  3. The LSU kid is short and thus does not have great length. But If you had access to his game film you would see the distance he covers in the open field in a 5 yard straight stretch is compatible to others just as fast. Test it out if you have a chance. And this is not an exact science in identifying speed anymore than you or I holding a watch at the finish line. Just an old school way of I.D.'ing speed in the days before instant info.
  4. Many old school coaches watching Prospect Recruiting Video watch number of strides/5 yard distance. This works well for "skill position" players when they break into open field. Fewer the strides the faster the kid. The interior Lines on both sides still have to show their worth on film and position specific drills. 40's for these guys only show a degree of athleticism. I disagree with the post about Recruiters "not" watching tape based on a 40 time. I'd hate to lose my job when the Head man asks me "did you watch tape on johnny?", and I say no b/c I was relying on someone's 40 time on the kid. And then the kid plays for your opponent and beats you. Time to look for a new job.
  5. I have a complete list of all Off/Def Linemen signees in the state of TN at: unapproved website/blog/ Let me know if we missed one of the players you know.
  6. If you have or know of an Off/Def Lineman you need to inquire into the Frontline Scouting Combine/Camp. From what I understand, as the name states, they are only utilizing Lineman. They will make this day cross between a combine (Combine tests), and a Lineman Camp teaching techniques that College Line coaches want to see so they can evaluate. Drills are to be taught by former NFL lineman and former college line coaches along with some great HS line coaches. Their mission is to help these youngmen w/ exposure for the colleges, not put them in rankings and such like other combines.
  7. Any linemen OL or DL sign with anybody? I'm speaking of anyone after signing day that may not of made the news papers. For linemen at least, the rep. with recruiters outside the state is about to change. Trying to help linemen at all levels with Frontline Scouting-Combine & Camp Start thinking though, start reeling off the GREAT linemen that have come out of TN HS Football A few: Reggie White, Harry Galbreath, Bubba Miller, Reggie Grimes, Chad Clifton, the center with the Packers (help with name) Can you name more? There's a bunch more...
  8. Yes he did coach at ETSU and in my opinion did a remarkable job in keeping a team together and playing hard when they knew that the end of the program was coming. I agree. He's a good man as well as a good coach. I hope more kids in TN can learn about him as his program. have any linemen you know follow us @ our OL/DL blog @ http://unapproved website Thanks
  9. Is that the same Paul Hamilton that was the head coach @ ETSU? I want to make sure we contact him to help other Tennessee HS players have the opportunity to go and play ball there.
