  1. Does anyone know if this game is going to be on the radio anywhere tonight? Thanks
  2. Yea, I always get these schools confused with each other?
  3. Denial is the reason things will never change and the mass exodus will continue. Enough people have been fooled by this myth to fill 6 Private schools and the entire community of Medina?
  4. Maybe I missed it but exactly what is an embarassment to the Ed Dept. in Madison County. Not trying to start anything, just need it clarified. Thanks.
  5. I still disagree on your point that it was best for ALL. Football has been a pleasant surprise, so far, yet the tough ones still remain. Baseball will not, and should not, ever care which class they are in. There is still no way that staying in D1AA in that proposed district was the best situation for the BB team. Still may not win a game in D2, yet it will be against schools the same size with a couple added scholarship (sorry, aide) studs, and not against schools 3 to 4 times the enrollment that you were unwillingly thrown against. I guess, in hind sight, I've had a burr over the multiplier since day one. My support for pulling out and going D2 was possibly biased based on principle alone. Taking my ball and going home.
  6. Everyone has known that the discussions were on-going relating to the decision of "the jump".....the biggest gripe I had in addition to having no voice, was not being able to find out any information whatsoever as to which way we were leaning or when a decision would be made, etc. I know an email was sent out, yet I actually heard about the decision in the stands at the Humboldt game. Although I think you and I would have been opposed in our own biased explanations of which way to go.........I, like you, would have at least like to have been heard. As I said before, with proposed district of Liberty, Bolivar, North Side, Lexington, etc..........BB ran the risk of not winning a game for 4 years. As for being able to compete, I think there IS one district we could compete in.....that's the 1A one we were in before the multiplier. As with VB, the boys are young, yet do have a chance in a couple of years to be respectable......just not in D1AA. I've only got three more years of this, so in my opion, financial aide atheletes probably will not be a factor in my situation, yet for generations to come, it will be interesting to see how all of that pans out. You know as well as I do, that if kids come in, just for atheletics and play before some of those that have been there since Pre-K.....some of the money will not be happy campers. I see them picking up a few over the years, yet people seem to still not understand that not only do you have to be a stellar athelete, you have to qualify and then YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE GRADE. That alone, is not for everyone. Good luck to you as well........we will just have to wait and see how everything turns out.
  7. I assume that everyone has a sport that is closer to home than the rest. Which sports in your opinion were thrown under the bus? As for me, BB is where my interest lies. Not sure if we can compete in D2 in basketball or not, yet I am CERTAIN that we would never be able to compete in the proposed district under the new Z-plan. I think the move was in the best interest of the school, yet I am biased due to the Hopeless situation brought on by the continued use of the multiplier and localized proposed districts relating to the sport I support most. Not sure where the money for financial aide comes from.....I would assume a little from you....a little from me...etc.
  8. That's the key......everything will be fine, as long as they lose. Not sure what you are seeing or hearing, yet there seems to be a renewed sense of excitement on the USJ campus!
  9. As with every other accusation, if you have evidence of anything, including the new charge of kidnapping, please report it to you local authorities.................
  10. I heard Lexington by 14........but I really have no idea. That came from a kid who was at the game chasing girls.
  11. And what would the reason for that be...........Could it be that USJ middle plays inividual middle schools throughout the county? As the same group of kids get older and play together in High School, they end up facing a conglomeration of all those Middle schools they played a few years back????
  12. Glad you said it and not me. THIS IS THE MAJORITY OF IT! Had a Private school parent made this exact comment....the immediate rebuttal would have been that they think they are so much better than the rest! All of these arguments are site-specific! It just so happens that the area/county school system we live in is an absolute joke! I did not do it.......had nothing to do with what they have become. If I lived in another area of the state where the "free" education did not require metal detectors, gang colors and an entire police force roaming the halls........I may very well be shacked up with Pujo, citing the usual "Private Hater" quotes. But.....I do not. I chose to live here, did the research for the public we were zoned and made what I thought to be the right decision for my child! Never even got past the thought of sending him there because I knew when I drove up that I was not ,as a grown man, even going to be brave enough to go back down there and pick him up! I'm not saying all schools in our area are like this......JUST THE ONE WE WERE ZONED FOR! As for the bloated salary of some of the Private Headmasters..........do a little value/per dollar math on some of the salaries within "some" of the Public school systems. At least as a Private School employee you are required to do the job you were hired to do....period. If you don't, you will be shown the door, regardles of your age, sex, duration of employment or the color of your skin! Once again........Site Specific..........If the Publics continue to hand the orginization of our Country's Future education over to a bunch of Clowns.......THE CIRCUS WILL CONTINUE, followed by the continued mass exodus to Private Education. I have spoken........PEACE!
