  1. Typical Montgomery County, heard coach hood was overlooked again. Does this school not get it? Been gone for a year and come back to this. Why would anyone want their child playing for this school? My neighbor's son and friend have left to another school, and both played under Shrenk. Told me that it was not Shrenk, but the administration played a big roll in them leaving. What is going on in Montgomery County?
  2. I want to say thank you for the opportunity to talk to everyone this past week. My unit is going to ship out this week, back to Iraq. Should be back in September or October to continue to see how Clarksville Schools are doing. Good luck to everyone! Since my son plays at Fort Campbell, I will miss the Jamboree where the Falcons will meet Kenwood and Clarksville High. That will be a treat, but i get a copy of the game. Last, since this is a Northeast topic, I went to watch the scrimmage and my neighbor's child last night. He played the LB spot pretty well. The defense looked strong up front and in the Middle, but the DB's need much work. #2 on the offense was the best offensive player making 3 circus catches for over 40 yards combined. I saw that the starting QB was hit in the 2nd quarter and was injured pretty bad. Mr. Pride told me that the Sutherland believed that the QB broke his upper arm. What a shame to happen in a scrimmage! The offensive line needs a lot of work in my opinion, and it seems as if the offense did not ever get going all evening. There was a difference in the ways the defense responded to Sutherland compared to the way the offensive players responded to the offense coach. Northeast should run basic offensive plays if they want to be successful. Good luck Darnel in your senior year, and I will see everyone in the Fall when i come home. Fall football will be a reason i come along with my wife and family. Thank you again for giving me sometime to have fun talking this past week. I will think about all of you while i am flying my Black Night into battle!
  3. Obviously you have resentment, but i am a parent at Fort Campbell and leave for Iraq in a few days. My neighbor is on the team, he broke his collar bone last year, and talks highly of this gentleman. He also tells me about how negative the old head coach use to talk to the boys. My friend that coaches only talks to me about Coach Sutherland. So I guess I apologize for not spelling his name correctly. Could you please spell it right for me?
  4. Ok, not sure what that statement means! Maybe the ones that were back stabbed should man up and talk to the man. I do believe that is what men do. As for me back stabbing, only in war against the enemy. Sorry, not your man you referring to. However, talk to the man!
  5. If people were to rank the schools in Clarksville how would you rank them. This is my opinion: Clarksville High Fort Campbell Kenwood Rossview Northeast Clarksville Academy Northwest Montgomery Central
  6. Why does everyone think Coach Sutherland or any former coaches that were on that staff are not highly qualified coaches? They must be highly qualified to teach, so why are they not highly qualified to coach?
  7. Call it what you will, but Fort Campbell does not have the same issues as Montgomery County. If I were an athlete with a father in the military, I would want to go play for a consistant winning program. Do you blame the boys? Look what we have playing on Saturdays yearly! For Kenwood, I have seen you coach and wondered why you did not apply for the coaching job at Northeast. I remember when you had the Lumpkin boy. Plus your defense is good year in and out. Wish you and the Falcons would go at it for a real game. A Fort Campbell coach told me last night that APSU had attended a practice yesterday at Northeast and the Scout was greatly impressed. Coach mentioned that the nose guard is a beast and so are two LB's. My buddy dropped by to see his buddy sutherland on Monday. So why do they not hire this man?
  8. We moved to Fort Campbell last year before I left for Iraq. Was on the housing list for about 8 months, and that aloud my son to transfer to Fort Campbell. So we no longer live in Clarksville. With all the issues of violence in the Clarksville community, we decided to move to base where there are little to no issues. Plus Coach Berner and his staff are class acts, and i wanted to see my child play in a quality program. Benefits of being military. My child is in a school, Fort Campbell High, that instills discipline and academics and athletics. The high school plays 8-12 grade.
  9. Agree and disagree! Agree: Montgomery county middle school football is a joke. My boy played for New Providence middle and it is truly ran by fathers that know nothing about the game. He had a linemen running the ball, the boys did not have a blocking scheme, and many of the parents called it pay to play. Half the boys on that team were very talented, but were more in touch with being wanna be gang bangers that failed the eighth grade. Montgomery County looses too many athletes for there is no grade requirements to play middle school pop warner football. Trust me it is a joke, and that is why my son plays for Fort Campbell High School. Disagree: I believe the turn in Kentucky from Basketball has made it's point. From high school to the college level. Kentucky has won the last 2 state vs. state games. Kentucky college programs are becoming a success. Kentucky has had two winning seasons, Western has won a championship before moving to D-1, Eastern Kentucky was ranked last year, Louisville is a parenial power in the nation, and Georgetown in Lexington has won several championships in their division. What has Tennessee done? Complain about Fulmer yearly, and isn't UT, Memphis, Vandy, and MTSU basketball the leader in Sports in Tennessee Now. Women's National Champs, Memphis was a Finalist, UT is a yearly Pearl Power, MTSU women are strong in the Sun Belt, even APSU is leading the OVC year in and Out. So, Tennessee is a football state! Think the tides are turning in Tennessee from football to basketball. Don't get me wrong, but Kentucky football is becoming fun to watch and exciting to the Kentucky native. My son now has a ring from Fort Campbell, Kentucky. I am glad we made the move! Maybe Montgomery County needs to see what they have done, and we can see a change from basketball to football. Final: Looking at the Montgomery County Web site job listings and you will laugh. Northwest has Lost a legend to murder, saw a great coach leave after taking his wife's life, and has lost the new basketball coach, cooper may leave Northeast, Northeast football has an opening, Montgomery Central has a football coach Opening, Northeast needs an entire staff, Kenwood is looking for their 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years, Northwest is looking for a staff, and the list goes on and on. The major problem with Montgomery County is one word, Consistancy! Who wants to work in a county with all these problems year in and out.
