  1. Well, it was fun keeping you waiting, now lets see how long you will be running your mouth. I predict about another week.
  2. Jabbo,There is one D1 Prospect that I know of, #56 a 6'3 295 pound defensive lineman that was bench pressing 350lb his junior year. No one ever talks about it but he is constently being double teamed, which leaves the linebackers open to make the play and other teams very seldom run the ball to his side, he has been a starter since the very first game of his sophmore year, and last year played both sides of the ball the entire season. he has never missed a practice or a game, I know for a fact there are several DI schools looking at him, just to name a few, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Nebraska, BYU. Holy Cross. It would not surprize me to see #12 getting looks from DI Schools. I have watched him since he was in the 7th grade, and have always been impressed with the way he runs the offense, But I never would have thought back in the 7th grade when he was having a hard time seeing over the line to pass the ball that he would turn in to the passer that he has become. His numbers speek for theirself. I have been very impressed with the whole team this year for finally playing up to the potential that I always thought they had. I am looking forward to watching the Falcons go far in to the playoffs, and believe it or not possibly winning a state championship.
  3. I will still be waiting on your reply when it is over telling me Doublshot, you told me so.
  4. Well, I promise you Donkey when your team plays Lincoln county it aint going to be a disney movie.
  5. First of all GAVisitor, The first halfe of the game was jr varsity, I was not even counting that. I am talking about the last halfe of the game when everyone used their starters. If you were there you would know that the varsity played for a couple of hours after the jr varsity played, and for the first hr of the VARSITY game LC Defense held Ravenwoods offense to -7 yds until LC Pulled starters out. Mr. Donkey? I wished I had the education, and was as smart as you seem to think you are, if I did I believe I could come up with a smarter name than Mr. Donkey. And no you dont need to call me after the game in Murfreesboro, I know will be busy licking your wounds. But I will expect from you, and the rest of the folks that still think this is last year to reply at the end of the season with Doubleshot, you told us.
  6. It may come as a surprize to a lot of folks but LC would be my pick to win the district, and probley even state. I remember the Ravenwood game being the other way around. I was at that game, and LC defense held Ravewoods offence to -7 yards for the first hour of the game,it would have been worse but LC started pulling starters out after that. as far as this season, you will see one of the best deffensive lines in the state. you will also see on both sides of the line bigger, quicker, and stonger players that LC has had in a long time. LC has added 2 coaches, one by the name of Palmer from Hazelgreen, and one from Lewisburg by the name of Thomas. they have also picked up a running back from Brentwood. They have a head coach that will soon be ending his career, and along with his players is hungry to end with a state championship. a lot of folks dont realize that last years team was very young and only had about 3 players with varsity playing experience.as you all know they struggled with that in the beggining of the season, but at the end of the season they started commoing around, and practically everyone is comming back including the quaterback who believe it or not broke LC record for passing yards last year. There may be some surprized folks when LC wins state, but I wont be.
  7. Yea mr. donky, I know the history of the last few years, but this aint the last few years, this is 2010. I hope the Blackman players, and coaches think the same way you do when Lincoln County comes to Murfreesboro, and think that because of recent history it is going to be a cake walk. Remember 3 weeks in to the season!
  8. mr. donky, whatever moonshine we are drinking, we have clear enough heads to know that this aint lasy year this aint last year. I guess i can expect a post from you after week 3 saying Doubleshot you told me so.
  9. 16, and 17 year old young men can grow a lot in a year, and I can tell you that they have been working extremly hard in the gym this offseason. yes the quarterback is a 2 year starter, in fact nearly the whole team are 2 year starters, and 2 of them are 3 year starters. that does not mean that this is the same team as the 1st halfe of last season. Good luck in Lawrenceburg.
  10. Being a Lincoln County fan, of course I have to say State. But I would not post something like that unless I was pretty sure. I honestly did not believe this time last year that we had a chance at state, but I knew then that 2010 was going to be the Falcon's year. We have a line on both sides of the ball that is not only huge, but has speed, and power, our quarterback is excellent in making quick dicisions, and managing the offence, and a head coach that wants to see his carrer end on a high. You may not believe State??, but I guess when it is all over, we will see.
  11. This kid is probley great, I don't know of him. But I would not give you 2 cents for a Nike SPARQ rating. I don't know who they have running these combines, but I do know there is not enough of them. my kid went to one in Atlanta, and he is 6'3 300 lbs, and normally runs a 40 in 5.3 they clocked his 40 at 5.8, I would normally say that my kid could had a bad day, but they measured him at 6 foot, and 280 lbs. There were 4500 kids at that combine, and my guess is they rushed them through with inaccurate numbers. so if their off on his numbers, could'nt they just might be off on everyones numbers. As for us, I don't guess we will get a Nike SPARQ rating.
  12. I think most folks are already counting Lincoln County out of the top spot, but that might be a mistake.Lincoln County had 3 returning starters on last years team, so that left a lot of their team from last year without any playing experience. their schedule was probley the toughest 1st halfe schedule in Tennessee, where they done poorly, but they got experience real quick, and came on the second half of the season. The 2010 team has only lost 3 starters from last year, one on the O line, one full back, and a defensive end. You will see a much bigger, and stronger line on both sides of the ball, and more talent coming from this years team, than any from a long time. Will Coach Thompson Retire? I don't think so this season, because he know's what he has, but I do think he will retire after winning a State champianship this season. you may think that is far fetched, but I can not see anyone stopping the Falcons this year.
