  1. BA did own the line of scrimmage with their offensive line. BA's D-line was not effective rushing the passer, and let's face it, if you were there it was obvious that was the IHS game plan, put it in the air. BA's D-line should be given credit for the taking the run game away from IHS. BA's kicking game was the big difference in the game. The outstanding player for BA on Friday night was their punter. He is truly a weapon.
  2. BA's punter was terrific. He kicks like that all year, he'll be playing on Saturday some day.
  3. Last nights game was a big test for IHS, and you would have to give them a passing grade. The O-line was outstanding against a very athletic D-line from BA. For the most part BA rushed only 4, but when they did blitz Indy picked them up. Allowing no sacks when the defense knew you were passing was impressive. The outcome could have easily gone the other way. Indy left some plays out there with a couple drops, and missed connections. Indy first play from scrimmage had touchdown written all over it. Receiver had beaten defense by at least 3 yards, but ball was a little too long. The other missed oppurtunity came at the end of the first half. BA tried a pass to the right corner of the end zone, but the ball was thrown short. The Indy db had an easy pick with nothing but green in front of him, but failed to make the catch. BA kicked a field goal on the next play to end the half. Half time score was 17-7, but could have easily been 14-14. Indy's d-line play must improve. Tackling was also an issue in the game for IHS. BA running backs ran through way too many tackles. Coach Eubanks being a defensive coach could not have been happy. Indy will win their share of games this year. BA showed they can win a tough game, but are vulnerable to a deep passing game. Though they did have 4 INTs, 2 should have been caught, and one was in desperation time with only a minute left in the game. Indy will need a running game.
  4. I agree. I attended this game and Indy was completely over matched, especially on the line. This is the one game Crockett was the qb and he was awful. Held the ball too long, even though he was not getting much protection. BA's big back shredded the Indy defense.
  5. Scrimmage was moved to Thursday, Aug.14.
  6. Amen to that! Indy will play hard, and by mid-season, teams will not want to play them.
  7. 4 starters graduated, and the other transferred. First two girls off the bench from last year are gone too. Uphill battle is in store, but youth can surprise you.
  8. Alyssa Kildgore, she played well last year.

  10. Okay, Nick's throwing mechanics are awesome, and he always looks good warming up Heckman.

  12. Thanks Coach, I'll give TSSAA a call on Monday for the final word. Good luck this year!
  13. Hi Coach. I was looking on the TSSAA site and could not find any info on the Aug. 19th date for the beginning of conditioning and open gyms. Am I just missing it, or is this info only available to the coaching community? Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Trouble with the fall league is rules limiting how many players can play with the high school coach. Indy will be counting on some freshmen players stepping up. Because of the timing of the coaching change, Coach Reed has only been able to work with the team on conditioning. She will not get to see them touch a ball until September. I think TSSAA rules allow open gyms beginning sometime in Sept. Could use some help on clarification of the open gym rule.
  15. He is walking on at Tennessee. Any one know how he is doing? Tennessee's first scrimmage is today.
  16. How did the running game look? How many backs will they use? Are they still using their version of the spread offense?
  17. What's the news from the IHS vs LaVergne scrimmage Thursday night?
  18. hey PH, thought you were stuck on the volleyball board! You are right about HM, she is one of the best post coaches around. She never had great post talent at IHS, but still made post play an integral part of the game.
  19. Lott is a quick, tenacious guard that does all the little things that makes a coach smile. I think the other girl you are talking about is Lanning, her sister led Riverdale to the championship in 06-07.
  20. Players like Haislip make everyone better, just by providing confidence. Even with her they would still be lacking in the post. The loss of Ashley Lott can not be ignored, she too would have helped. Look for those two names in the Riverdale box scores, they will be prominent.
  21. Too soon to tell. They have not even had their official tryouts. With no seniors and lacking a true post player, they will have their challenges. Young teams can surprise, especially with external expectations so low.
  22. Come on sleeper, you aren't still holding to the notion of Smith being the starting QB are you?
  23. Coach Reed and AD Jones get their announcement in Thursday's Tennessean sport page. Go Eagles!
  24. What are you referring to when you say "paid players"?
