  1. It'd be interesting for GP to play Alcoa? See what the Ogle QB when he's got someone hitting him all night. God bless when and if they get a chance to play them.
  2. Polk Co seems to have a hard nose defense. It'll prob be hard for anyone to score on them. How many shutouts have they had this year?
  3. Alcoa is the ruler of 2A football. I think they'll be state champions once again.... uncontested
  4. I don't think the Sweetwater program is at a new low. If anything they're just not sure of their potential. I think that Coach Staff and his assistants have to sit down and determine, with what atheletes they are given, their strengths and weakness' are. I think they have several good atheletes on the field each week. I will state this: I didn't like, that against Loudon, they had Tyler Richesin on the defense. He's been the offensive machine this year and it'd make sense to keep him that way. I could tell by the end of the second quarter that he'd expelled most of his energy. I know the Loudon coaches had spent lots of effort within their game plan to stop his timing on throws and his runs. My hats off to Loudon coaches in knowing what to do to eliminate any potential threats. I think that if the coaches would key in on what the Wildcat capabilities are, and utilize them to their FULL potential, they'd be okay. I know as the young men and personnel change from year to year it's hard to put it all together. Let's just hope the coaches mature together and find out what they can and can't do. I'm not giving up on them and think the kids are playing with lots of heart. I do think some of the younger members need to mature and "step it up". Coach Staff and Wilcat fans do not need to give up. I look forward to Polk Co and some more good football from these young men and the Wildcat coaching staff.
  5. I'll go with Polk Co in this one. I'll predict: Polk Co. 55 Grundy Co. 6 Polk County has lots of class and I respect that. They are a good team this year, I think they'll call them off in the second half.
  6. Sweetwater coming off of a "heartbreaker" loss from a "never give up" Rockwood team. Rockwood was down 21-7 4th qtr and managed to come back for last second field goal to win. This was a region game and shouldn't have been a loss. Sweetwater, should have, and did learn from this. I don't think it'll happen again this year, with the Sweetwater senior leadership. Berrong, Blomstrom, Daniel, Richesin and Gibson will keep driving to make this team better. Look for T Richesin to have a good game and be prepXtra player of the week. I'm picking: Sweetwater 28 Loudon 12
  7. Rockwood is scrappy! I look for it to be close and they'll have some surprises for Sweetwater, especially in the passing game. From what I did see last week, the corners are fast and are capable of staying up with the receiver. They don't play the ball like they should. Tyler Richesin, as I can't help but think, is the best QB in 2A this year.... he has great arm, accelerates fast and has very strong legs. Sammy Blomstrom will be pulling down a couple of his throws at opportune times. I was pretty close last week with my prediction with Tellico. This week I predict: Sweetwater -27 Rockwood - 19 Predictions is just for fun to see how close I can be. Good luck to both - stay healthy and have a GREAT Region game.
  8. Prediction Sweetwater 49 Tellico 13. I expect Tellico to have lots of heart, but they do lack the atheletes. I know that Tyler Richesin is for real, and like stated earlier, he is one of the best High School QB (atheletes)- I've seen in this state. I was hesitant to say that last year. I would suspect D1 Schools will be looking on. There are a handful of others as well... Go CATS!
  9. I think Sweetwater will dominate. Meigs Co. took Sequoyah easily in the jamboree 14-6. The Sweetwater scrimmage vs. Meigs: the Wildcats 2nd team vs. Meigs first, the result was a Sweetwater victory. C Gibson, T Richesin, S Blomstrom, J Berrong = good senior leaders. They've been winners before and seen hard times, look for them to have a hardnosed spirit. They will give it their all. Sequoyah, I do believe, has high hopes. Good luck!
