  1. I think that was uncalled for. If you don't have anything nice to say, maybe you should not say anything. These players are people and are still playing their hearts out. District games are very emotional and have very strong ties especially in single A small towns.

Sorry, I knew that I just wrote it down backwards. Sorry about that!

I would not count on it completely. As far as the East Tennessee section goes, you must look at a little more than the records. You have to look at the competition. For example Coalfield only has 12 regular season games scheduled. Other teams like Rockwood and Harriman have 30+ games scheduled. Many of those are against AA and AAA teams. Although the record many show they have a loss, the teams are seeing better competition and therefore getting better. I believe Wartburg and Coalfield have not played yet. I think Wartburg beat Oliver Springs twice last night. Harriman beat Wartburg once. They also beat Grace Christian. Rockwood beat Wartburg, and then Wartburg beat Rockwood. Then Rockwood got beat by Greenback last night. I think this was Greenback's first district win. Therefore anything can happen on any given day in baseball. I would not rely completely on a team's record when the districts are concerned.
  4. Did Jackson Christian lose many players from last years team? How about pitching? Did JCS lose several senior pitchers? Don't get down Rockwood, you know what to prepare for. Use that to your advantage!
  5. From what I have seen, Richland is one of the best teams there. Jackson Christian may have been a better draw for Rockwood. I think Harriman is going to have a hard road. Any thoughts?
  6. I see that Friendship Christian and Richland both have beaten Cascade this year. I would have picked Cascade to be at state. I also see that Summertown has beaten Richland. I have seen several who predicted Lookout Valley to be the best in the state, but I see they were beaten by Rockwood early in the year. What is the competition looking like for state? Is Summertown on top? Or does everyone still think it will be Richland or Lookout Valley?
  7. Will it be Monday before the parings are up? I saw that the A games will be played at Riverdale High School and Middle Tennesse Christian. Will this remain the same or is everything subject to change?
  8. I think the pitchers arm actions are what messed Harriman up the most. When the rain started, errors were also hurting Harriman. Hancock Co. should hold their heads up high. They came to win and did a good job. You could tell both teams were ready to play tonight. It was a good game. Your heart has to go out to anyone who gets put out at this point. Everyone knows they are one win away from state. Crazzyness: If you think Harriman and Rockwood are the number 7 & 8 teams, who are the best teams in your opinion. I was very surprised to see Cascade out of it. I am assuming Lookout Valley is still probably one of the best teams. Any knowledge of the others? When will the paring brackets be out? From what I am seeing it is: Rockwood, Harriman, Lookout Valley, Friendship Christian, Richland, Summertown, Huntingdon & Jackson Christian. Good Luck to both Roane County Teams (and Midway Softball)! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I hope both teams can move forward and use some of this energy on here for the games tomorrow night. I would love to see two Roane County teams go to state. Does anyone know if they are talking about postponing the games due to the rain we have had? What times are the games scheduled to start. I am assuming Rockwood will get out of school early to travel to University. Just a note to the parents who are going....you may want to allow some extra travel time. I saw on TV there is a big race at the Bristol Speedway this weekend. I assume many of the hotel rooms will be full and people will be headed up there after work. I hope everyone has a safe trip and hope both Roane County Teams come home with a win! I would also like to add a comment to one of the above posts. I have never yelled at an ump. I saw so many people do it in little league I decided to never do it. I may not agree with it or like it, but do not yell out on the field. I saw parents ready to fight over a little league call. I know there are good fans at Harriman, Rockwood and Kingston. I am actually good friends with several of them. The actions of some do not reflect the thoughts and feelings of all involved. I truely wish the best of luck to both of these teams as they play on Friday night. I hope both teams come home with a win. Good luck Blue Devils and Tigers!
  10. Do you know how the predetermined parings go? Do Regions 1 & 8 play?
