  1. Salecreek is spot on. If issues from last week are resolved then I see a easy and huge Rebel win, but if they continue the there is the possibility for upset. It'll be a long season for the Rebs if we lose at home tonight. No Excuses why there shouldn't be a win tonight for FC. Devour, devour its your final hour!! The Rebel army is preparing for war. The Pioneers leave when we are through with them and let them leave!
  2. With Warren County coming in 1-2 and FC coming into this game 1-1, who's gonna come out on top and why? What are gonna be the game makers and game breakers for each team? Is it glory for the Pioneers or redemption for the Rebels? Thoughts?
  3. Ok here's the basic breakdown of the game. Shelbyville's cool head won this game for them. HANDS DOWN. The break away 97 yard touchdown in response to FC's touchdown was brilliant. FC entered this game tonight with the intent to win, and I don't mark that up to watching an idiot like Blount disgrace himself in front of a national audience. Kudos for Shelbyville for the win well deserved, and to FC you got what was coming. "WAIT REBEL MACON! I THOUGHT YOU WERE A FC FAN?!" Folks, I love the FC, but tonight was a display of what is becoming a growing cancer of arrogance within our team morale. A disrespect for true sportsmanship has overcome a true respect for the game. Focus tends to fly more towards those who are perceived as talented (based off plays called), and those who line the sideline know that their chances to get into the action are slim to none. This is killing us slowly. Here were the major issues I saw tonight from the FC side of things: TOO MANY INFRACTIONS, TOO MUCH TIME CALLING PLAYS, TOO DEPENDENT ON THE TALENT OF A FEW INDIVIDUALS, LACK IN COMMUNICATION ON THE SIDELINES, HORRIBLE USE OF TIMEOUTS, NOT ENOUGH PERSONAL DISCIPLINE, AND LETTING THE GAME GO IN THE FINAL MINUTES OF THE GAME BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN ARROGANCE. 1. Too Many infractions- fundamentals fundamentals fundamentals Wait! Too many men on the field during a punt? Fundamentals 2. Too Much Time Calling Plays- There was way too much time spent tonight trying to relay the call to the field. There were too many times during the game where the guys had this deer in the headlights look when it was go time. I was in the stands and I could see it. The part that mystified me was that I saw that too many times ON THE FIRST DOWN OF A STARTING DRIVE. The offense should have been deciding their first move during the defense's time on the field. So when they stepped out on the field, they would know what their first drive was gonna be. This led to a few burned timeouts. 3. Too Dependent on the Talent of a Few- This was a major problem for FC last year and once again the ugly beast rears its head. Shaquille Shedd was it last year. This year it is focused on more than just a singular person. It's a step in the right direction. I do not believe any player needs to be playing both sides of the ball. It creates to great a strain on the talent that you do have never letting it fully develop into what it could be. The strain it places on the individual begins to show itself by the end of the game and things get sloppy. Case in point: tonight. 4. Lack of Communication on the Sidelines- This touches back on 2. The part that was killing me that between a shouting search for missing players and half the team involved in their own conversation during the game, I didn't see a great deal of communication between the players on the sideline. When players made big mistakes that hurt the team, I didn't see a one of their teammates call them out on it. If a player is not on the field, they should still be actively involved in the game. Instead about what they are gonna do after the game, they should be looking for the weaknesses and tendencies that can be exploited of individual players of the other team. Anything that can contribute to the success of the team should be communicated between teammates. 5. Timeouts- Ball out of bounds + Timeout= waste of timeout. Just one example of what I saw tonight. This came back to haunt us during the final Shelbyville possession. Just something from tonight we need to think about. May have been a bad night thing, but be thinking about it. 6. Personal Discipline- IF YOU MAKE PERSONAL FOULS YOU DO NOT PLAY! I.E. #90 spouting off and instigating too much, and the pointless roughhousing of Martin during the interception. Uncalled for, un-sportsman like, and shows a total lack of respect for the game itself. I realized you can get worked up, but tonight was ridiculous. The part that killed me was that these kids got away with it on the field, and seemed to know that regardless of what they did they were going to stay in the game. There must be immediate action to reinforce the fact that they are embarrassing themselves, their family, and their team. Don't get me wrong I love passionate players. However, there is a point where you start looking like an idiot. Hate to say I saw that tonight. 7. Letting go of the game in the final minutes of the game because of arrogance- When you down by one, DON'T THINK YOU'VE WON. HOLY BROWN COW IN INDIA. I saw alot of arrogance in just the last 1:30 of the game. FC beat themselves on this. FC was a night and day comparison between game 1 and 2. What happened? Did one game go to their heads? I don't know. Highlights of the season so far: Jeremy Wooten- This young man as the ability to think on the fly and I can see that developing just between these two games. He has made some split second decisions that have contributed to major yardage during the games. He isn't afraid to push himself and the ball forward when the pressure is closing in. I'd like to see his passing game develop and be utilized a little more, and think that he and the team could benefit all around by passing in general. FC has been smash-mouth, up the gut ball for years, but I think that there is the potential for great passing game. Nick Parks- To me this guy exemplifies what the heart and soul of this team should be. Even from the stands you can feel his intensity, dedication, and drive to succeed in the game. When he is on the sidelines, he is constantly working to improve his game and keep morale up. Not to mention, this guy is a bulldog on the field. He has been dynamic so far this year, and really proved himself on special teams. For one, he refuses to quit. This is the drive that FC needed tonight but the team just seemed to be missing. Cody Jernigan- Great interception tonight. Keep your eyes open and be aware, and you too can be an interceptor. Kudos to this young man. Wish the offense could have done something with the ball to take advantage of it. I am gonna be looking for this guy in the future. So, unless some of these things are taken care of I think its gonna be a long season for the FC fans. Once again, congrats to Shelbyville for the win and your 3-0 record, and hope that ya'll can keep it up. To FC, let's shape it up or its gonna be a rough game against Warren County next week.
