  1. Boy....what words do you find to say at a time like this? I think we all too often take life for granted, or get on this site so obsorbed in our teams, that we are never prepared for such a tragedy to occur to someone so young and full of life. We see our players on the field and assume they are immune to anything like happened to this young man. This is just terrible and I just want to say from the other end of the state, we in Henry County have you in our thoughts and prayers.
  2. Hey, part of being a true loyal fan is to always believe your team is going to win. I little pregame smack talking is part of it....Liberty was good enough to win that game...it could have went either way....good luck the rest of the season....now on to Humbolt!!!!!
  3. Another factor to contemplate is the probablitity that our starters are gonna have to fight for 4 quarters a lot more this year. Last year they were able to come out usually by half time, which may have in some ways hurt them by time the playoffs began. If we can be fortunate enough to stay healthy, the stamina should be higher by playoffs which could be a bigger asset for this team than last years.
  4. Can we accurately compare apples to apples or apples to oranges here? No one knows exactly what kind of year we have ahead, and to me that is what makes this year exciting. What we do know is that we have some great players and a top notch coaching staff that is used to winning. We have faired very well against 3 opponents already in the preseason, 2 of which we all know are top notch programs. So, I think we can all at least say its going to be another fun season being on the "winning side" of things.
  5. Alright, enough of this peeing contest....good luck to Liberty, Im hoping for a good game to start both of our seasons. We are no longer district opponents so no real gain for either team other than confidence purposes....both teams appear to be loaded with returnees from last year so it should be a battle. Where do you expect Libertys biggest strength to be? I expect our quarterback(who is a pre-season all-state selection on defense) to be pumped, trying to prove himself filling Teagues shoes. We also have a RB who is likely to have a big year now that he out of the shadows of Allen.
  6. Oh your darn right we aint buddies, since you need some instruction its called a figure of speech. I think maybe since you have posted a total of 3 responses on CoachT we will just consider you a rookie who is looking for some attention. Im not gonna waste my time talking to a rook.....so I guess we will just see who is on here after Friday nite.....may the best team win....thank God that gets determined on the field by the players, not by arm chair quarterbacks like you and me.
  7. Look Mr Leggs.....Henry County fans take great pride in their hometown football. I take it you have never been to a home game before in Paris!?! I hope you take the trip Friday and see the support for yourself....feel free to stand over to the side looking over someones shoulder when you cant find a seat. Henry County fans create their own threads to talk about Pats football and get "pumped up"...they dont go on other peoples threads like FatCat does and talk smack. Im sure Liberty is quite a tough opponent, and thankfully so as it just adds to our excitement. And, I can assure you one sure fact...the Patriots will be not be a bad team just because two players are gone.....this aint basketball buddy!!!!!
  8. Thats not totally true. In 13u USSSA, the majority of the fields they play have 275 ft dimensions; 80 ft baselines; and pitchers pitch at a 54 ft distance. USSSA does an excellent job of transitioning players each year. We played 12u last year and the dimensions were 250 ft fences; 70 ft bases; and 50 ft from rubber to plate. I go agree it is big step jumping from Little League to Babe Ruth---from 46 ft to 60 on mound and from 60 to 90 on basepaths. There are several good 13u USSSA teams in TN. Our team won the AA West TN State Championship last year and finished runner-up in the World Series in Pensacola, FL. You can look at the the 13u teams in TN by going to www.usssa.com web site---look under baseball----and then click ratings----look under 13u in TN. Some good teams in West TN(just to name a few)..... Jackson Coyotes The Juice Memphis Tigers Tennesse Terrors Full Count Falcons ....and several more....
  9. We are a 13U AAA team based out of Paris, TN. We are currently looking for one more player to solidify our team for the upcoming year. We will be playing most of our tournaments in Jackson and Memphis. Last year we were the AA West Tennessee State Champs and finished runner-up in the World Series in Pensacola, FL. We have a very solid team but would like to possibly add one more player(especially a pitcher). If you are interested in talking to me more about our team you can email me at mmcswain@wilkesmchugh.com or leave message at 931-249-0081. Thanks Mike
  10. Hello, I am the coach of a 13u AAA team out of Paris. I realize the distance may be a problem, but we are looking for one more player to solidify our team. If you are interested in talking to me about our team, you can email me at mmcswain@wilkesmchugh.com. Thanks Mike
  11. You may be correct. I guess it all boils down to his decision on what is best for his future. Im not sure if he is college baseball material or not, but imagine if he gets to go to school athletically, then hope he focuses on that sport.
  12. McCadams plays baseball and is pretty good I might add. I think the question regarding Spring practice should be given to Coach Welp, the baseball coach. Opinion: if McCadams is not the qb next year...I doubt the reason will not be because he played another sport.
  13. Congrats Marsalis.....I'll miss watching you in Patroit Red, but look forward to watching on tv. But mainly, congrats on a very fine education you will receive from a very prestigious university, not only athletically but academically. Glad you stayed SEC, the best conference in America no doubt!!!! Watch out for those skeeters down there in the Swamp!!!! lol
  14. Ok, it all over now and congrats to Hillsboro. So, lets have some fun and list the "dream team" from 4A this season. Who was the best? I'll start with Marsalis Teague at quarterback.
  15. I agree and I think that goes without saying....for instance, if he had interest in the medical field, then Vanderbilt kinda outweighs UT I think. Dont get me wrong, I am not a Vandy fan, I just promote this kids lifelong future in case football ends up not paying his bills. Marsalis is a very bright young man and will be successful on and off the football field. If he ends up wearing orange, that would be great too, but I will believe it when I see it. More like orange and blue most likely bet.
  16. Good luck to both teams from Paris, TN.....I actually dont care who wins, but feel like I almost know people from both teams after reading and posting on here for the past several months. With that in mind, may the best team win.
  17. No disrepect to the Big Orange, but I am sure Marsalis will consider the academic reputation of the school he chooses as much as the football program. There are many that have both. This guy possesses a 4.0 GPA and deserves the opportunity to get the best education possible. He has my best wishes which ever school he chooses.....I would even totally understand if he chose Vanderbilt!!!!!
  18. Congratulations Marsalis....you have been a true pleasure to watch in the Big Red uniform, and look forward to see you in whatever new color you choose. Best of luck to you on what looks like a very bright future.
  19. Realgame....after reading your post for the last 3 months or so, I have really come to enjoy what you have to say because you are as good as it comes when just telling it like is....kudos to that!!!!!
  20. Well HHC fans....unfortunately the games occurs the night of that dreaded one day a year "black Friday." So, can any of you give us any advice on parking and how soon we should probably arrive at the stadium?
  21. Teague and Allen both will be playing in the East/West All-Star game in December.
  22. Yeah, its quite entertaining to watch him reach out and push someone over with a stiff arm while three other people are being dragged behind him.
  23. Actually I believe YOU hope Henry County cant keep up.....but whether they do or not remains to be seen....just know that they are more than capable of doing more than just keeping up.....
  24. Well JW, to answer your question....yes I am kin to her.... I am married to her I believe. Meanwhile....back to what matters.....anyone happen to catch practice today? I heard coach was being the "master motivator" today that makes him the "man" he is....
  25. Those we obviously can be quite potent on the ground, and the fact that it is our best asset, we do have quite an effective passing game when needed.
