  1. there was only a forfeit, and I don't know what was the cause of that. could be any of the things you mentioned earlier.
  2. are you talking at 119? well, as I know of it, two wrestlers decided it'd be a good idea to be unsportsmanlike and that suspended them from the next wrestling dates. Since they were in the conci finals where they would have qualified, they were not allowed to even participate at state.
  3. the last entry for the 152 bracket is messed up on tssaa.org it has Sinshiemer wrestling Proctor...that shouldn't happen I don't think. EDIT 5:44 they fixed it, nevermind.
  4. nothing is going to happen for another 3 hours at least. cause that's when wrestling starts. they weigh in in 40 min.
  5. also in region 6 Keiffer of Ravenwood beat Austin Cox of Indy. but the biggest by far was Bratt beating Overmyer. otherwise region 6 went as suspected
  6. yep, it's all a random draw. the draw is really what makes or breaks a wrestler's chances at making a run. like the top of 125 with 3 returning medalists and 3 guys currently ranked in the same quarter. it's a logjam and only one of those guys will make the semis while the one other will only make the conci quarters.
  7. no, it's done by blind draw. atleast that's what I believe it is. because for region 6, it had 1 medalist at 130 (Ortiz) , and 2 at 189 (Croy and Wolfe both in the finals). that shouldn't be criteria for that region to have 4 sent.
  8. That happened to Region 6 a couple years ago at 140. Mason Caples and Kellen Holliman were predicted to wrestle in the state finals, but in the regional finals, Caples hurt his ankle so much he could not continue. but, because of the extent of the injury, he could not wrestle at state, so his match was treated as a forfiet. The TSSAA is heartless when it comes to this. is it sad, yes. But it's how the system works.
  9. no, if you lose on the first two rounds, the guy who beat you must make the semis in order for you to continue in the concis.
  10. even if Young won his two years ago? I know it seems odd, but otherwise it makes sense.
  11. in order to be seeded a wrestler must be a 1. returning state medalist 2. a regional champion. if two such wrestlers exist, they compare them by what place, weight, and year. In the case of Young, he won his medal two years ago while the Clarksville wrestler won his last year. I guess that trumps being champion.
  12. that doesn't sound too bad. I could see that working. the main problem is if the TSSAA is going to use those cheap paper wristbands. and they are probably cheap enough to do just that.
  13. ditto, that ice cream is very, VERY good. and I would not want to wrestle with a wristband on my wrist.
  14. okay, tourney is over. Croy won every conceivable award (OW 145-HWT, Wrestler of teh year), Best match went to 130lb final between Keiffer and A. Cox, Coach of the year was Joe Blair, OW 103-140 was Blake Thomas. Indy was 1st in team points and Ravenwood was 2nd. Brentwood was a close 3rd. champions 103 Brentwood 112 Blake Thomas (BWD) 119 Compton (FRK) dec over Leo Hardy (OVT)? 125 Chase Beazley (IND) dec over Ryan Churchill (RAV) 130 Brian Keiffer (RAV) (any given match) (6-5 dec over Austin Cox) 135 David Chege (RAV) dec over Heithcock (IND) 140 Seth Seneca (IND) 145 Brennan Cox (IND) 152 Sinshiemer (IND) 160 Taylor Dixon (IND) 171 Stephen King (IND) 189 Cameron Croy (BWD) (major over Bergholtz (RAV)) 215 Berry (IND) major over Hawthorne (RAV) HWT Brentwood heavy, can't remember the name. Good tournament and best of luck to those wrestlers who are going to Chattanooga next week!
  15. I know it's a long shot, and I know that Cox has a better chance at winning than Keiffer. But I just have a feeling that Keiffer can pull it out. oh, and never say never.
  16. brackets are up people. just incase you didn't know. my predictions based on the brackets are: 103: 1. Smith 2. Kuenhold 3. bradley 4. parrish 112: 1. Thomas 2. Chadwick 3. Overton 4. Butters 119: 1. Hardy 2. Overmyer 3. compton 4. Ward 125: 1. Beazley 2. Churchill 3. Quach 4. Story 130: 1. Keiffer 2. Cox 3. Thigpen 4. Smith 135: 1. Chege 2. Dorsa 3. Cabell 4. Heithcock 140: 1. Seneca 2. Aminmadani 3. Pappas 4. Bennet 145: 1. Cox 2. Demonbreun 3. Dunning 4. Mabry 152: 1. Sinshiemer 2. Hoop 3. Ortiz 4. White 160: 1. Dixon 2. Lenchis 3. Schoettle 4. grecco 171: 1. King 2. Gwinn 3. Looney 4. Coffey 189: 1. umm...Croy 2. Bergholtz 3. White 4. Tambellini 215: 1. Berry 2. Hawthorne 3. Robertson 4. Montgomery HWT: 1. Burge 2. Bridges 3. Stevens 4. Tate
  17. it was 2007 where the TSSAA moved it to WRF instead of RFSat. that was because 'supposedly' ESPN was going to Chattanooga for its Bracketbuster games. which it never came.
  18. the problem with the ag center is that it's booked year round. you'd be hard-pressed to see if the date would be open for the duals. My old coach looked into it for regionals or our tournament, but it's just that their booked almost every weekend.
  19. basically the same thing as the duals except pick which team will win the individual tournament with the most overall points. like a couple years ago Ravenwood had 3 medalists and was 6th in team points ahead of Notre Dame by I think two or three points. kinda like that.
  20. I know the Chattanooga area teams are upset at the new regions, and rightly so, but stop complaining. Bradley or Soddy will still win the state duals year in and year out, so stop complaining. let other teams enjoy the mystique of the state duals. Everybody knows that the Chattanooga teams are the best in the state it's not going to change anything that 2 teams instead of 3 teams go to state from that area. Besides, we don't want the duals to turn into the BCS /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  21. aha, now I know who you are. I still remember that match, except it's mainly my match with the other team that sticks out more in my memory. and I hope you mean first Indy varsity match win, not dual, because I'm pretty sure we won that dual.
  22. have you? If you're from Indy, as I suspect you are, then you're one of two other Indy wrestlers to have wrestled me. where did you finish last year at regions?
  23. I was asked that last year, I'm in college now. and no, I'm a referee now. I wasn't quite good enough to be recruited for wrestling, or even walking onto a team. especially after the kind of injury I had. But I thought about it, and I figured I wanted to enjoy eating 12 months out of the year instead of 6. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
