  1. Your right it wasn't "Lucky", the defense did make a play like... they did all night. The play calling in my opinion, and others (just read the previous posts) was great. Cant argue with 8-1 and shot at district championship. Keep it up offense!!! Still need to get better. Hahaha I think some people are mad bc they were wrong all year. Its ok to admit it... everyone makes mistakes, but question is will they learn from it.
  2. Again, some people need to go reread my post. Its like I said at the beginning of the year this rebels team will be more successful if they are "able" to pass the ball. When I read my post I never saw the phrase "the passing game won the game for the Rebels". I specifically put that quote on there because it would shed light on the fact that they had trouble running the ball early, so they started passing and had success, except for the INT (they got lucky and got the ball right back), that ultimately opened up the run for them later in the second half. It is good to see that people are starting to buy in to this concept. Go REBELS!!!!
  3. "We were able to pass the ball, and that loosened them up a lot," Ford said. "They were blowing us off the ball, but we started running to the weak side, making the first defender miss and running hard. The offensive line blocked well." Quote from Tennessean. Sounds like the things we mentioned before in order for this team to be successful. Being balanced... they were well balanced on offense and it ended up opening up the running game later in the game when it mattered most. The offensive line being more consistent in pass and run blocking. Defense contained the running attack and passing as well for that matter. Coach Webb had them ready and made great adjustments, but why did Indy get away from the dive. Great game Rebels!!
  4. Great game REBELS!!!! Defense was great all game. I dont think the Rebels got lucky at all. Up 14 to 0 at halftime give the Ravenwood coaches or coming out and adjusting at halftime and scoring on their first drive. Hats off to the Rebels for adjusting after the that first half. I dont think anyone in the stands expected Ravenwood to lie up and play smash mouth and take them by surprise. If it wasnt for the big pass play I dont know if the Raptors could have kept that up all the way down the field for the score. Offense was definately slowed without Keylo and Ford in the first quarter but Ford ended up playing the rest of the game. Hats off to the Rebels offense, nuff said! ANOTHER BIG WEEK REBELS!!! Take care of business!!!
  5. Anytime a back is that hot running the ball you need to give it to him. Alex Ford took the first play to the house for a huge run. Yes, there was bad weather, also the Rebels got up EARLY (not yelling just trying to emphasize that point), and the two's were in the middle of third as well. Which all could contribute to more of the running game, and the big reason... it was working so well. So, I think they did a great job of killing the clock and capping on big plays. Special teams finally got a monkey off their back with a punt return for a touchdown. The D did an outstanding job containing there special skill guys. Again, I agree with you they had 8 sometimes 9 in the box and the Rebs ran all over em, very impressive. In my defence, this is the real first game Alex Ford has run like that, like he did last year and when he is like that he needs the ball and they gave it to him. I AM SOOOOO GLAD TO SEE IT!!! they also had a touchdown by air on screen pass to Ford, very nice play. Great game Rebs. BIG DISTRICT GAME THIS WEEK!!! Ravenwood needs this one bad, dont slack off.
  6. Great game REBELS!!! It looks like we are getting better on every side of the ball. Big test with Ravenwood next they hammered Antioch last night. AlwaysARebel I couldnt agree with you more.
  7. Big game for the Rebels this week!!! Fern Creek sounds like they are pretty talented at some spots. Rebels will have to play a great game again limiting penalties, turnovers, and big plays from Fern Creek offense. Looking for more improvement from our boys from last week. Big game REBS!!!! Go get 'em!!!!!!!
  8. Ok... you are right. I am not trying to yell, I promise. I am just trying to get my point across. From now on... duly noted on the caps. I am not the QB's daddy either. But since I took such a hard stance against the Wilco Trifecta against the passing game, I feel I still need to back it and my comments (especially after the new improvement). If you go back and read my post I never said that the passing game was "great" but better and also I never said that the TD throw was the "toughest throw in football", but a very difficult throw to complete. I clearly state that and you put words in my mouth each time in your post. I am excited that the QB is making tough throws now especially after the first games not so hot performances. All I want is the team to succeed and I just think they are better when they are balanced especially after last year. fbforme... I apologize. Go Rebels
  9. Yes, I did not know what happened to Keylo immediately. I APOLOGIZE FOR PUTTING EVERYONE IN SUSPENSE. That was not very smart on my part! Yes, Keylo has a deep bruise from what I heard as well. Hopefully, he is not out for very long. fbforme... All I know is the passing game looked a lot better THAN WHAT IT HAS BEEN! Plain and simple. This was the best game they have had so far. So, why keep on with the negativity. I think real Rebel fans should be excited that the passing game is taking positive steps instead of negative because it will only help them in the long run. Like I said, ALL THE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE MIGHT BE PAYING OFF. Which should be great for the later half of the season. The passing touchdown that happened before the half was HUGE. I remeber it A because it was huge for the team and it was over the LB'ers and between the safeties which is one of the hardest throws in football. Give them a break! The QB only threw a pick which to me looked like a bad coaching call that put the QB in a bad situation. The big thing was that the QB bounced back off an INT. Offense looked a lot better no doubt. Like I said we have to wait until next Friday to see if the offense holds true. Any way, all the way around a much better performance by the boys in maroon!!! On to Lousiville!!