  4. From an FCHS fan... I think I just peed myself from sheer laughter.....ROFLMAO.....NO SARCASM HERE...Great points subtly put across the table.....Well written....
  5. It's a shame that I have to go to this game without the whole bleachers coaching staff...Reble_Pride.... Anyways, I don't really know what to think about this game. If FC plays the way that they did against Coffee County in the second half of that game then I see it being a very close game with a Rebel win. Otherwise chalk one up for Cookeville. I'll be there with a few others. GO REBS!!!!!
  6. ELA is doing great things with the FC program. I saw the passion as a leader that I've been looking for in the second half. FC was fired up, and began to play as a team. This is the first team game I've seen with the exception of the Warren County game. Focus was taken off of particular players to be the team star, and the kids started playing their positions. Great hits in the second half too. We went from playing two hand touch to connecting pads. I hope ELA could hear me Rebel_Pride, and FCMcCall yelling the whole first half, and we definitely heard him yell at the team to get the crowd into it. I saw a glimpse of what FC football should be, and has a tradition of being. We've lost that somewhere, and I think ELA is fighting hard with a few dedicated fans to bring that attitude back to FC. GREAT JOB COACH, and Tell the Boys thank you from some proud fans and alumni! GO REBS!!! LETS KEEP IT ROLLING!!!
  7. I want to see FC win, but I'm gonna have to say its going to Coffee County. My superstitions will be back in play this week and maybe they will do some good. ELA is a strong coach and I could see he's trying to make this team work. The JV team is looking good and I know there will be many years of good FC football to come. As for this week I hope to see a close game at Coffee County.
  8. Turnovers were the name of the game tonight. I'll admit my predictions were wrong, and I am superstitious enough to believe its because I left the "Helmet" at home. I saw some potential in the drive during the third quarter, but was not surprised when the pass was picked off. There was no tiring but definitely there was some quitting. The coaching staff did all they could to get the players to get out there and do what was needed. When they listened it worked. I have to say that ELA sideline talk at the half looked pretty intense, and I wish I could have been close enough to hear what has been said. I believe in ELA, and support him as a coach. Let work towards a Reb win next week.
  9. I'm not saying that there will be a blow out, but I definitely believe the spread will be more than 7. Once again it will be a close game at halftime, and FC will pull a win out if they can change their second half. It may be a closer game than I think, but "My Gut" hasn't been wrong so far. I've been on the money the whole season. I'm not afraid to admit when we are gonna lose, and I just don't see a loss this week.
  10. Mark another win up for Franklin County this week. Don't feel like it is gonna be as close of a game this week. Franklin County has been habitual about giving up in the second half of the game, and I hope its a different game this week. I think it will be.
  11. Close Game last week, and another close game this week. Franklin County has been rapidly progressing each week, and if they can keep the momentum up from the primary drives we might see a win. FC has really developed as a team since that first game against Wilson Central, and I think we'll see another major development in the offense and defense. Mark a close game with a LC win though. Tough team.
  12. Its gonna be a close game. I have a seen a Franklin County team growing by leaps and bounds each week, and I have a feeling that they are not gonna go down quietly on this one. Oakland has a good team from everything I have heard although they had a close one with Coffee County. I'm gonna have to go with Oakland with the win, but I wouldn't be suprised if an over confident Oakland team underestimates a quickly growing Frankin County team. If that is the case, we are talking major upset. I just don't know if the Franklin County defense will be ready for the high scoring Oakland offense. Shedd will be wore out by the end of this game, and I'd personally like to see him focus solely on offense for Franklin County. Defense has to make harder stops than they have the last few games for this one different. No two hand touch. Zero in onyour man, and stick them. If so we have the formula for an upset, but as of right now I'm gonna have to mark it up to Oakland.
  13. Great game Coach. It was more of a glimpse of what I've been expecting. It was good to see the offense at work with some great passes thrown tonight. I'm ready for next week.
  14. It was nice to see a fairly full visitors side in Tullahoma the other night. What can we do to build more excitement though? Talented team, great coach, and a games this week that I feel will start the ball rolling. Fair-weather fans can go on. I was proud to buy my first set of season tickets this year, and I'm gonna try to hold on to those seats for as long as possible. I see the potential and the talent of the team. "This Rebel football team has some talent, however, they have to learn to play as a team for four quarters of football and learn to trust in each other. In the first quarter we saw what they are capable of and I believe we will see that again very soon! It was good to see them come out and start well... we just need to sustain the energy and enthusiam for four quarters."-ELA ELA is right on the money, and I know as a coach he can help them to see the need for the teamwork and trust. I look forward to the game Friday night, and I am becoming more confident that it will be a win. Anybody wanna set up plans to tailgate? It'd be great to build the Rebel Army up to where it needs to be. I'll have my helmet on ready for the game!!lol.
  15. So lets hear the thoughts on the FC vs. WC game for this week. I have to say that looking at the schedules and records so far, I'm warranting that this is going to be a close game. A glimpse of what can be was seen in Franklin County @ the game with Tullahoma. The first drive was beautiful, and showed the true potential of this team. I have to give Coach A credit. However, after the first THS touchdown the team morale seemed to nose dive. The excitement that came on the feild seemed to disappear in the players, and instead of using that competitive drive to their full advantage the heads began to hang. In the technical aspect, if FC can tighten up special teams on punt return, and keep the team drive it would be highly beneficial. Field position was nothing much to be wished for. If FC can get these going, I forsee a good chance to win. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to mark up a win to a Warren County team that shut out Shelbyville last week. It'll be a decent game, and I'll be hoping for a Rebel win. GO REBS!!!
