  2. if i remember correctly id say that neither of those teams made it it was riverside and summertown riverside beat friendship in 9 innings and summertown beat cascade in 5 (18-4)!! and summertown then went on to beat riverside in 8 innings (3-2)
  3. summertown did it in an 3-2 8 inning game it was a thriller but summertown came out with the win in a low scoring game this was a pitchers duel all the way through it was a fantastic game to end the season on GREAT JOB EAGLES!!!!
  4. clint gobbell from summertown ended the season with 19
  5. well the eagles did it in a very close and well fought battle for both teams but summertown came out with the W. stown is single a state champs its been a great year for us all hopefully we can come back and defend that title with some more tough competiting GREAT JOB EAGLES!!!!!!!
  6. How do you see Summertown in the finals? Cascade and Summertown both cant be in the finals...they are in the same bracket. Im not sayin Summertown doesnt deserve to be there...cause by all means they do...but what do they have

    Coalfield?

thats total bull...those players put on their shoes the same way everyone else does. u cant say juss cause a kid lives in a small community that hes not an athlete. take summertown for instance...a 1-A team...UNDEFEATED in 2-A (outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 46-13...who threw their aces) and 2-4 in 3-A...the games they lost include Franklin, Coffee Co. and Lebanon (all advanced to substate) all by one run except to Franklin (they lost 3-1) And Coffee Co. and Franklin threw their DISTRICT PITCHERS because they were scared to lose. (They saw Summertown destroy Tullahoma) For instance take Mikey Minor...VANDERBILT'S ACE...went to Chapel Hill...according to you...rec league. Im sorry but i doubt that you can say SEC D1 baseball can be considered rec league??? Are you kidding me??? Also Belmont's future closer, Jon Ivie played for Summertown...another rec league 1-A baseball team (and he's throwing low 90's) 1-A - 3-A is the same baseball so no its not...'simple as that'...that just shows ur ignorance in the game of baseball. O and yea why dont you take your 12 year old brother to Mufreesboro to watch the single A state tournament and see if he really is good enough to play with them...since they arent athletes of course

    District 12A

Summertown is goin to be a state contender this year as long as they dont blow it. They r unbeaten in single and double A. The semi final game is goin to be a tough one for em but if they play their game they should move on from that wit out a problem. Same for sub state. Dont be suprised if u c Summertown in the state tourney again this yr
  10. Well of course it isn't. Thats not region baseball. There are gonna be very few teams that do run rule in region. Especially the region semis...an elimination game. Summertown is not going to score 18 or 15 runs again the next time they play CA or Richland. But they will score a few runs and play their normal defense. If CA or Richland is going to beat Summertown, they need to bat better than what they showed in their first meeting. Simply throwing you 'worse' pitchers does not mean your offense didnt come either. You may have not as good pitching on that day but you have your bats and D every day.
  11. ha yea it would but at the same time i heard blaze for richland could shut down anyone on almost any given day. Either way i would say Summertown has to bring their A game on that Monday in the Region Semis, cause they will either face Blaze or Workman. If Summertown makes it past that game, they will be more than ready for sub state and state

    1A Baseball

Ok when they barley beat Moore Co., that was their THIRD game in a row that day and were totally out of pitching. They started at 11:00 that morning and finished at 7:15 that night with 25 minutes off all day. And Eagleville that was their second game with a game in between. Idk but its kinda hard to play then try to rest and play again. And you cant say anything bout them barely beating one 'weaker' team cause they are still beating the better teams when they come to play.
  13. Moore Co. is not a bad team, they have a smart coach. They knew wat to throw aganst Summertown to shut down ther bats for few innings. Their record is not a real reflection of how good they are.
  14. OK look at your schedule. There are maybe 4 or 5 good teams on there. When you are beating everyone by 9 or 10 runs or more thats not good baseball, thats just playing weak teams. When you lose to CA and tie Cascade, im not saying your a bad team you have a good team to continue winning all the games you have won, but honestly were they all against region, sub state or state teams?? And for your information you did no better than Summertown last year, 3 and out is what i believe happened to both. And yes you can EXPECT to see Summertown back in state this year, more prepared than they were last year.