  13. No your wrong, Lincoln County has a lot of talent, the coaches not playing reserves for the past 2 years has nothing to do with it. Lincoln County is very strong on both sides of the line. on Offense the running backs need to follow their lineman through the very wide holes that are made for them, and be willing to take the hit at the end of the play instead of running to the line and deciding for themselves which way they want to go,and running east, and west to avoid the hit. On defense the ends need to make sure that the running play does not get around them, and the secondary, instead of giving up on the play ,needs to go after the ball instead of the tackle when the ball is thrown.
  14. O.K, I am going to say this one more time. Football is a game where the plays are designed for everyone on the team to be on the same page, and come together for a common goal, which is to move the ball down field. I heard in the stands last night people saying we need to block better, However if you know anything about football you can see the blocking skeems, and where the runner is supposed to go. This does not happen. I am seeing lineman open up the holes, and our running backs are trying to run it outside. On every play they appear to run to the line of scrimmage, and stop, and look to see which way they WANT to go. I have noticed this a lot this year, but it was really clear last night when there was less than 3 min in the game and we were fourth, and 4 and only one score behind, and came up short on the play, and turned the ball over. I saw the left guard pull to the outside, where the way was clear to possibly score, if nothing else insure the first down ,and the running back that is supposed to run behind him, run to the hole the left guard pulled from. This year I have seen this stuff over, and over again, in crucial moments in the game, and worse than that, is when the running back comes to the sideline the coaches say nothing to them. everyone knows to be effective in the game of football you have got to establish your running game, and we can not do this running east and west. I will say this again, I see a lot of talent on the falcon team, and who's fault it is I don't know. but it definately the coaches responsibility to acknowledge what their running backs are doing , and fix it.
  15. riverdaleman, you are right there is some really good talent on the LC team, i dont want to slam on any of the kids but, you cant run a little, then stop, look for where you need to go, and then start running. i believe the way its supposed to go, is your supposed to follow the guys who are actually blocking for you, and not be afraid to get hit if you need to. there are some really talented offensive lineman on the team. and no# 40 the fullback, is a sure thing for getting a few yards when you need him too. the play that changed the whole game, is right before half time, we moved the ball, all the way up the field from the 20 to the 5, by giving it to #40, they couldnt stop it and why? because the lineman did their job and he hit the hole everytime and wasnt scared to take a hit. but, when we got it up to the 5, for some unknown reason to me, instead of doing a sure thing, we decided to give the ball to someone else, who is know for never running north and south, but east to west. and then the fake punt, dont get me started. if we will quit trying to run all these trick plays and stick with what works, we will get somewhere. that play changed the whole game, it sucked all the wind out of our sails. honestly, i think until then, the were pretty evenly matched, i really dont think that this team being "young" is the problem, it may have something to do with it, but it is not the majority of the problem.
  16. i was refering to the comment riverdaleman made about the lincoln county players
  17. Riverdaleman what game where u watching?
  18. LC Fans can blame the coaches, or the players, or being a young team, or anything else they want to. I am going to have to put a lot of the blame on the parents of the kids. These coaches are tasked with motivating our kids to play hard, and from where I am watching, they seem to be doing the best they can. This LC Team has more talent than anyone I have seen in a long time. However, there is a serious lack of motivation from the players. I think motivation starts at home. I am not saying that parents should go Friday night lights on their kids, but instead of looking for something, or someone to blame, maybe they should take their kid to the side, and have a talk with them about practicing, and playing hard, commitment to the team, and themselves, to give it 100% On every play until the whistle blows. maybe they can explain to their son that Football is a TEAM contact sport, which requires the kids to hit hard, and be willing to get hit hard in practice, and in the games. If they are not willing to practice hard, chances are they will not play hard. So, for all the parents out there, that wants to blame the problems on everything else, maybe you should have a talk with little Billy, and have him join the Soccer team. As for me, I will keep trying my best to motivate my kid, and keep supporting the team, Players, and Coaches.
  19. I really think there is a serious motavation problem on the team, some of these kids, not all, just seem content to get out there and play patty- cake. I think if the right group of falcons shows up friday, I believe we could all see a great football game. As far as the defensive problem, it is really hard for just a few kids who DO seem to care about winning the game, to carry the whole defensive team, if everyone is not doing thier job, guess what, the plays arent going to work. and if the offense cant score a point, we cant win. there appears to be a serious lack of leadership on the team. i think as soon as someone steps up to fill that role, we will start to see things improve.
  20. Both sides of the line look real good this year
  21. The key for lincoln county will be their defense!
  22. Hey Softball guy, I noticed that you started this thread, and had plenty of negitive things to say about our coach, and team. But I have not seen you on here since the game. I would think that since your son is on the team, that just maybe you could have enough class to apoligize for the wrong, and negitve things you said, and congradulate the coaches, and team for ta job well done. and to the coaches, and team, I have always thought you guys have the talent to win state this year, and you will, Just keep coming out fired up like you were last night. Congrats Falcons