  10. Great game Rebels!!!! Limited the penalties, run game was sound and all that previous game experience is starting to payoff for the passing game (as I stated before). Yeah sooooooooooo dumb pfffffff. Defense looking better as well, a well called game from the defensive side of the ball. Hillsboro is down this year which is amazing because I saw a lot of speed and talent on that team. The Rebels could be really good on offense if they can keep the secondary back with the passing game (Hillsboro was backed off, not like BGA, Christian, or Ooltewah with one of the best Dlines in the state), which will only open up the running game and make it easier for the oline and backs. Still have to see if they can do it two weeks in a row though. Prayers to friends and family of Keylo Lee. Lost a great player for the Rebels on offense and defense. He will be missed. He has been a great player for three years. 2-0 in the district Rebs!!! Keep it going!!!
  11. GOOD LUCK REBELS!!!!!! Hope the offense can give a good showing and that the whole team limits the penalties. Let get to 2-0 in the district.
  12. Hey Grasshopper... by the way they were ranked #2 not #3. Cant even get something that simple straight. This is my official ending with the Wilcos. Yall can talk all you want but it will never never ever prompt me to respond to you guys anymore. Wilcobest's arguments have no basis behind them and he/she manipulates and fabricates false quotes to his/her advantage. Which make debating an annoying headache. I am sure the rest of the members of Franklin post will appreciate this fued coming to end as it has takin its toll on the post and myself as well.
  13. Wilcobest... oh sorry GRASSHOPPER. please and I MEAN PLEEEAAASSEE!!!!! show me by posting my previous statement were I "contradict" myself. Which you dont even state what was contradicted in your first paragraph. Please post it again. I dont know where it is. ARGUMENT #1 HAHAHAHA all I can do is laugh. You can never quite get your arguments straight, and also, cant back your own attacks on me so you have to MAKE UP new ones out of thin air. Again, I was justifying the increase in passing attempts because they needed to get more reps to a less experienced player in live action against the weaker teams on their schedule. Since the phase of the game they are worst at IS the passing game. NOW... I NEVER and I mean NEVER SAID that a run-block is the same as a pass-block. (If I did prove me show me with my direct post and I will correct myself and announce you were right, but I doubt you will) YOU MADE THAT ONE UP. I said it is a rep and requires the same amount of work as any other ... which is very normal. Never did I say a run-block is a pass-block. Someone needs to go reread my post. ARGUMENT #2 ROFL HAHAHAHAHA this one is even better. "They got hurt in the passing game" which I did say. MEANT, now look at this Grasshopper, the DEFENSE got hurt in the passing game. You were so eager to strike back you ASSUMED that I was talking about OUR passing game. WOW! WOW! You know what happens when you ASSUME dont you? It makes you look like an A... which you should be use to by now. Grasshopper I cant tell you which one is false and which one is true because you DONT MAKE ANY SINCE. Ooltewah was a tough team and Franklin did not play well. They lost. Please, think before you type.
  14. Very very very disappointing game. They missed on field goals and they got hurt in the passing game. Limiting stupid penalities and special teams are going to have to get better for this team to consistently win. Plan and simple. Lets dont forget this is a good Ooltewah team either.
  15. I have to agree with Longhorns. The Rebels do need to get their passing game going to lighten up that pressure. Kuivenen will continue to get better with the coaching that he is getting. I too am worried about the defense' date=' especially if they have a good running game as Longhorn says they do. I've seen too many games where our defense justs plain gets run over (Oakland ) Go get em' Rebels. I'll be there as long as traffic doesn't stop me from getting there [/quote] Have a safe trip and we will have a burger or dog waiting on you. I hope the late afternoon storms we have been having this week pass us by tonight. Looking forward to another barn burner game and pray for no injuries to either side. Go Owls I LOVE IT!!! This is what high school football is all about! Sportsmanship and a great enviroment, cant wait to see yalls stadium and school. This should be a great game and everyone will get there moneys worth tonight. Thanks Owls... I WANT ONE OF THOSE BURGERS hahahaha. No injuries as well. Thanks Owls. Go Rebs!!!!!!!!
