I hope polk does good this year, a lot of the players have improved greatly (so i hear from good sources).. the schedule should make for some great games and i think the big opener against bradley central will have a ton of people there.. im curious to see how this season goes, in the murphy fair book polk is picked to win the district i think (im not sure which is which after the change to everything)... lot of returning starters, lots of speed (for a polk team), good strength, tough schedule, good coaches, good athletes, polk pride, the list goes on... not sure whats going against them besides maybe size but thats about all i know of... should be a good year for the wildcats.. ill be there friday for the E.R. scrim. to see how that goes.. best of luck to the wildcats GO POLK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cleveland has a good coach and a good program.. tough luck late in the season for cleveland, and tough luck having to play maryville in the first round... good luck to cleveland in this one.. i think if cleveland keeps it close then they can travel back to bradley county with their heads up... maryville is too good... i hope this game is injury free for both sides and good luck the rest of the way to the winner and safe travels

a few more soph. starters i think on the line and maybe special teams.. i'm not real sure though.. no freshmen start.. and by week 11 i don't think they are young anymore that is a lot of game time... i don't know what number he is someone just said he has over 1000 yards and that is pretty good... but i would bet he has more carries then the other backs...

good luck to both teams in this one.. white house has a great program and community with a lot of class.. ER is building with thier new coach but still gotta show some love for region 3, so i will pull for ER but i don't see it happening... hope the game is injury free on both sides and have a safe trip to the game for those that are traveling

it is nice to see central fans supporting us, you have to have region pride too outside of the team pride.. it was intersting to see that one guy has rushed for over 1000 yards... and they run a wing-t??? that is a sign of an off beat wing-t if you will... now i am not saying that you guys can't run it i am just stating my biased opinion on the wing-t... i think it is designed to spread the ball around and have a bunch of different looks (formation wise) and keep the other team on their feet... polk has spread the ball out really well this year, and last year i think all three of us (the RB's) had around the same amount of carries and stuff... but i have never seen two wing-t O's go at it... i'm curious as to how the defenses will play since both teams have the same type offense.. i have a feeling that some players will try to guess a little more than usual on where the ball will go, which could cause problems... good luck to polk i will not be making the trip to SC, but i assure you guys that polk will still bring a crowd... we always do... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

whats up everyone?? i finally get to post now that my internet works again.. i have had to go to lupton library the past few days and have not had time to get on here... but one comment i have is that it is weird that polk threads get worse and worse as the weeks go by... tough luck to the wildcats last week, good luck this week with the irish.. they are not the best team this year but it is always a decent game between the two.. last year's game was number 3 in the top five moments from 2007 in the preseason prep blitz of the chatt times free press... i kinda doubt this years will be as good but it should be decent... i say polk wins this one.. maybe a little struggle in the first half, but they should take care of business... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ... it's funny that the majority of the posts are between about 4 people, i know who you are but i'm not sure of your profile names yet, but i have my ways of finding out don't i limpyb..

it's not long until game time... good luck polk i hope you get the win... i think polk won the region last in either 88 or 89 but i'm not sure.. i think it was coach davis' senior year.. but once again not sure... i hate to see a good thread go bad.. i knew this couldn't be a decent topic... to many people that can't except that either team can win any day of the week.. its nice to see that so many adults have nothing better to do then get on here and talk nothing but GARBAGE to each other.. if you wanna talk smack meet each other in a controlled environment and settle it there, but be able to admit your wrong sometimes (you know cause everyone is wrong at least once in their life).. but please just say your opinion and move on don't let people get you fired up that makes you drop to their level, which is sad... and don't assume it was polk people that messed with your field i didn't assume that it was charger fans that messed with ours.. coaches sometimes do display weird ways of motivating their teams, it could have been them, remember you are innocent until proven guilty.. but anyway hope everyone has a safe trip to and from the game and i hope both teams come out injury free there are still games to be played after this one... good luck to the wildcats i hope this game is as great as last years!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

very true.. is everyone healthy this week for polk and central???? i haven't heard anything so far

all posts have been really good so far.. lots of good points and opinions... i played in that amazing game last year and i will tell you right now even though we lost i will never forget that game!!!!! its so hard to decribe this type of game in words, but i will try.. its one of those where you go out and there is nothing else in the world that matters, the only thing you want to do is beat the team you have waited to play for a year... every hit, every run, every play is played by every player like it is their last.. the coaches prepare a little bit extra for practice and go that extra mile during the walk-throughs on monday and thursday, the film room is dead silent after every practice (except the coaches of course) because the players are trying to get that extra edge on the guys they will go up against on friday night.. to play in that game is not just a privaledge its an honor!!! the fans get the loudest they have been all year.. that "popcorn starts popping and the band starts playing", and all of a sudden all those summer workouts and all those practices are worth it when you break a big run or make that key tackle... the feeling that you get when the crowd is standing up cheering for you and the student section chants your name is nearly impossible to match.. to all the current players out that that might read this go out there and play like its your last down every down no matter what.. for you seniors this is it, the last time you will play each other ( polk v central), make it one you will never forget!!! i wish the best of luck to the wildcats and i hope they can get the win.. and it doesn't matter who beat who by how much.. this is a HUGE rivalry game.. records, past wins/losses, stats, none of that matters anymore, expect the unexpected, play hard and who knows what will happen.. i will be at this game i hope i get to see a good one, GO POLK!!!!!

