  1. I hope the Knights do make the playoffs. Regardless these young men are benefitting from playing for a great football coach. Coach Rut is the best around!
  2. I was at the meeting at Hillwood Country Club and Twinwildcats account is exactly as I remember. Brad Gioia was not present. The way I remember it is Mcgugin used the monies raised as he deemed necessary(equipment, camps, assisstant in college recruiting, etc).

This needs to be read aloud at one of these 2 a day board meetings taking place.

There has never been a more accurate post! Very well said Sir!!
  5. Really... seems very similar to last year to me. Sets up well for the old Ensworth choke. Best team there, already beat their semi final opponent twice, heavily favored to crush everybody else....ring any bells?
  6. Pretty sure all the W Campbell predictions took care of any credibility questions...
  7. Its becoming more and more acceptable.
  8. This has everything to do with a student not being able to do the work academicly. It has everything to do with a coaching staff going out and finding a stud football player and getting him admitted to a school that he is not prepared to attend. It has everything to do with a school turning a blind eye to academic shortfalls so that the stud football player suits up on Friday nights. Family makes a knee jerk reaction to get him eligible. Sad story. I truely hope its the right decision...... Dont kid yourselves. This is becoming more and more commonplace. Its happening on West End, Granny White Pike, in Chattanooga and in Memphis just to name a few. Im all for giving kids chances just make sure they are doing the work in the classroom. The education should be what the chance is about.
  9. I dont see BGA being able to play with BA. That being said BA seems to have a game or two every year in which they simply dont show up. Everything I hear says this is a different group with a better work ethic. I think BA wins big.
  10. please update Simonis injury as soon as someone has information. Thanks!
  11. MBA faces a short week and has not seen any threat of a passing game this year. The defense has played unbelievably all year.Everyone does there job on every play. Very few missed assignments allowing Kay and Riegle to fly around making plays. Coach Mcgugin will do what always does on offense.....run the ball, run the ball, and run the ball. Control the clock and force Baylor into bad matchups. I agree this is Baylors best chance in years to get the Big Red. I say Huesman keeps it close but MBA holds on late 20-16.
  12. Thats the huge difference in MBA football. The staff every year comes back with less experience and little continuity. Coach Elliotts departure continues to be the most glaring and the defensive schemes since he left leave lots to be desired. Nothing against current staff just lacks experience. Lots of great coaches are no longer on the hill:Elliott,Redmond,Sutton,Matthews,Counce Sr,Counce Jr,Black,Rutledge,Hiett,Caudill,Moran,Mittens,Whitfield have all left in the last 3 or 4 years. The consistancy of the staff has always been a strength of the program. Sign of the times I guess. Looking forward to Friday night and a great season from th Big Red.
  13. MBA 31 Pearl Cohn 26 MBA wears them down and wins late.
  14. I wouldnt be at all surprised to see Elder take the majority of the snaps. EHS will be far superior to anybody they play up front. Bowers will control the line of scrimmage, run alot of option and keep the ball on the ground. I think he will use Corn much as he did Tavarres and have a platoon of tailbacks behind him. Things may not start out this way but I think it will develop into this. My predictions for D2: 1.Ensworth 2.Brentwood Academy 3.Baylor 4.MBA 5.McCallie 6.BGA 7.Ryan 8.JP2 1.MUS 2.Briarcrest 3.CBHS Cant wait for the games to begin. Thoughts??