  16. And don't forget Keylo Lee! I do not think Kuivinen is the downfall. I think they have gotten better each week and will continue to get better. GO REBELS. Agreed... they need to get the passing game going to lighten up the pressure on the run game. I am hoping this is the week. Defense will be tested this week as well because they DO have a good running game. GO REBELS!!!!!!
  17. HAHAHA... MY incompetence. This just proves my point you guys have no idea what you are talking about. Your right though... I have Texas shorts, hat, shirt, mug, key ring, and license plate. Keep on guessing. The only mess I had to clean up was the crap you guys left on these boards.
  18. Ok, I will respond... the "Three Stooges" made me. POSSIBILTY? He stated twice this was the POSSIBLE year in his post. That sounds like someone trying to get a point across. Come on now, he bashed the Rebels in just about every aspect and was so sure that the Rebels were already looking down the schedule to Ooltewah, Hillsboro, and for some reason Brentwood. THE VERY LAST GAME OF THE YEAR, WOW. He was just leaving himself an out if he was wrong, which he was, and that is it? Now, he can say that he never predicted CHS to win, but if CHS did win he would be screaming "I told you so". Duh, duh, duh!!!!!!! I was not at the game, I had a serious family emergency out of state. But, I am sure you three didnt come up with my identity by yourselves. I feel honored that I am worthy of RESEARCH. Who did you guys hire... Inspector Gadget or Harry Crumb? Oh, did you guys notice that I didnt comment on the game... the reason is because I wasnt there. Some you guys should learn from that. My views on the Franklin players will not change and that is what this post is suppose to be about. Let me guess they didnt pass as much because this was the first district game and their passing game is not up to par. THAT IS WHY THEY THREW SO MUCH EARLY IN WEEK 0 and 1. Do you get the idea now? Work at the things you are not good at vs. teams that can not hurt you. Thats all I was saying but you guys want to drop the pass and stick to the run. In years past, that is not Franklin football. Let me tell you this, I could care less how close you are to me. You guys cant take a hint, everyone else on these posts share the same sentiment as me. You have been wrong constantly just hang it up. I am done and out. TOUGH ONE THIS WEEK REBS!!!!!!!! Go get em!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Listen up little-one, get your "Wilcos" straight. Because you must have me confused with either "shotgunner" or "football". I am pretty sure I have never "picked" a single game yet. I discuss topics surrounding upcoming games, not the probable outcome (because guessing on who wins with a bunch of high schoolers is exactly that... guessing) I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!! The "Wilco Trifecta" might be the most unorganized debaters I have ever come across in my life... thank god you guys arent attorneys becuase yall would be broke! Wilcobest, go read your very first post when you predict that this will be the year Centennial beats Franklin. Now, I hope everyone feels my pain when dealing with this "Wilco Trifecta". You guys cant back an argument and when you cant you guys change the subject. AGAIN, LOOKING FOR MY NEXT LESSON FROM YOU GUYS!! hahaha
  20. I defend the QB AND the passing game. I defend it because someone has to, everyone is so down on it that people dont realize there is improvement after week 0. I do see talent at the receiver position. As far as my comments about the coaches throwing more in a real game still stands. Experience is what a 15 year old sophmore lacks and it might be good to provide that experience in games that wont kill you in the long run... they are 2-0 so it hasnt. I never spoke of the inability of the offensive line, but rather their inconsistency. They are not as good as last year and they are young as well. You ask, "shouldnt the offensive line get the same chance to work the kinks out?". They do... on every play. Look, its not like the offensive line is dead in pass protection and, in my opinion, have to work on that as much as the running game. They have to check for blitzing linebackers and have to know how can they help in the certain protection and so on. So, really they are getting work on every play. Your constant nagging of the offensive production is just as annoying. I wont ever see it your way. So, you probably just ought to get used to the fact that I am never going to. Thats why there are always two sides to a debate. In fact, your idea of running a football program is ignorantly annoying. You believe because a team has 3 great running backs they should automatically drop the pass and focus on the run, as you said, like Oakland. I simply stated we dont have the personnel for it, which we dont. I have never heard of coach TOTALLY ditching one side of the offensive game plan. So, that idea right there shows your weak football theory. Relax, sit back, and just enjoy a good high school game tomorrow night. I will take fbforme's advice and I will chill but I do think people should chill on the offense as it is still week 2. GOOD LUCK REBELS CANT WAIT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!! FUN ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND COLLEGE ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I put this up AGAIN to so that you could re-read your post and my response. I believe I got your point. For sake of the thread I am done... this horse is beat up. Agree to disagree. I will never see it your way and you will never see it mine. GOOD LUCk REBELS GAME NIGHT!!!!!!