  10. How is Franklin looking? Coach Clayton is the gentleman that was once from Hopkinsville I believe. If so he is a great coach, and will always have good teams.
  11. Yes, it is an embarrassment, but we are not in their shoes. It is to my knowledge that the administration has been changed the past few months. With change come new ideas, and maybe, just maybe the new principal wants something totally different than what was offered earlier. Why is the current coaches not being considered? You may not like him, but sutherland and the dad crew has kept the team together threw all this mess. So what is everyones problem with him. Would you have remained loyal to the boys even when you know that you may not be back? Good luck guys, and see you on Saturday night! Question: Why do all the quality coaches leave Clarksville? My Answer: Could it be no respect or support? The talent is here, but why chase off the home town guys?
  12. job posted 11/28/07 what is the hold up?
  13. So you are telling me that a physical education program that is ran correctly does not have the same time as a regular education teacher? Too many physical education teachers throw out the ball, however, there are many that actually teach life lessons, drug prevention, wellness, nutrition, character education, and the human anatomy. I believe that a true physical educator should do these things. However, we are in a society were many are just plain lazy and drawl a supplement. The county should send those teachers packing, or hold them accountable. Then again, if this happened, you would not have high quality coaches working in the system due to the lack of time they would have to spend with football. I commend Northeast for wanting to hire a teacher since education should be first, however, our society is too worried about AAU and Non School related athletics. These sports do not have a grade requirement, and does not teach life lessons. However, I thought we were supposed to worry about our children's educational future first and not their athletic futures. Only 1 of 100 athletes will play college ball, and 1 in 1000 will have an opportunity to attend a combine. So Northeast is doing what they believe is the right thing.
  14. talked to my neighbor today and he told me that all is good with APSU visiting Northeast tomorrow and Lambuth will be at the Whites Creek Scrimmage. The man you refer to is Richard McWhorter I think. Think I saw him ref a game last year when Northwest played Henry County at Northeast. That was strange having Northwest play at Northeast. Heard that Mr. McWhorter set up the game there and ref it too. Isn't this a conflict of interest refing the teams that you are in charge of in your county? Guess those gentlemen are doing a good job motivating the boys.
  15. I read the same, guess Northeast will have the smartest team then!
  16. One of the Fort Campbell coaches was offered the job, but he turned it down due to the pay. Kentucky pays so much more than Tennessee. Plus he felt it is too much of a bad situation to enter a program that has been without a head coach since November.
  17. ok then! think what you may! a few coaches at fort campbell are good friends of mine, and my neighbor plays for northeast. he would fit right at home in falcon country, but believes things will be better this year. it is nice to see whistles with dads coaching instead of no one helping them at all. found out that the scrimmage on saturday is an inter squad scrimmage at 5:00. the whites creek game will be next friday at whites creek at 5:30. i guess we can see how horrible they will be next week. i remember when fort campbell was a team that use to be home coming games. they are now the state champions. portland use to be a power house, but now they are down. stratford use to be feared by teams in the state, but now cannot find a win. my point is that any year anyone can be a winner. every one deserves a chance and to answer your question about dropping the program. Montgomery County as disfunctional as it may be will not drop football from one school and not others. it is all or non in this town. that is why i love the falcons of fort campbell. clarksville high use to be a bottom feeder, but now are eating healthy year in and out. so teams can change, it just takes good coaching. granted, the coaching pool at northeast is sub par. i guess no matter how anyone thinks of sutherland and the father squad, i give them respect for setting asside their own self interest to be there for the players. would you do the same thing? where are the other coaches from last season? why did they leave?
  18. from a voice that coaches at fort campbell, the spring roster has about 98 players. sutherland will not allow track or baseball out for the spring. that is leaving them with 50+ in the spring. the others are in spring sports. not to shabby for montgomery county. guess we all may have to travel to whites creek. does anyone have that starting time. i will ask my buddy from fort campbell later today.
  19. from a source at fort campbell whom attended a practice last week, told me that there are about 50 boys practicing daily. northeast has an inter squad scrimmage on saturday, and a scrimmage at whites creek next friday. before we count the eagles out lets see them scrimmage. how do they scrimmage without a head coach? heard coach sutherland is leading, and has some gentlemen helping. maybe things are not that bad at northeast.
