ok the last time polk played tyner (in 2004 i think) polk was slow as heck.. i know cause i played and tyner was far from slow... we had every chance to win that game... and i believe we lost by 7... but i brought this up to show you that speed is not that much of a game changer in certain situations... now it may be different come friday, but polk is way faster now than in past years maybe ever as a whole team... south pitt may have more overall speed... however, when you stay at home and play your position the way your coached to speed is contained... polks d (and even the o) is very disciplined and is capable of that... this game has so many different aspects from each team i just dont see it bein a blowout on either side... this should be the game of the year in the chatt area if both teams show up... i cant wait for this game... long drive but i think it will be worth it... good luck wildcats...

Polk should win this game easy... as for the next few weeks (south pitt & playoffs) polk will bit off more than they can chew if they have to play alcoa... it would be awesome if they somehow win that game if it is played but the chances are slim.... good luck wildcats and i cant wait til the south pitt game, should be a great one to watch

Allen isnt the only player on this team... I remember last year when yall had nothing good to say bout him... Polk isnt like Tellico and only revolves around one player... How many Carries does O'dell have... Prob twice as many as all the Polk back put together and one of Polks running backs have have well over 700 or so yards and 9 or 10 TDs... I say Polk takes this game just cause the leadership and unselfishness... Polk 40-50 Some where in that range will be the score Purple T 0-14 well i for one would be curious to see how things turned out if #12 was put to running back... and he could be a split out threat too... then a trick play would always be an option with him to throw it or run it or whatever... but i think the backup is a good player... he runs hard too... but #12 is the starter... i think that would spice things up a bit and add another aspect to the offense... just me speaking out at random... i hope the guys have fun in the mud tomorrow night... good luck wildcats... get the job done and focus on the task at hand...

He is not coaching, and i think he is teaching this year then retiring...... but im not real sure on the teaching part... and polk NEEDS EVERY game this year and every other year... they are good but south pitt will really really really really really really test the wildcats... if they (S.P) beat boyd, i dont see polk putting a win in the column come south pitt... but if they lose to boyd, then i think polk will be able to keep it close and possibly win if polk comes to play...

Polk should win this one easy.. i have made some new friends at school that played at tellico and they said that tellico is MUCH improved from past years... however, polk should role on homecoming night i do believe

go polk they should win this game fairly easy.. im with charlie the starters should see more playing time.. senior starters are playin less than some freshman in the past few games... you dont have to leave all of em in just roll some starters in every play and let them play if its a blow out or not... and its bad that their band is gettin more attention on this board than the team

the kid had a really bad stinger from what i was told during the game by a chatt player and it was just a precaution that they hauled him off he should be fine.. i do believe that polk will win this game, good luck to the wildcats from benton

dont take my previous post the wrong way about the bradley coaches, my post is MY opinion not anything else, and they did a decent job for the most part the bears were in the game all the way til the end

im gonna be honest with my opinion, bradley could have spanked us if the coaching was better... it seemed like we ran the same play over and over again but it worked so why run somethin different?.. and the bears had talent in plenty of places but they were hard nosed one play then took a few plays off it seemed like.. once again that comes down to coaching and pride from the players... polk was the better team by far and even we had some coaching boofs but stuff happens.. i just hope that polk will just learn from this game and get ready for the chargers!!!! congrats to polk im so glad the wildcats won, i really wasnt looking forward to readin everything on here if we lost.. but i think the bears showed a lot of respect after the game, and that is much appreciated.. the little outfits the bears fans had on in the spirit line were funny, it made the people who were wearin them look dumb as h**l after the game... great game to watch very intertaining!!! good luck to the bears for the rest of the season