  21. The only probelm with your argument is... a pass block is nothing like a run block. An offensive lineman does not sit back and wait for the defense to come on a run play. We are talking about a difference between a first step forward and a retreat... and anyone that has common football sense knows the first step decides the play. So no, running pass plays over and over has no effect on their lackluster run blocking, which explains why they aren't getting better. IT IS A REP REGARDLESS BROTHER!!! I never said a pass block was like a run block. Go back and read my posts and you will never ever see me mention that. Then, go back and read YOUR argument. You said a pass block is not a rep and insinuated that because when they are pass blocking, which I am pretty sure they are slightly over on the run side vs. pass... slightly, the OL is not getting reps and I called bull crap. That was the argument. You are right about one thing though... and that is the first step matters. Doesnt matter which one it is, either front or back (retreat which you put) is all important. OL is not getting better... again it would have helped if you went to the game. The longest journey started with a single step. Sometimes a small gain is a big gain. Not much better this time either "Wilco Trifecta". Looking forward to my next lesson .
  22. HAHAHAHAH UNBELIEVABLE!!!! All I can say is unbelievable. I have never heard anyone say that pass pro is not a rep for the offensive line... haha so I guess the screens arent reps as well for linemen . Have you been to a football practice? For some programs that requires the most attention. They break it down with one on one's (OL vs. DL) and then bring it to group to acount for passing off or keying people when backers blitz. Pffffffffff... screens are another matter! Now, the linemen have to run out and get guys that are smaller and faster than them AND have to get the right people. YEAH... your right that doesnt sound like a rep. So, YES THEy GET REPS EVERYTIME THEY TAKE A SNAP. Pass pro is a major concern for balanced teams. SOOOO, Texas Tech... your telling me their a run first team pass second, Pur-lease. Yeah Texas Tech relied on the pass too much, . Their offensive production was amazing. Do you know what David Cutcliffe started out every game with? It was play action deep, and it was always somewhere in the first series. He wanted the defense to know that if you try to pack it in for the run, that he was gonna test you deep and you better be careful. Even if it was incomplete, the defense still has to respect it. I know why your WilcoShotgunner... you ve been shotgunnin too many . Start counting how many people that are inside the tackles and see how many you have blocking. Do the numbers. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!! Stick with your game and keep working hard!!
  23. I defend the QB AND the passing game. I defend it because someone has to, everyone is so down on it that people dont realize there is improvement after week 0. I do see talent at the receiver position. As far as my comments about the coaches throwing more in a real game still stands. 24. You can practice 7 days a week if you wanted to, but it can never TRULY simulate a real live game. The people, noise, band, the tempo of real game speed, game field instead of practice field, and officials can not be simulated... why do you think major colleges install sound systems on practice fields to simulate intense noise in a vistors home stadium. BECAUSE ITS MORE LIKE A GAME. Live action in a live game is the best experience for an athlete and thats why a lot of analyst talk about the "experience" factor. The best part of it is that the Rebels are 2-0 and they have been giving experience to the guys who need it the most. That is why I BELIEVE it will pay off in the end. Sounds like good planning and coaching to me.
  25. Yes I know the term "adapt". I dont even see the need to try and insult my intelligence when this is the first time you have even brought up the idea of "adapting" the offense. Look, the passing game is going to come along, and I am going to agree with you that it is not at the level it should be. BUT, I am not so quick to "adapt" the offense because I BELIEVE it will get better. Last year proved that Franklin knows how to pass the ball... just look at the stats, nuff said. Lets take the Oaklands Patriots of 08, where they balanced? No... you wanna know why... because of their offensive linemen. Did you see them last year... one of the biggest and most talented group of guys in the entire state. Now, obviously, you have seen Franklin's line this year. (I am just making an obvious point and think other people would agree with me and I AM NOT calling out these young men) Franklin's line does not compare to Oakland's 08 team so I dont think they could adapt even if they wanted to. Just because you have 3 great backs doesnt mean you will be a successful running team because it starts with the guys up front creating the right holes for them to run through.