i hate lee corso!!!! he gets on my nerves... but it is hard to bet against polk at home in the "den", and your right seq. would have a better chance if it was at the "chop house", then they could wet the field and everything (like last year).. but yeah i say your right polk will take care of things.. and yes we ALL know where you will be, right beside BUNNY a.k.a SLEDGE a.k.a OLE BLUE.. and if you see him before the game tell him it ain't DAY time anymore for me... is it true seq. has a three game win streak???

ok ladies here it is.. jug you can't believe anything stephen says even if you see it... and bo is on here but he wouldn't tell me his name and if he is going to play for the navy then i'm going semi-pro.. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> .. this thread has come to nothing!!! the other one was much better.... and tank get real man.. those were the guys we have played with since the cutters, they were the starters and they won awards and all that... not to add that you didn't even play defense, but they did twice as good as the next guys could have... we won 7 ball games with them in... and we were close in every game but the last one... if you are gonna lash out at somone making a mistake then do it all the way across the board, i had some pretty big mistakes last year that could have been prevented, but i would like to see you try to play safety.. just like i wouldn't imagine playing takle or guard.... so don't think all that cause you or me couldn't have done any better at LB.... and to further this chat talk to me at the game friday... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> this years team is doing great and sure they have messed up but so did all of us.... just cause it was close against meigs doesn't mean that sequoyah can beat us... they are doing better than we did last year so far... and they are growing better as a team every game... if you wanna chat back and forth text each other... or IM each other... lets just try to keep it as close to the football game as possible... and to that point.. polk will probably come out a little slow against seq. (as does most polk teams)..if seq. can keep it close the whole game i will be impressed, they just don't have the "tools" polk has year after year... but in the 90's seq was a good team...maybe this year will be a good step for their program, i would like to see the teams in our region get more competitive... anyway i see polk pulling away in the second half though... good luck wildcats and GATA!!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

not so sure they stand out, they are great players, but the defense is full of great players... i just don't think that they stand out enough to say that.. it will be hard to not look into week 9.. but i would put money that coach davis has eliminated the words mcminn central and week 9 from being repeated in the fieldhouse or around him... at polk the most important game is always the next game.... i agree with you that polk wins... but the playoff thing.... every team in our region has a hard time getting out of the first round.. region 4 is very tough year after year... and before we were 3A the region we had to play was tough too.. and tyner was in our region which normally gave us and the others a shot at second and thats about it.... but if you look at it there has been very few teams make it out of the first round in our whole region in the past years..

to early for this thread.. both teams should be worried about the most important game.. which is always the next one.. if this thread stays around for then, i will post what i think... my predictions are that the polk-central threads will all be closed when the week comes, due to all the bad talk that is bound to start at any time... but ya never know.. good luck to central this week i would like for both teams to come into this game with a win streak and have all players healthy..

i agree.. you know i kinda think players need to be a little selfish.. not much just a little... for instance i wanted to win, as does everyone, and i played my best and tried to help as much as i could... but i was out there for me.. sure i liked the coaches and my teammates... but when it came down to it i was there for me.. i worked hard to get what i earned and when i was out there i was trying to get a block made, or make a big run/catch/hit, or just make the next play into a positive one.. but it was for mostly for my own glory... now i am not saying that i was not a team player cause i was.. i mean heck i told coach davis that i had a hard time catching punts and kickoffs cause i didn't have contacts at that time and i was afraid that me being back there could cost the team.. and if someone other than me did good i was happy for them, and if we won i never said it was because of me, and the same if we lost, cause you lose as a team and you win as a team.... and to the stats being mentioned in the paper and stuff, the players use that as motivation to help them do better (at least i know some who did) if they are second on the list then of course they wanna be first and that is somewhat a selfish mentallity but it doesn't hurt to be like that i think.. and like nail07 said not many standouts on this team, which shows that it is spread around the team, which is good... now congrats to polk on the win at meigs.. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> .. i wasn't there but i was kept up-to-date through the game... i think this will be close the first half as it usually is, but polk has that edge that sequoyah has lacked the last few years.. no blowout though, i say polk in a decent game.. i would also predict just a few more mistakes in this game than average on both sides.. if my memory serves me right then it has been that way the past few meetings.. good luck wildcats get it done!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

wow you really know what your talking about........................ not.... my bet is that you have another name and that you are from polk and that you played in the past.. just my thoughts but i also think i know who you are if you are truely a limp biscuit fan... the drama has been kept to a minimum here lately... lets try to keep it that way please... sorry but i don't think he broke any rules, although the post is dumb i don't think it can be deleted by tavian... but i would say del will be watching the posts he/she (limpy) makes... ok with that out of the way.. there has been many times where polk has scored this year and the refs called it back on bull s*** calls... and at meigs will be no different... i will predict a little "home cooking" this week.. and especially since meigs is not very good this year.... i would like to hear about the "starting" fullback for polk coming back this week.... i know its killing him to be out like that... tough luck man..... o and this game SHOULDN'T be very close, but you never know... it has happened before...

polk wins this game... tough luck against howard... if the mistakes are not cut out this game could end up being close if meigs plays well.. and i do mean well.. good luck to the cats this week and polk wildcat do you have my number??? i'll be bowhunting in west tn and i would like to hear about the score... or are you even going to the game?? if not don't worry about it..

i think howard might lose this game.. im not sure how tyner is this year but i know howards not as good this year as they were last year... i think overall polk was faster than howasr last week.. the QB for howard is very inaccurate and overthrows his WR's a lot... coach tarver is a good coach but so is coach turner.. good luck to both teams in this game...