  13. Well said and I will add this. If anyone out there in modern day of "Atheletics First" has false ambitions that the academic integrity of this school will be sacrificed just to win a few ball games...has no idea what they are talking about or has never met the Leadership or Board. Even sitting with our own......I tire of all the talk of "offering scholarships". It is "need-based financial aid" people (just like the earlier guy said). To make an atheltic impact at this school, you will have to meet all of the following. 1) Be a great athelete 2) Have a personal financial situation that qualifies you 3) Maintain appropriate grades at one of the top College Prep schools in the state (and trust me people......that alone is a full time job). 4) Be willing to attend a school where your "off campus" behavior can get you kicked out as easily as your "on". I am sure there are a few within driving distance out there that will join and make an impact, yet I do not see a mass exodus as people have proposed. JMO
  14. and you expected....................what? Not sure where you were headed with this one?
  15. Do you have to meet both of these requirements to be ineligible or just one of either. If you do not play in a varsity game your freshman year, can you transfer without sitting out? I think there is going to be alot of these between our local area D1 privates. Already heard talk of parents wanting to transfer from the larger to the smaller..........sad, I think. Thanks
  16. My bad........got me riled up!!!!!! It just fit in so well!????? "Heil"
  17. The sad thing is.......I am at a point now where none of the above points matter to me anymore. I have only one child, so I only have to deal with this for four years. Given the quality of the public school system in our area......we have scraped and saved to send just this one to private school. Our everyday life is effected by this decision, yet we felt it was best for him in the long run.......WHICH WAS OUR DECISION....Get's kind of old hearing some of the comments on these boards about thinking you are "better than" someone else! We aren't rich, by any stretch of imagination. Probably bring home less than most of the "haters" out there! If anyone has an issue with how we arranged our priorities keep in mind that I haven't heard anyone questioning their own. I too feel that an All_Private organization would do well. Upon constant whining and complaining, the TSSAA will eventually offer state titles for every county in Tennessee, yet IMO......that is what drives this all. Win at all cost, crucify anyone that can beat you and make sure little Johnny get his trophy!.........Sad.
  18. Thanks for proving my point!....... Guess we all owe you an apology for choosing to move our children's education up on the "priority" totem pole? Your comparison to the Communist regime deserves NO COMMENT!
  19. You are exactly right...my friend. Only problem why is it taking the privates so long to understand that this is the goal?". All this would go away if the TSSAA would just have the "kahuna's" (?) to mandate this instead of forcing the privates to go away on their own. The "we need you, but don't want you" mentality is getting old.....fast! As a D1 private supporter......having found this web site, it sickens me to browse around on here and leave feeling that I have done something WRONG by electing to send my child to a private school. Let's face it, most of the comments you come across do nothing more than reinforce the decision we made! Making the move to D2 is becoming more of a reality now than ever before......and it may not be this reclassification period, but most assuredly the next as you have said. It is just a matter of time until the majority of the privates want out.......so my question is, having this happen, Why in the world would we still need the TSSAA?! As for the current D1 privates that want to remain, I'm sure RC would let you as long as you still contribute the almighty $$. Without a doubt, we cannot compete in D2.......not now.....probably not any time soon. I don't suspect that we will be picking up any stellar atheletes with financial aide in the near future. Contrary to what most of the "accusers" say.......you still have to qualify....then you have to be an atheletic specimen.....then most importantly...YOU HAVE TO PASS! We are an academic-first school and anyone that thinks they are going to be given a grade because they run a 4.40, will be sadly mistaken! I'm not defending all privates, because I do not know what goes on at the rest....therefore, I do not comment on stuff I know nothing about, unlike most of the one-line comments you usually get back from most of the "private-haters". Honestly......I do not think there will be a mass exodus to D2. Why, because D2 is still under the realm of the TSSAA. Like I said before....why would we need them? It is time someone stood up and convinced the private schools that being a part of a biased organization is not in the best interest of anyone involved.
  20. Yes.........Life is great! I remember attending Public school and hearing one of the Private chants: "That's alright....That's OK You will work for me someday!" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> That was 20 years ago.....Guess the publics got even. Too bad I'm now on the losing side!
  21. my fault..........weren't many people there....just guessed
  22. Saw them beat Owensboro as well, yet did not feel that game should have been as close as it was, from a talent standpoint. They seem to have some talent, yet have a couple of kids play out of control on occasion.....especially one. I'm sure Coach Hart will get that under control. Biggets adjustment I saw from all the kids was having to go from having "on the job" evaluation of TSSAA officials calling EVERYTHING the first two days, to volunteers "letting them play" the rest of the time. gchsfan<--------16-18+/- yr old sitting @ end of bleachers?
  23. I can see the smaller D2 schools of today feeling slighted yet wouldn't 300+/- figure difference be better than what some of actually have now?
  24. Have you lost your mind.....there is NO way they would ever let the privates control the board 9-0! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
