fling for you.
  8. If this is true, this may be the reason why you never see some very good players picked for these teams. What a shame. Thanks.
  9. MNIA, sorry but you missed 2 big games tonight and 7AAA is gone. As they say: It Happens............any team on any day, thats why we play the game.
  10. Are you sure? It seems the game would be played at Coffee County.
  11. Hey, the fun is not over yet, theres still a lot of ball to be played. Best of luck to Coffee Co. and Lawrence Co, they will make district 8AAA proud. MKIA, keep up the good work. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  12. Lawrence County played as good of a ball game as I've seen from any team, there is no denying that . If they play as good tomorrow CC will have their hands full. Good Luck to both teams as they go on to the region.
  13. I will wear mine if you will wear yours also. Where will you be at? I will buy you a coke after your game. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  14. Yes sir, I understand about how the all-district awards are given, but is there any precedent on the MVP award. The pitcher of the year is pretty straightforward. What is your districts criteria for the MVP? BTW...is your team playing today?
  15. Exactly what I was thinking....how is that possible?
  16. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know exactly how an MVP is picked and what criteria is used within any district? Do all the district coaches have a fair and equal vote on it? What statistics does it include? Is batting average, on base percentage, sacrifice bunts/flys, RBI's, fielding percentage, and stolen bases taken into account? This could also include leadership on the field as well. What about all the great defensive and offensive plays made over the course of a regular season? How are those tracked? I know that throughout the season spectators, parents, and coaches witness a lot of great plays made by many players on all the teams, but are these feats taken into account? In every district there is no doubt many outstanding players that are technically and tactfully sound which makes choosing one single outstanding player a very difficult and painstaking task at best. From what I have seen, district 8AAA has been blessed with a windfall of talented young ladies who have not only learned the game well throughout their years of playing, but are a credit to their coaches, parents, schools and community in their everyday life situations and the way they conduct themselves on and off the field. Be proud of all your players. Good luck to all and enjoy the rest of the season.
  17. Saturday would have been a better than average day to play ball and any high school field could have been worked in playable condition barring any additional rain during the day which was not a problem. Whatever the reasoning for suspending games until Monday does not matter now. The teams must play them during the school week and possibly Saturday without forcing any additional unjust back to back games on any teams( hopefully be finished before Mothers Day). Lets just look at this schedule management decision as poor indecrection on someones part and hope that it was not some kind of ploy to seek any additional advantage in some way. Have a nice week at the district tournament. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  18. This senario does make one question the legitimacy of what may be going on. Probably nothing to it, but it sure looks squirrely. BTW, who makes the decision on the weather related game changes, makeup dates, ect and who approves it. Maybe the tournament host will chime in and clarify the changes.
  19. Just curious, is MrKnowItAll planning on attending the district games in Columbia on Saturday?
  20. If I were Shelbyville, I'd worry about getting by Coffee Co. not once but twice before I started planning the playoffs. If CC plays as tough as they did last night, it just may take more than a lucky swat or bobbled ball to win those games. Right now I can see it coming down to the final 2 reg. season games before anyone can claim any fame. Of course it still depends on who wins or loses. Should make the next 2 weeks interesting. Good luck to all.
  21. Congrats to both of them. They both added to the victory..
  22. From the way it sounded on the radio they were playing excellent ball tonight. Kristen pitched a good game and the bats were hot, as well as a solid defense. The way they are playing I'd wouldn't want to face them this next week. They are hot as a $2 pistol on Saturday night. Good job ladies.
  23. Word on the street is he will not have his #2 pitcher there along with a bunch of other girls due to prior commitments. Sounds like MrNoItAll has a little more information than what he is telling us. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> This guy is a walking library of vast softball knowledge and information. He sure earns his pay everyday. See you tomorrow. Remember, I'm buying. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
