  7. To Chuckey Doak and their families my heart goes out to you for the loss of two of your students. It's so sad to see young lives end with so much to look forward to. Our prayers are with you from your friends at South Greene. The Black Knights played a really good game despite the tragedies and sadness this week. Congratulations Rebels on your win last night! Glad to see you finish the season and year on a high note. It's been a wild ride this year with alot of highs and lows. Your 4th quarters made the Rebel fans bite their nails in the quick. You had some real heartbreakers but you played with class and respect. Wish you seniors the best of luck with your futures, we will miss you out there next year. Thanks for the memories 09 Rebels and good luck to next years' team.
  8. Glad to hear that, hope he has a quick recovery!
  9. This is off the subject...CG72 Just wondering how Shipley is getting along with his injury? Hope he is doing well. Tell him a Rebel friend was asking about him.
  10. My guess is you are some pitiful football dad who used to ride the wood when WG was 0-10 and now are trying to live through your kid. We know SG doesn't have a good record this year, but we do have several players who have done some great things this year and we are very proud of them. When you get dismantled by Elizabethton or Sullivan North in round 1 I will be there unless the Rebs happen to get a wildcard. I would like to meet you to see what kind of idiot can't be glad for some hard working young men's accomplishments. I would usually be glad for any local teams who avdance to the play-offs and support them, but you need to learn to win with grace and not let a little success go to your head.
  11. Claiborne get ready to be 8-2 next week cause that's what it's gonna be after you get spanked by the Devils and I'm a Rebel fan all the way. Fuson is a real good player and they had some other bright spots on their team but they haven't played a team of Greeneville's calliber this year. It will be an eye-opener for the Bulldogs and their fans. Sorry CHS not trying to take away from your team but I think that's how it will turn out.
  12. Yep, you're right 8-2 this time next week for CHS. Shut down Fuson and it will be another easy win for the Devils next week. The Rebs did make a heck of a come back tonight but not stopping the run early in the game killed us again. Yet another heartbreaker for the Rebels. Some of the WORST officiating I have ever seen! Every time SG moved the ball they would find a flag on the field to take it back. On a more positive side I think Wilhoit broke the SG receiving record tonight, Haney had the hit of the night on TouchDown Friday Night and Susong set a new school passing record last week. Way to go #2, #11 & #13!!!! There may be a couple of more records in jepordy with a decent game next week by the Rebels. Good luck guys I hope you get to make a little more SG history before your season ends.
  13. Talk about a little success going to your head. Enjoy it while you can, it ends for the Buffs in round 1 sucker.
  14. Like I said before, if WG had a semi-decent non-con schedule they wouldn't even have a winning record right now. If SG padded their schedule with light weight non-con teams they would have a little better record and their stats would really be through the roof. You need to understand even though some of the teams SG played may not have a great record they are 4A and 5A teams. A losing team in 4A & 5A is alot different from some of the poor little 1A losing teams on your schedule. I also say had the field been dry last Friday SG would have made WG look stupid, kinda like GHS did. As far as the penalties go, you can't blame SG if WG don't know how to lineup or jump off-sides. SG fans have been pretty polite and graceful about the loss, even congratulated you on the win, but WG is acting like it was the superbowl. I bet that first play-off game will be a reality check for them mighty Buffalos. If CD scored on GHS you can bet they will score on you, heck I hope them Black Knights win tomorrow night.
  15. I sure hope they do. Their record really doesn't do them justice. C Gap is probably about even with SG. If WG had a tougher non-con schedule they wouldn't have the record they have, nothing impressive about them. Actually I think they were tougher last year. They don't have a rusher anywhere close to last year's Ward. Crockett and Cocke Co would have beat WG to death. They just caught SG on a bad night of play calling. Our D has struggled all season, that's no secret, only a couple of playmakers. Hope they get it together and get a win this week. We need the last two wins badly.
  16. I really hate to hear that about Shipley. That's a tough break for him and his team. The Rebels wish him a speedy recovery and the good luck to the Gap the rest of the season.
  17. The pitch was fine, it was what happened after. Stupid play call it should have been a pass. We just had too many missed opportunities all night.
  18. No they didn't, but congratulations to the Buffs anyway. Go Rebels!
  19. Yes, turnovers have hurt us all year, but our QB did his job last night and did it well. He wasn't the one coughing it up, he had 1 interception and made no fumbles. His line did a great job giving him the time he needed and he made several in the numbers passes that didn't get caught. It was a wet night, which makes it hard on a passing team. A wet and muddy field didn't help either teams running game as well. Guess the QB is nautrally the one that carries the blame when you lose. There were some bad decisions on play calling that hurt us too, like not kicking 2 field goals when we had the chance. I saw some Devil fans at the game, ask them what happened on offense, I bet they won't say it was the QB. They win and lose as a team and don't point fingers at each other, you shouldn't either, especially when you don't know what your talking about. Go Rebels!
  20. Don't see the Devils having a problem taking this one easily. Grainger has gone down hill for the past 2 years. When they were Rutlege they were a much better team. Don't know if they had coaching changes or what happened to them. They are really struggling right now.
  21. Congratulations to the Buffs on your win tonight. I'm sorry to see the can go. It's a tough break for the Rebels, especially the seniors who left it all on the field tonight. I don't think the better team won, if you were at the game tonight you know why I'm sayng that. The Rebels had 361 yards of offense compared to WG 277. A pair of should have been field goals, not punting on 4th and 15 and some other bad play calling decisions cost the team the game. Just like the CGap game, not going for the 2 point conversion stopped SG from getting that win. Come on coach, use your head! I hate to play the blame game but it's hard to watch the guys work so hard and have it taken away from them. Wise up coach, if the girls in the stands can see your play calling mistakes why cant you? It's a shame for the talented SG players to not have the success they deserve. I'm proud of the Rebels, they did the best they could with what they were told to do. Rebel Pride!
  22. The Rebels are in a must win situation in their next 3 games to get a spot in the play-offs. I think the boys will get the job done tonight and keep the can at home. I wish it wouldn't rain every year when SG plays WG! GO REBELS!
  23. The Rebels will keep the Milkcan again this year. Too many seniors that don't want to let it go. SG offense is much improved from last year I bet they will score alot more than 3 this year. Don't seem like WG has much of a passing game and depends most on the run. SG has a speedy Shuffler and others for the run and a passing game that has averaged 42 points a game with 20 being the least they have scored in a single game. SG also scored 29 on a tough Greeneville defense, if SG had a defense like they did in years past that game might have turned out different. WG is much improved and it will be interesting this week. Glad we are back on the hill this year. It will be packed Friday night, I have heard some Greeneville fans say they are coming to watch SG / WG because their game (slaughter) probably won't be much to watch. I hate to say it but I think the can will be leaving SG next year or the year after. This year I say it stays home on the hill.