Smokey you should see the thread in the AAA forum.. but anyway to comment about allwaysright's post... i think making the playoffs 8 seasons straight (i think its 8) is way better than goin half a decade without bein above .500 in a season.. weak schedule or not we used to play a very tough region in the playoffs and they could easily beat the bears just like they have beat us.. sure your records have sucked for the past few years and sure you play tough teams but your school is huge and your communtiy could be a lot more supportive (makes a world of difference, and cocky is not supportive) that is somethin fairly small that is an easy fix... next goes to little leage and feeder systems, ours is great and that helps in the long run.. about the size of your school, you have a ton of kids to pick from, so bc should be stacked with talent year in and year out, however coaching plays a huge roll in that.. not sayin your coaches are bad cause i have no clue but that really does make a difference... o and by the way you can tell a lot about a team from a scrim. thats kinda why they do it.. have u ever heard you play like you practice? if you look at a scrim. like its nothin then you will have no "game like" practice by the time the season starts, and believe it or not that matters

i think uptight might be the wrong word.. possibly... but i think the big thing with polk playin bradley is all about respect and pride... no matter how bad we have won in the past in any sport bradley shows no respect.. i guess we are just hicks in the eyes of bradley fans and players.. we beat bradley in a spring scrim my senior year and after the srim some players were sayin we suck goin through the line to shake hands... we won but we are the ones who suck???? there is no respect or honor in that.. if we win it would be nice to see or hear some comments about our team, if we lose then im sure MOST polk fans will be mature about it and admit the bears are the better team either on that night or just period... i would love for polk to leave no doubt about who the better is.... good luck to polk and i hope both teams have an injury free game..

i was wondering if anyone was gonna mention this game.. the drama was what made the game what it was.. and the rivalry/hate between the two schools is almost unmatched in this area.. i played in this game, and from a polk point of view this was a terrible game for us... we blew a big lead and ran out of gas at the end... but in my eyes our very next game was the best ive seen/played in it was against norte dame (2007 season) and we won by one point with no time on the clock and it was a agme for the decade i think.. it was the number three game of the entire season according to the Chattanooga times free press in their sports section.. anyone who seen this game will admit in was an amazing game...

i think polk should come out on top in this game.. polk is probably as fast overall as a polk team has ever been.. maybe even as strong as ever and they are fairly small... BC should know from past years (scrim.'s) that polk plays hard til the end.. i think polk will just be the better team from the 1st minute til the last minute.. and dont worry about that new offensive coordinator the offense seems to be clicking pretty good as far as i know... and i think the biggest diff will be how the polk players will play with that polk pride from the first snap, and the small school helps here cause most of these boys have played together for a long time and they have good team leadership.. should be a great game to start the season... from reading all the posts so far it seems there is some hostility from fans, lets just put our opinion in and go on, you dont have to like it and neither do i but thats how it is.. now having said that i think this thread is still better than the one on the AA boards

polk wildcat its about time you got on here! but anyway i was told loudon was pretty dang good this year so this should be a great test for polk before the season opener.. i hope polk does good and i hope the scrim goes injury free for both sides.. ill be here for this one without a doubt.. when i played loudon played like us (hard hitting) so this scrim should be packed with good hard hits and smash mouth football.. best of luck to the wildcats for this season it should be a good one!!

the score may be worse than i predicted then.. who knows for sure though... size might be a problem for polk, kinda doubt it, but thats about the only area where polk is slacking from what i hear

I heard a lot of good things about polk.. as a matter of fact i got a text saying that polk was really good this year during the scrim. i wish i would have went it seems like a missed a good showing from polk

i think polk will come out on top in this game.. i think people will say (as far as bradley goes) if they win well they are like a 6A school so they "should win" so nothin is proved by this game.. (however polk always plays hard and tough) and if B.C. was to lose then the big school gets beat by the smaller school which will then make people either say polk is for real and can play, or that B.C. is a joke.. should be a lot of people at this game and SHOULD be a good game.. i do believe its being called the battle of the borders or somethin like that, maybe hinting at a new rivalry?????? anyway im gonna guess Polk- 28 Bradley- 14 (just my guess though, ive not seen either team play yet and only seen polk practice once.. just goin by hear say)
