  1. I just wanted to say it was a wonderful experience coaching against the coaches in region 7. I sincerely hope that our teams do well as usual in the region and state tournaments. Congrats on your year so far. Go region 7!
  2. The new start date last year made it really tough to get teams to commit. Last year coaches only had 3 days to prepare. The next week we attend montgomery central's, so we moved it to the saturday after that. If youve never attended one of our tournaments, you should. Changing it to that saturday also made it to where we are getting some larger and tougher teams to commit. It will be a barn burner as usual.

  4. Hello coaches and wrestling followers. Hope everyones summer is going as planned. Wrestling season is right around the corner, so I figured I needed to send this post out to notify everyone that the Redhawk Preseason Bash date has changed this year. Our preseason tournament at Creek Wood will be held Saturday, November 19th, 2011. We will have the hydration crew available in order to certify your wrestlers if needed. We hope to have a girls division as well as the boys. Entry fee is $8.00 per wrestler, not to exceed $175.00 per team. This IS NOT a training date for referees at our school. Each wrestler will recieve 3 matches. We'll have a fully stocked concession stand, and our hospitality room is always fantastic. If you need anymore information, post back or contact me at coachmick.hambrick@yahoo.com.

  7. No, "The C", could not attend. Their school district said they could not travel. I thought the tournament went well. By no means did Collierville run away with it this year. Not to mention, some of the other places were determined by a point or 2. If Ohio Co had their full lineup, I think they would have given Collierville more of a run for their money. They had a lot of injuries coming in as well as a lot of the teams, but they did have a few key guys out. But I'm not taking anything away from Collierville, they did a great job and congradulations to them. They are a class act team and I've really enjoyed them coming the last 2 years. Hopefully they'll be back next year. I've already received afew committments for next years tournament. Thanks everyone for coming and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.

  15. "The C" very well might come down to Creek Wood and dominate but there are a few teams in that lineup that might think differently. Some of those teams are much better tournament teams than dual teams. I think you may have forgotten that there is a difference in the two. With individual tournaments, a team may have only 2 or 3 very good wrestlers and with a field of 19, they could possibily chip away at "The C". Does "The C" feel that every kid they have is gonna win or place in the state? I haven't seen "The C" to comment about how good they are. If they come down and dominate this tournament, then I'm man enough to give them their props. I did watch them last year and they were good and as a matter of fact, they came to the Creek Wood Preseason tournament last year. I thought they looked good there but they didn't dominate. Have they gotten that much better in this short amount of time? If they have, props to their coaches. I will say the mashing of Hixson was impressive, but you are building them up pretty high. As far as A/AA state champs, I might agree with you there if they are half as good as you say. East Lit isn't as good as last year and Montgomery Central is way down this year. The rep from our section this year will more than likely be Eagleville and I don't think they are experienced enough to pull it off. But anyways, good luck to you and "The C". Hopefully we will see you guys at Creek Wood and if "The C" isn't coming, please tell the coach to have enough courtesy to email me as I have turned people down to get in this tournament when I could have filled "The C's" spot if they weren't coming.

  17. Is "THE C" still attending the Creek Wood Invitational on January 15th? It will be a good chance for me to see what all you guys are talking about.
  18. Just one weight class to throw out there is the 130 pound weight class in which you have Bass from Harpeth, Snow of Clarksville (if he is indeed dropping to that weight), Wallick from Creek Wood, and Klienert from Beech. Not sure who Hendersonville or Northwest has there.
  19. Luke Humphreys of Dickson Co pins Matt Price of Montgomery Central at the Dickson Duals.
  20. Hey coach, my 2 girls from Creek Wood are comin.
  21. Your right, that is a bold statement this early in the season, but I think it is a valid statement. I've watched Jonathan for 4 years now and I believe this is his year to place. Can he win it all, I don't believe so, not yet. It's a long year, but if he keeps on the same path that he's been on since late last year, I belive he can at least bring home a medal. He's a very quick and aggressive wrestler thats very knowledgable from the top position. He'll face some stiff competition throughout the year, so it should be fun to watch and see if he wants it bad enough.
  22. I looked at both sets of rankings the other day and thought they were very interesting to say the least. In my personal opinion, I think Brays rankings are probably a little closer to reality but anyways....., that gave me an idea. I'd like to see who everyone thinks the top 5 are in each weight class in each region. We'll probably see some of the same names but it could also give some other guys a little recognition also. If the guys that do the rankings are paying attention to this thread then this could possibly help them in their determinations also. So what do you guys think? Who are the top 5 guys in each weight class in their region? Who's gonna be the top 4 qualifing for state and who will be the 5th man standing outside?
  23. We at Creek Wood have a few girls. Northeast and Dickson both have girls teams.
  24. Creek Wood High School is hosting a duals tournament on December 11th, 2010, and is looking for a few more teams. We'll be awarding 1st thru 4th place plaques and 2 best wrestler plaques for 103 thru 140 and 145 thru 285. Entrance fee is $150. We'll have a loaded concession stand and as usual the hospitality will be awesome. If you're interested, please email Mick Hambrick at coachmick.hambrick@yahoo.com.
