  1. 4:15 SP on 20 4th and 5 trying to score. DOnt make it game is over.
  2. Yea I guess you right this last drive has been pretty effective. Dam that VEER! Thought SP would be a little better. Hats of the UC they are a strong team. Not over yet but time is starting to run out.
  3. Like last week once you see and play a half against the UC Veer a good team can start to dialing it in and making some stops and get a fumble doesn't hurt. We now have us a ball game.
  4. Big play for SP. they have some life left. SP can score fast and we may now have a game. Lets see what they can do.
  5. I will second that UC has a solid group of kids and fans. Should be in the hunt next year as well.
  6. Tick Tock Click Clock you stop. UC is starting to roll. SP better make some plays or they are done.
  7. Wow did not know UC could punt? HMMM. Did not see that last week.
  8. Maybe not NC was down by 3td at the half and almost pulled it out. SP will have to plug up the A gaps and stop the Full Back Dive. It all starts there. SP is in the this game for a reason and can score pretty quickly but will have to stop the veer or it is over. I am surprise that UC from what I am seeing looks bigger and faster. Not sure if it is the weather or what but UC looks like the better team.
  9. This look like the Nashville Christian up to now. Yea I was think the same thing. This look like the Nashville Christian game up to now. If SP doesn't make some adjustments it's goign to get ugly.
  10. I know this doesn't apply to 1A/2A but in 3A Alcoa is a Open Enrollment School and they have 12 State Tittles. Just saying.
  11. Click here http://goo.gl/TPpKaj for a video with every single offensive play that Union City ran in order last Friday night at Nashville Christian.
  12. Yea it is easy for UC to move the dive slightly down the line a little, I was thinking more along the lines of a 6-2 Wide Tackle Type of defense I run with my sons 10 year old youth football team. Two guys plugging up the A gaps 2 tackles in the C gaps with DE's out side shoulder of the Ends. LB line up 3 yards back over B gaps. Force UC to try to throw the ball. Although they only threw the ball I think 3 or 4 times at prefect times and competed each attempt if I remember correctly. I think plugging up the A gaps and solid LB play is critical to stopping what I saw last Friday night. Now watch UC come out and do something a little different just to mix it up.
  13. Not sure NC got totally pushed around as bad as some have said. I believe it was more the offensive scheme and FB dive with the QB off tackle option that #2 and #42 ran very well. Yes I have given much deserved credit to the UC O LIne ands sepcifically their Center after watching the video a few times. He does a good job firing off low after the snap. Not sure NC #50 was getting blown off the ball much. The first half was much different than the second half and after they had finally seen it a couple of quarters they started dialing it in and just ran out of time. If SP can stop the FB dive UC will not be as effective. Almost need to have 2 nose guards in the A gaps to plug up the middle. I know that sounds crazy but it might be effective. The first quarter it appeared that #42 fell forward for 5 yards on every first down. Get UC in a second/third and long situation and the offense is not as effective. Just got a TXT from my daughter who said that UT Coach Butch Jones was at Nashville Christian this afternoon talking with #34, #44, and #50. Kinda funny as Coach Brothers played for Vanderbilt and hates UT.
  14. I went back to review if I got that play and unfortunately I was zoomed in on the the player running the ball and missed him getting hit.
  15. Nashville Christian had only given up 12.8 points per game before last Friday. They had a pretty solid defense and made adjustments in the second half but ran out of time and were not able to catch up. Hard to prepare kids in one week to fundamentally stop the veer if they did not see it anytime throughout the year.
  16. Sorry to highjack this thread for UC and SP but I just had to respond to this comment. NC also fumbled a few times as well and could have scored couple more times as well. One of them at the end of the game that might have been a pass attempt but was called a fumble that ended the game. NC was driving and would have tied it up to maybe go to OT. Going for it while up 14 points on your own 15 was really stupid and bad coaching in my opinion. Try to disrespect SP defense like that next week and it will cost you big time. UC did not get the first down on that particular try and almost cost them the game. As you recall NC outscored UC 20 to 7 in the 2nd half. Without a few dumb penalties on NC's part the game would have been much different. Ah well shoulda woulda coulda. NC will see everyone here next year with a bigger, stronger, and faster team as they keep raising the bar. Funny how fans on different sides see the same game so different. Anyway good job to the UC team as they deserved the win and played very well. Should be another good game against SP.
  17. LOL. I am not a UC fan but can assure you SP will not eat that veer up and spit it out. If the actual SP players think that, it will be a very long night for them.
  18. http://youtu.be/f_ewAQpE2ok Video of every Union City offensive play in order against Nashville Christian last Friday night. Kinda like loosing weight you know what to do it just so dam hard to do it. This is what it is like to stop the UC veer option. Easy and simple what needs to be done but so dam hard to actually do it, especially when you have kids that run it so well. The key is to stop the Full Back dive. Do that then the Veer option system is not as effective. Easier said than done as #2 and #42 run it pretty dam good.
  19. Yes #34 is getting lots of attention as he is sophomore. You will see him the next couple of years and he should have big numbers by the time he is a senior.
  20. Amazing how a team can only run 3 maybe 4 plays all game and put up 42 points. Got to hand it to UC they executed very well and their O Line played well. #2 ran the veer option to perfection and except for the fumbled pitched early he played very well. Not very big or that fast but slippery and consistently made plays all night. I was shocked to see the UC coach going for it on fourth down on their own 23 yard line. That seemed really dumb and up to that point was giving him a lot of credit and thought he was a good coach but that could have really changed the game. Luckily it did not make a big difference but easily could have. NC had to many turnovers and couple very costly penalties but UC won the battle in the trenches and the score reflected that. The long pass play as time was running out at the end of the first half was the key play that ended up being the differnce and it totally changed the game. UC scored 35 first half points and NC made a few adjustment at the half and did out score UC in the second half 20 to 7, but it just wasn't enough. UC fans showed up in force and were ready to cheer on their team with a great bunch of parents and supporters. I'll puling for the Tornadoes in Cookeville next week I did a quick little highlight video. Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rH3AXJzrrI&feature=youtu.be
