  1. Do I need to see a 2-8, 1-9, 0-10 team play to tell if they aren't very good??? Considering the following: 1. a 2-8 team twice 2. 3 other teams with a 2-8 record 3. a 1-9 team 4. an 0-10 team You think I am way off base to say that your schedule is not very tough???? When 70% of the schedule is 2-8 or worse.
  2. What area would you be talking about NET??? Or just East TN in general??? My comments are supported by 2 simple facts. 1--Unaka has got a GINORMOUS ride ahead of them on Friday. 2--BB is more athletic than them at probably 21 of the 22 spots on the field. The first one, you can't debate.......the second one you will probably find more people to agree than disagree on this board. Related to OleTiger I AM NOT!!
  3. You can take that somewhere else, nobody's buying!! 2-8 team!!! C'mon!! REALLY??? REALLY???
  4. Oh, it will happen. I realize BB may have lost some kids, but they are still way more athletic than anybody up there in that District. Don't be fooled by that 6-4 record Pujjie, they don't play that NET cupcake schedule.
  5. I don't know about everybody, but I am. Any chance they had to compete will be stomped out by the 4+ hour bus trip. Not something these kids are used to. Not saying it is impossible, but highly unlikely.
  6. IMHO...There won't be much talk about Hampton for long. They will only play one game. Boyd Buc. will handle them easily. They are much better than a 4 seed in this quad.
  7. Wrong on both counts. Pretty even game for first half. RW made great adjustments at the half and came out and physically whipped HHS in the second half. HHS offense continues to be as predictable as mullets at a nascar race!!!
  8. Speakin of play-off time: Looks like there may be a return trip to Coalfield for the blue devils in the first round. Rematch of the last barn burner they had
  9. No matter how this one plays out, I think it is much more than a rivalry. This could get either team in a positive mindset heading into the dance. Main thing in this one, is if everybody on both teams can stay healthy. Either team is prolly 1 or 2 key injuries away from having a very short play-off run. Looking forward to a brisk evening of East TN football. Best of luck to all involved. On a side note: This will be the regular season(they may host a play-off game) finale for RW's PA announcer Maurice Grief. I believe this is his 57th year on the mic!!! They will be honoring him at the game on Fri.
  10. I think it's right on!! Clay has gotten pounded by any team that had a pulse, and OZ has found their offensive groove lately. I may be wrong, but that's why they call it opinions. I actually would like to change my prediction: Clay 18 OZ 42
  11. Not sure about arm strength. He has thrown the ball well at times this year. Enough to keep opposing defenses honest. RW's bread and butter is running the football though.
  12. OZ though already in the dance still has a LOT to play for. A win for OZ could quite possibly save them a TON of driving. Could mean the difference between a trip to Rockwood(25 miles) or Unaka(150 miles) I like the bobcats to stay focused for another week after a big win over Wartburg. Clay County 18 OZ 41
  13. Not a Harriman fan. Just a fan of East TN HS football. Looking forward to Friday(Oldest rivalry in the state)
  14. Rockwood is coming off a dominating win of Bledsoe. Harriman coming off a heartbreaker v. Coalfield. IMO: This game will come down to who's defense steps up and if either side can get a score on Special teams. Both offenses are based on ball control. I expect a low scoring game with RW coming out on top; unless Harriman flops and lays down like they did last year. Offense: Advantage--Rockwood--Avg 25.6 pts a game. Much more of a threat to throw and run. Harriman--Avg 26.3 pts a game. One dimensional, not much of a threat to throw Defense: Advantage--Rockwood--Avg 14 pts a game. Simple fact that they won't have to defend the pass Harriman--Avg 21.2 pts a game. Will struggle to defend the RW passing offense. Special Teams: Advantage--Harriman-- One word(Inman) Rockwood--Has an opportunity to negate this advantage with careful Kick/Punt placement. Harriman 12 Rockwood 20
  15. I guess running up the score on Oakdale tired WB out for this week. 6 points??
  16. RW coming off an easy win last week vs Tellico Plains. Coalfield coming off an emotional win vs a rival OS team. Could be a trap game for CF. Emotional win last week, with a 5-0 Wartburg--Morgan County rival next week. Thoughts?? Predictions?? Not a lot of chatter this week on this one. Usually makes for a pretty even game.
  17. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this is OleTiger with a new e-mail address!! He is looking for somebody else to see things his way, wait he couldn't find anyone so he had to go with himself. Checklist: Lack of puncuation in post--check No capital letters to be found--check Incorrect grammar/spelling--check Completely baseless comments about the wonders of the Subright Tigers--check
  18. This one has always been a fairly close one over the years. Both teams coming off a loss....things could go south fast for the blue devils if they drop to 0-2 to start the year. Can the green wave pull this one off?? Will the blue devils bounce back after cramps, and a sub par performance from last week???
  19. This will be the first big test for these 2 teams. Both don't really know what kind of team they have yet. RW shut out a Sweetwater team that beat Tellico the week before. GB puts up 35 in both games they have played, winning by at least 2 TD's in both games. Will RW have to amp it up and try to score with GB?? Or will the tiger defense slow down the Kees?? Too early to make a predicition.
  20. Not a good sign. Cramps are one of those things that once they appear...they tend to reappear every week until the weather cools off. Hard to step up conditioning after week 1. Hopefully this was a one night thing, and they will be able to play 4 quarters next week.
  21. Good, solid effort from the tigers. Sweetwater had 4-5 fumbles, lost 2 of them. Also 3 interceptions. Tigers had a pretty balanced attack with Jolley throwing, and 3-4 RB's that had solid nights as well. Tiger defense really stepped up when they had to. Getting interceptions on some key plays when Sweetwater was knocking on the door. Sweetwater can be dangerous with a good athlete at QB(#7) and another athlete in #9 at RB. If they can eliminate some turnovers, could cause problems for a lot of defenses.
  22. Well, then it sounds like Harriman has a lot more problems than just opening up the playbook. To be a conditioned team takes zero talent.
  23. wasn't far off.....streak goes on didnt see the game....anybody have some stats?? breakdown???
  24. I hope I see it too. I am always rooting for the underdog unless it's against my team. Hopefully they can pull one out, every streak has to end sometime. On any given Friday night....Well, you know the rest
