  1. As usual Kaz you hit the nail squarely on the head! Harsh, yes, but true, absolutely!
  2. It always amazes me how people with very little "real" knowledge of the game of basketball always go to the issue of fundamentals. Why is this? I will tell you why. Because when you have very little real knowledge of the game the only thing you notice are the fundamentals. While fundamentals are important there is alot more to the game than teaching fundamentals, especially at the high school level.
  3. Smart move Sunbright! Get rid of a quality, experienced coach, and end up with his former assistant, a head coach with no coaching experience at all, and a jr. pro coach. I simply can't understand the logic behind this. Could the administration there please explain the logic behind this move, I for one would love to know! At least they do have a win under the belt. this team has some potential and a big upside over the next few years.
  4. Recipe for Success: 1. I think getting a proven head coach to come to JC would be nearly impossible. 2. Go after a quality assistant coach from a proven program 3. Does not even have to be a cooridantor, a posistion coach would be fine 4. Give whoever it is four years minumum to turn things around 5. Have the arm-chair quarterbacks keep their mouths shut and let the guy do his job 6. Get the community to support football like they do girls basketball (of course a winning program is easier to support) Don't know names, but here are some possiblities: Runnings backs coach at Trousdale, any assistant from York or Oneida (both teams have been winning and one of the assistants may be ready for the next level), Clay County OC, Cannon county running backs coach, Special teams coach at Scott. Good list to pick through and who knows one of them might be interested.
  5. Really? That is interesting. Someone should try to find room for him. He was a good coach, and someone should get him coaching again......this season!
  6. Ok, so they did keep it close for awhile? That might be a good sign, if they can learn to stay strong for 4 quarters they could possibly get things going. What did you take from the new coach? What philophies is she now teaching? What offense, defense, press, etc.? I had been hearing that maybe there was still alot of what Davis ran being used, especially on offense. By yhe way, is last years assistant still with the team? Bottom line, is 10 wins possible, and a win or two in the district? What is your opinion, or is it still too early for you to come to that conclusion?
  7. Since this is actually a Sunbright thread and not a Wartburg coaching thread, I would like to get back to the topic at hand. Sunbright falls in their HOF game by more than 20! Should this be reason for concern? I personally did not see the game so can't comment on what actually happened. I would like to hear from some of those who did see the game.
  8. OK, think before you speak! " a joke of a coach", no joke of a coach takes a team to the state tournament. I know the foundation had been layed by Dallas Davis for success, however you don't get to the state tournament without having some coaching knowledge!
  9. OK, back to the topic at hand, and not Morgan Cunty politics. 1. Oliver Springs 2. Coalfield 3. Oneida 4. Wartburg 5. Oakdale 6. Sunbright This is how I see it.
  10. Sounds like things may be falling into to place for them. I certainly hope so, i know I have been on record stating this was a poor move, however it may end up being the right move afterall. If the girls appear to be responding to her it may push this team to its potential. How many games do you see this team winning this season? How many did they win last season? If she stays there a few years with the young talent they could be a solid team down the road.
  11. How have things been going since the new coach has arrived? What philoshies does she coach? will she bring an entirely new system? Did she retain the former assistants or did she bring her own staff? Are 10 wins possible this season? I spoke with one of the parents on the middle school team, and all appears to be moving in the right direction there. Improving every game. So adjusting to a new coach has not been an issue for the middle school team.
  12. Well at least they finally got a coach. Maybe she can come in and do some good things. It amazes me me how the administration at Sunbright caved in to pressure from the parents. Who is in charge there, anyway. As someone pointed out they did win only one game last year. who knows this may work out in their favor.
  13. Please! Read the whole thread and find out who the classless one are!
  14. We have! Doesn't seem to work out for us! Yes you are correct you have no shot at all in round one. congrats on making it and good luck!
  15. True, oh classless one! but if they played in region 1 I could assure you they would have made it the last three years. Four years ago, no, but the last three...YES!
