I found this article about the suspensions. I think Loretto reacted too harsh by adding more games. 6 players, 2 fans suspended after Richland-Loretto fight Posted on September 28, 2012 by Chip Cirillo A Richland football player and a Loretto player that got into a fight in the Mustangs’ 39-6 homecoming win last week have been suspended for three games. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association did not release the names of the players. The TSSAA suspended the players one game each and the schools added two additional games. Two players from both schools who pushed and shoved while trying to separate players were suspended for two games. The TSSAA suspended them for one game and the schools suspended them for one game. Two Richland spectators who were escorted out of the stadium by law enforcement officials for screaming during and after the incident were suspended for one game by Richland. The TSSAA viewed game video of the incident. “It did not come close to rising to the level of a brawl, which is the first thing that we heard,†TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress said. “No one came off the sidelines. The coaches did exactly what they’ve been asked to do. Basically, two kids fought and the rest of them were in there pulling other kids apart or pulling people back.†Attempts to reach Loretto coach Lee Boyd and Richland coach Troy Hughes were unsuccessful

Yea right, maybe if the entire population of Summertown enrolled in high school. lol. I know they are 1A in all other sports, so I am pretty sure they would be 1A in football. But they might be right on the bubble of 2A. I am so glad that Summertown finally got a football team. I've never understood why they didn't have one, especially since they are so competitive in every other sport they compete in.

Wayne County is much improved and they play very well when they take the fight to the other team. Wayne County by 14.

Well if that the case, then the TSSAA is overreacting. Only one player really done anything at all. I'm sure the refs got to tell the TSSAA their version of what happened and probably didn't want to hear Loretto's coaches side of the story or just dismissed it.

Is Mt. Pleasant even got enough students to be 2A? With this new system the TSSAA has come up with, you dont know who has moved up in class or who has went down until the playoffs. Its a stupid, stupid system. It makes no sense whatsoever. There was nothing wrong with the way it was. If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Collinwood refused to shake hands after the Mt. Pleasant game? Thats some bad Karma man.

When did Mt. Pleasant and Adamsville become 2A teams? Like most Collinwood fans (that I know anyway), you dont seem to keep up with whats happening with the rest of the teams in the area. Go back and look at the margin of victories against teams that Mt. Pleasant and Loretto have in common. I think you are going to be very surprised by how good Loretto is. Last week Loretto was up 42-7 at halftime. Came out and scored again inside 2 minutes of the start of the 3rd quarter and then emptied the bench and did not give up any points the entire second half. I know Collinwood got trounced by Mt. Pleasant, which really surprised me. But I think Collinwood will come out scrapping against Loretto Friday and give them a tough game. But Loretto will get the Win

When you say Loretto has a few players out, are you refering to the result of the ejections from the Richland game? I thought if anyone was going to be suspended, that it would be for just one game. Were they suspended for more than that?

Maybe Loretto will start getting some respect now.

3 games is way too execessive. That would be rediculous.

Yea, there was an article in today's Times Daily about this situation. And they also said that only one Loretto player was seen doing anything on the tape, and he was kicked and grabbed by his facemask before retaliating. One of the other Loretto players was tossing the ball to the referee and it accidentally hit one of Richland's players on the helmet, absolutely unintentional. So, hopefully the TSSAA will only suspend one of Loretto's players.

The RB wasn't Klienke was it?

Do you know or can anyone tell me who the players are for Loretto that got ejected? Were they starters? What quarter were the first ejections made in?

This might wind up being a close game because Loretto has 3 players suspended from this game because of a brawl with Richland last Friday. Richland has 4 players suspended for their next game. The 7 players were all ejected from the game last Friday, which makes them ineligible to play for one game, unless the TSSAA grants them an appeal.

This game wasn't even close, LORETTO 39 RICHLAND 6.

I do believe that Collinwood has a pretty good team this year and so does Loretto. Collinwoods win over Eagleville was impressive, the way Collinwood fought back and never gave up. Loretto beat a good team in Coumbia Academy and they beat a Waynesboro team that had beat No. 3 ranked Class AA Cascade the week before. As for the Loretto vs Lawrence County game. Loretto went in that game after playing an emotional game the week before and they probably still had their heads in the clouds. After playing awful in the first half against Lawrence County, they came out and shut them down in the second half (14-0), but they had dug themselves to deep of a hole to overcome. As for the Richland vs Columbia Academy game last week, I have no idea how CA managed to go in and get drubbed like that. I was shocked by that score. Either Richland has turned some kind of corner and has suddenly awoken and found themselves as a football team. Or CA went in that game thinking they just had to show up and they would get the W. You know what they say, "any given Friday" lol.

According to the Times Daily game stats, Loretto ended the game with 302 yards rushing to Wayne County's 148. Loretto was 2 of 4 passing for 17 yards with no int. Wayne County was 4 of 8 passing for 24 yards and 1 int. Loretto fumbled the ball 3 times losing all 3. Wayne County was 1-1 on fumbles. Wayne County has some good young talent and is going to be tough in the future.

Looks like the "Cats" couldn't come back. The Cats got shutout in the second half. Final score Loretto - 21 WC - 6.

Richland 49 CA 21 / Is this score right? How in the heck did this happen? Did CA show up at all? Did anyone attend this game? If so, lets hear what happened. Unbelievable.

Wow, this was a stunner. Is it treu that Cascade is ranked no.3 in AA? Because thats what I read in the paper today and I am finding that hard to believe. If Loretto dont get their act together after playing an awful first half against Lawrence County then WC might get their second win of the season. Loretto went in way over confident last night. i hope they hace their feet back on the ground next Friday night.

I was shocked to see that WC beat Cascade last night. Because WC got completely blew out in their first 2 games. Then in comes Cascade ( No. #3 in AA ) and WC beats them. Loretto coming off an emotional win over CA hopefully got slapped back to reality last night. That was definately a trap game against LC. Loretto got their tails handed to them in the first half and finally woke up in the second half (which they dominated) but it was too late. Anyway, me being a Loretto man, WC has me worried. I'm sure they have their confidence back after upsetting Cascade and Loretto probably lost a little confidence after their loss. This will probably be a good game, but if Loretto goes in and plays like they are capable of, then they should come out with a win.

Collinwood amazes me how they always manage to put together a good team (last year being the acception). After the rough season they had last year, they have bounced back with a good looking team this year. I played at Loretto and I'm a huge Loretto fan, but I have nothing but respect for Collinwood.

Maybe it would be different maybe it wouldn't. Loretto is not much bigger than C A. They are just barely big enough to be ranked a 2A school. They are probably the smallest 2A school in the state after Richland (if they are still 2A this year). Anyway this new rating and scheduling system is rediculous. It was just fine the way it was. Also as far as the penaltys in the game go, you are going to have questionable calls in almost every game. This game probably had more than its share (for both teams) fans from each team are going to see things differently because of their bias. The fact is Loretto came out on top this time, it may be different next time, we will just have to wait and see. Good luck to C A the rest of the season.

Why does everyone always blame it on the refrees when they get upset. I was at the game and saw good defense (no interference). I bet if we could watch slo-mo replays of the plays it would show the refs done a good job. Loretto played good "D" most of the night, holding C A to -4 yards rushing. They challenged C A to beat them with the pass and it worked for them. C A has a very good team, I just think Loretto wanted it more on this night.
