  1. Very good point HHS2009. If the Mountaineers can hang on to the ball and sustain a few drives then they have a very good chance. Put the ball in the END ZONE boys. GO MOUNTAINEERS........ We Love our MOUNTAINEERS......
  2. Just to let all you Wb & Heritage Posters know that this guy does not speak for all HHS fans. This was a very classless post. As a Heritage faithful and former player, I am sorry for his comments and hope he never post again on behalf of the Mountaineers. After seeing some film on WB they seem to be better than the record shows. It looks like to me we will see a great & exciting ballgame. Good luck to both teams. GO MOUNTAINEERS...........
  3. APB....Awesome work......Love that road sign........ Funny story actually. You can't hardly see me, but I was actually driving the car when this APB took this picture. We were headed to Becky's for a Ross Burger. That's Nebo Mountain you can see in the background. I think thats the best pic you have posted yet. lol... I will have to agree, Earl is a great coach and an even better person. I played for him back in the late 80's at Heritage when we went to the playoffs three years in a row. He is a great motivater and knows his X's & O's. Hats off to Coach Mac. Go MOUNTAINEERS..........
  4. Looking for a full 4 qtrs of play and mistake free football from the Mountaineers this week. Good luck to both teams and hope to see a great High School football game. GO MOUNTAINEERS....
  5. Gooder points HHS2009....Eye jest hope Mairvul can keep hit close agin Hairatige..... No need for sarcasim STARS. This Heritage fan is just showing there support, as I do on here when I can. Will Maryville be coming in to the game Healthy? The Mountaineers may be a little banged up from the physical game Friday, but should be ok. I hope to see a great game Friday night and both teams come out injury free. GO MOUNTAINEERS...
  6. Yes they do and Thanks again. All I can say is the coaching staff has worked very hard and the kids have taken to it. Two more days until kick off and then we will see? GO MOUNTAINEERS.......
  7. I remember when Heritage went 10-0. Has Karns ever come close to that? When was that.? HHS did look like a football team @ the jamboree... the new coach is definitely rubbing off. I liked how they carried themselves. I'm not so sure they ever went 10-0 but I did play on some 8-2, & 9-1 teams over there. From 1985 - 1989 Heritage had some real good teams and I know in the early 80's they werent bad either.. Thank you Greyrider for noticing the difference in the team on Friday. The coaches have worked real hard with the kids to get them out of the past. They have caught on and I think it shows. Good Luck Mountaineers.....
  8. The word on Justin Mize is that he tore ACL, MCL, and his miniscus. Surgery in about six weeks. It's another tough loss for the Mountaineers because Mize was one of the better O lineman they had. It sucks for him to miss his senior year and I feel so sorry for him. I know he is a team player and will be at practice everyday pushing his teammates to get better and go "FULL SPEED". Hang in there young man... You will be missed on the field Friday nights....
  9. Yes it was a tough scrimmage. I was proud of the boys for playing hard the entire time. The defense looked pretty good except for one missed coverage for a TD. Late in the game had a few missed tackles here and there. The offense had its troubles, but like the other post said, "it's things that can be fixed". Now it's time to focus on Karns, week 0 - 8/21/09. GO MOUNTAINEERS Thoughts & Prayers go out to Coach Jed West and family for the loss of his Grandfather. God Bless.... Also keep Justin Mize in your prayers, he is # 54. He hurt his knee last night. Good Luck Justin.
  10. I do believe the Montaineers will have a big test on Tuesday night? Scrimmage is at 6 pm.
  11. 35, - Thats alot of points for a team that only scored about 60 all year last year. And only 3 for Heritage? Yea, Heritage struggled to score last year but with the new QB, different offense, & some added tallent to the backfield, & receiving core they should be able to score a few more points this year. Good luck to the Beavers and Mountaineers this season.
  12. Wow, Gone for a couple of days and all heck breaks loose. I don't know much about the Karns program other than the stuff I have read on here the last week or two. From what I have read, it sounds sort of like a soap oprah over there? I know from years past that it's hard for a young team to win, when there is so much drama in a program. Heritage has got rid of the drama and is focusing on football and winning games. Therfore, Heritage will beat Karns. As for not being able to run the spread because of the lack of speed, well, you obviously you have missed something. Heritage has pretty good speed, and are athletic at the skill positions. GO MOUNTAINEERS
  13. Are you saying they may beat Heritage just because of the past? I think Heritage may be a little better than some people are thinking. Time will tell, games will be starting soon. Good Luck to the Panthers.
  14. Thank you for clearing that up for me. Good luck this season.
  15. The teams on the field until they called for JV was ones on ones. I know how to read numbers. They may have changed a couple of kids, just has Heritage did throughout the game. It was a great scrimmage for both teams. I just wanted to praise the kids for fighting back because in the past it wasn't always like that. I'm not trying to take anything away from anybody, so I hope you are not taking it that way. Also, I hope the kid for Jeff Co. that got his leg hurt is ok? Good luck in the season.
  16. Varsity score Heritage-28 Jeff Co.-21. JV Score Heritage-0 Jeff Co.- 10. Freshman, Heritage- 35 Jeff Co. 14. Very impressed with the way the Heritage varsity kids did not give up when they got down. They fought back. Defense was very good except for giving up 3 big plays. Offense got things going and looked pretty good in spurts. Looking forward to the season. GO MOUNTAINEERS....
  17. Yes, They will play Jefferson Co. at Heritage 6 pm. Come on out.
  18. God bless him and his family. Thoughts and prays........
  19. I predict the Tyson and Tony show will be big in this game, and look out for that Tallent kid on defense, oh, and he's not a bad QB either. Maryville will have the depth and the fresh legs in the 4th but maybe Alcoa will have it in the bag by then. Same ole song and dance aint it? Maryville 21 - Alcoa 17
  20. "Alcoa is your typical 2A team." NOT.... Tpoole12, I believe you meant to say "They are NOT the typical 2A team? They started the season with 94 kids but have dropped off to about 80, give or take a few. So, yes they have more to choose from that most 5A & 6A teams. But that goes to show you success breeds success. The more you win, the more people want to be involved.
  21. I think Heritage will get a good test on Friday. Jeff Co. always has big kids and good skill people. Should be a good one?
  22. Thanks for the information. I didn't know much about the program at Karns. Best of luck to the Beavers also.
  23. Does anyone have any information on this scrimmage?
  24. Did Alcoa scrimmage Farragut this weekend?
