Was the coach bad when he coach the team to the state title game 15 years ago? When I saw Meigs I saw very little effort from them, I don't think they crossed their own 40 yard line against the opponent's starting defense, but the coaches can't be out there on the field blocking and tackling. I don't know what you saw 15 yrs ago, but he is not the same coach now. If you'd watched him a little closer you'd have seen him mowing the grass during practice, he didn't go in the locker room at halftime, and was very quiet on the sidelines during a game. How many head coaches act like that?

I heard that the parents went to the principal and stated the facts. Several talented kids would be moving to another program if things didn't change. They were very serious and had already started to make plans. Already lost Nathan Bradford, moved to Cleveland, because of it. Two of the coaches stated they didn't have any players that deserved awards for the banquet. They were told to GET awards. The kids played their heart out. The SAME plays were called over and over, didn't take long for the other teams to figure it out. Even the players could see the problem, but couldn't do anything about it. It can't get any worse.

Meigs lost 5-3 to Sequatchie in the Hixson Wildcat Classic.

Fired.... finished with football but will teach until end of year. Not sure about the rest.

Meigs beat Kingston Wednesday night. Playing Arts & Sciences tonight at 5.

Guess Meigs County will be looking for a new Head football coach.... Eller is no longer.

Meigs beat Chattanooga Christian 11-10. It didn't look good going into the 7th inning. Meigs was down 10-6 I think. Bases were loaded with no outs and Meigs came back. Playing Kingston tonight at home at 5.

Meigs has started off good this season. We've had 4 players to hit homeruns in 3 games. We're playing as a team. Ryan Goines, Dillon McKinney, Spencer Crabtree and Jamie Eden all hit HR's. Congratulations to them and hopefully there's more where that came from. I think the teams will be a little more even this year.

The BIGGEST problem is running the same play over and over and over. It would help if the coaches would motivate the team, that is what a good coach does.

.....and he should be concerned. Since he hasn't changed anything from last season, we can only expect this season to be the same. If our games continue like our scrimmages.....we will be at the bottom of the list.

Can anyone from Cumberland Co verify if the team will travel to Meigs Co? We heard several rumors that the game was cancelled.

Does anyone know if Cumberland Co is still coming to Meigs? I heard budget cuts stopped it. Anyone know for sure?

I know alot of you saw the Meigs vs ER game....no comments? It shouldn't take years to improve a team, halftime would be a good start. If going up the middle ain't working....try something else, duh! There was a little variety in this game, but a few good players on the sidelines when the team needed them. It seems the coaches can't agree on player positions.

WOW.....where do we start? Administrators kids aren't involved right now, they filled the teaching positions with bodies, Head coach 'watches' practices and speaks very little, haven't seen him do much in the game, coaches don't motivate kids at halftime...most don't say anything, stupid decisions on the playing field, UNSUPERVISED players in the fieldhouse, (bledsoe just had legal problems with that...wakeup coaches), we don't watch films of our games or opponents, the reason for only a few coaches is that they don't want outsiders or volunteers to help, they just want to do it their way--WIN OR LOOSE---, 0-4 and we haven't even been 'in the game' going into the 4th quarters, Coach Eller never shows any emotion as if he's content with losing. Coach Eller either rolled on talent or had some really good asst. coaches in the 90's. This doesn't have to be a rebuilding year, didn't these same kids go undefeated in juniors (little league)? There is a lot of talent, it's just not being used to it's potential. The players, as a group, feel the coaches have no confidence in them. If the coaches don't believe and give 110%, the kids can sense that and they have no confidence in themselves. In most jobs if you don't give 100%....you get fired. The parents and fans can see this......why can't those in charge see it? Let's fix it NOW....not next year.

Someone said he must have been provoked....yes he was! Moses put his hand under Shoots face mask and busted his nose. Didn't anyone see him wiping the blood for 15 minutes afterward? Shoot is a very good player and I've never seen him take a cheap shot. This one was deserved. To clear up another dispute...... The HEAT was on in the locker room. The SRO said it took hours to find someone to turn it off. If it wasn't on, how could someone turn it off? Class....or lack of it.....that says it all. Central has always been like this...even people from other communities have heard about their cockiness. Central does have a very good team, I think we all knew that without having to be shown in such a way. [/font]
