  1. You're completely right in terms of the gate. MJCA (and LCA for that matter) would bring in more money in D1. However, both schools need to give financial aid as part of the mission of our schools. Neither school is filled with rich kids, and at least in the case of LCA, we serve a large number of students who need aid in order to even be able to consider a private Christian education. So, yes, DII does serve the mission of the school. On a side note, MJCA probably wants to actually have a chance to win at some point and they may be able to do that in DII. They certainly can't in D1.
  2. Pickett Co- 3-3 (4-5) Red Boiling Springs- 0-6 (0-10) Scottsboro Christian- 1-5 (2-6) Faith Covenant- 5-1 (?) St. Andrews-Sewanee- 1-5 (4-6) MJCA- 2-5 (2-8) King's Academy- 3-4 (6-4) Riverside Christian- 2-4 (2-8) David Brainerd- 2-5 (4-6) 17-38 in a down year for most of these team. Yes, our second year program is just so humiliated that we don't play a powerhouse schedule. Now, here is a question for you slimshady...how many football games has Lancaster Christian Academy EVER played? I'll tell you---18. Quit knocking a VERY YOUNG program that is doing things the right way.
  3. I love the amount of hate LCA receives here. A second year program goes 8-0 and the fans are excited and somehow that means we think we are world-beaters! POINT OUT ONE STATEMENT WHERE ANYONE FROM LCA EVER SAID WE WOULD BEAT TROUSDALE, FRIENDSHIP, GORDONSVILLE, ETC!? This is getting ridiculous. LCA is very good for what we are----a very small program at the upper end of the weaker teams in TN. We are excited about where we and would love to play one of your programs to see where we are at. The private school hate in laughable.
  4. If you say so! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  5. "Somewhat compete"? Losses of 18, 16, 43, and 28 this year is not what I would consider competitive. Last year, they lost to those teams by 28, 29, 56, and 42 with a 42 point loss to Monterey thrown in. They have beaten Sewanee two years in a row. They would beat King's Academy and Riverside Christian. At least LCA and Zion are around the same size. This move makes a ton of sense for MJCA. I know it's sad for you guys to be losing one of your whipping boys, but its wise for MJCA. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. You could not be more wrong. I can tell you with certainty that most private school coaches and teachers are not making what they could be making at a public school.
  7. How come? I think it depends on how the scheduling goes. If their schedule is LCA, Riverside, Zion, Sewanee, Ezell, etc...I think they are in better shape than they are now.
  8. Lancaster improves to 8-0. I know we have not played a powerhouse schedule, but for a second-year program with 130 kids in the school, this is a very appropriate schedule for us. Last year at this time we were 5-3, losing to king's 40-24. Coach Greene has done an awesome job taking this program to the next level. Wins over Sewanee and Franklin Classical will give LCA a perfect 10-0 season---quite an accomplishment! DNJ Article on LCA's Football Season
  9. DII A is a lot bigger than I anticipated. How will the play-offs work with one big grouping like that? Will they be divided into E-M-W?
  10. Nashville Christian only beat LCA 21-20 in the spring scrimmage. I wouldn't count on a win against us.
  11. Who are you a fan of? I have heard through the grapevine that you are VERY closely associated with MJCA. Any truth to that? If so, wouldn't you love for your team to be where LCA is?
  12. After seeing the RBS fans at the MJCA game Friday, I have a great deal of respect for that group. They were more into the game and cheered on the Dogs more than I have seen our fans cheer us this season and we are 7-0! What a great group of dedicated supporters. And honestly, the score did not do justice to the MJCA-RBS game. It was 21-12 when RBS fumbled on the 4 yard line. That game should have been within one score or less at the half, but that turnover deflated the team. Honestly, the coaches did not make adjustments on defense either that could have slowed down the Saints. I am not saying RBS should have won, but converting that touchdown and adjusting on defense (huge gaps in the defensive line with no backers filling) would have changed things. After seeing two RBS games plus another on tape, I am convinced that this group of players should have won multiple games this year. You decide why they didn't, but I think we all have an idea.
  13. LCA travels to King's Academy this Friday for what looks like the toughest battle left on the Knights' schedule. Last year, King's beat LCA 40-24 in a game that was not very close. The Lions jumped out to a 33-0 nothing lead before LCA could get a comeback going. Obviously, LCA has dramtically improved this season and are much more formidable than last season. An interesting note on this game---both teams now run the double wing offense, which should lead to a very physical game. Anyone have any thoughts on this one or specifically King's Academy? LCA is mostly healthy and on a real roll. The travel, last year's loss and playing at the end of fall break are all concerns for the Knights, though. If LCA executes like they have been so far this season, I think the Knights pull away and win this one 24-10.
  14. LCA improves to 7-0 on the season with an easy victory over SCA. The Knights rushed for over 400 yards and had three 100-yard rushers on the night. Senior Justin Potts broke the 1,000 yard mark for the second straight season. Congratulations to Coach Greene and the team on another impressive victory!
  15. I'm almost positive Riverside Christian is going DII. Rumor has it Zion Christian is making the move and MJCA and Nashville Christian are considering it. It could be a nice little private school division if all these teams make the move. It won't be amazing football, but it will be balanced and teams will have a chance to win week in and week out.
  16. Does anyone know how bowl bids work or which bowls are played every year?
  17. We are smaller than every school on our schedule and we are a second year program. Who would you like us to have scheduled? Who has ever said we'd be beating up on teams like FCS right now? Not to mention, we won't be D1 so we will never play those teams anyways. We are very proud of being 6-0, despite any naysaying.
  18. 38-6 and should have been worse. Looks like its the same old day in Bulldog Country!!!
  19. Any last minute thoughts on the game tonight? LCA boards the bus in an hour!
  20. Ummm....okay. LCA 60, Scottsboro 0
  21. We are looking forward to the trip. Should be a very competitive game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (How long it is competitive is yet to be determined.)
