  1. I completely agree with TKD. Any local recommendations for workout or person to begin with? We really would like to get with you over the weekend to pick your brain.... We appreciate your all your help. We are watching the overboard part....I talk to him each night about his level of stress. I'm trying to find that fine line that keeps him 'productively busy' but not 'overwhelmed.' Idle hands and all that.... 2. Yeah! Email me at work: TaylorD@jcschools.org and I'll also send it by my future son-in-law! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. I completely agree about CORE being the most important. When you look in the gym window at all those crazy people spending 22 seconds holding one YOGA pose and laugh.... I say try it. You can only hold a pose that long if your core is strong, you are completely balanced, your mind is focused, and you are in a strength perfection hold. The SECOND your mind wanders, you put more pressure or work on one leg than the other, or you release any part of your core muscle hold---- you're gone. After major back surgery and the twins, I had to find a 'kinder & gentler' movement other than aerobics, etc. Truthfully, yoga has saved my life and I've never felt better or been in better shape at any time in my life. Now, I know you boys are laughing----so come do 2 hours of OM with MOM and watch me kick your.... yoga mat! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  4. Bobby's dad & I have busted it out collecting info, making calls, interviewing trainers, etc. since Comp put my head in the game. We actually have 3 things going on with him in addition to regular team work outs: First, he met with Scott Welds at Great Body Company. He put him through all the drills for timed and measured events used by combines and recruiting. We'll use him about once a week for awhile to get Bobby on track with his times and measures, etc. He's a smart guy in the field and comes highly recommended. Second, we hired Dustin Mohr to be his overall trainer in workout, diet, strengthening, etc. Dustin is a Rebel '05 graduate and nearing graduation at ETSU in heath & fitness. He works at Lifestyle Fitness Center as a trainer- my gym here in JC. Dustin comes highly recommended from our family--- he's a good friend of Jessica's, a good guy in the community, and an excellent student. We definately wanted the good student part to be alongside his weight training because grades are everything (especially when your mom's a dang teacher /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ) Dustin will start with him next week--- and I love that Bobby's a little 'fraid because he told me that Dusin plans to work his tail off. Just what I ordered for the boy. Third, I have a friend & coach here in the JC system- a recent graduate of Ohio State- that has been reviewing Bobby's game film and breaking the plays down for him for the last few years. He's really a pro at it and very hard core and specific about what B needs to work on. He breaks the plays down and really makes it clear what B could have done better/different to contribute. He gives him an overall % score like most do, etc. He'll be meeting with Bobby weekly to review game film and work on specific senarios. We hope B may be able to get a job at one of the gyms around here- that way he can make some money and work out for free. I think God has a plan. Funny how he always does. We've got Stacy's blessings on all the above and opened up our pocketbook--- because none of the help is cheap. It's Bobby's decision to try all three guys for awhile since they bring different talents and ideas to the table. B knows if things get too much or grades fall, we'll back off. At this point, I really think he believes we'll do what we say. Ha! We're just starting somewhere and plan to hammer it out as we go. Isn't that what most parents do anyway? You all have been a great support to me on Coach T--- I appreciate your hospitality, advice, and humor. Keep it comin' until I can graduate the boy--- then it'll be two down and 3 to go! (I'll be dead by then.) And for the CORE training---- the boy will be going to Yoga/Pilates with ME several times a week. Funny story: I took him to yoga with me at the gym on Saturday and he went along laughingly.... he came outta the gym in nearly dead and told his dad 'They don't do Yoga like I thought! They're crazy and it's really hard! I'm glad we don't have to do that at football practice- we'd die!' Yep, he'll be saying OM with MOM several days a week... and just loving it, don't you bet?! Truthfully, yoga is the best core exercise around for any strength level. I'm addicted to it for mind, body, & soul. Bobby should be soon, too! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> BobbyMama
  5. Thanks Comp, for the info. We are really behind in all this but catching up quick. We're looking into the camps online and getting that set up. Feed me as much info as you can as it comes to you. We so appreciate your help. We're setting him up with a trainer this week and getting his workout schedule/diet/etc. started. He also has to get a job to buy a car for himself. Anyone need some help that requires a strong farm boy?
  6. Careful, Volman! You'll barely be able to get your big recruiting head in the gym! ...and don't steal my favorite face /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> ! I've got dibs on that. Now for the real secret: Volman recruited Bobby T. from DB to South. He didn't realize the nutty mom came with the deal. Win some/lose some, right Volman?! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Dude, JT and I so have you. You're busted--- but loved! Very loved! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> -D
  8. Hey Volman, just wondering if you are a cougar fan?
  9. I agree Comp. Our friends and family intend to rally for Seth. After the Green-evil game, Bobby & the family all decided that Seth needed some LOVE and REFOCUS.... Bobby Taylor has had to be loved & refocused a few times in his life and has made it happen for the best every time. Sometimes I think it was football and not our family that saved Bobby--- whatever it was it came with love & props...Just what we all intend to give Seth this next season. I think Bobby would welcome Seth at RB--- what a pair: channel those demons, dear children! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  10. Broken Rule! You have to say what you're thankful for before you post. Since I completely agree with your posting, I'll assume you mean you are thankful for BD! So as we all are! It's been a great ride.
  11. I'm determined to end this thread, this day, this week, and this season on a good note. Mrs. Taylor is giving the assignment: "Name 2 things your are thankful for." Rules: You may name more than 3 or less than 300. If you write a comment without being thankful first, you are a jerk. If you don't write a note telling what you are thankful for, you are lazy. If you forget to name your football player in the list of 2 things--- it's just sad. I'll start: I am thankful for my REBEL #2 Bobby that gave us so much to look forward to on Friday nights. I am thankful for Bobby's REBEL friends that have had his back and continue to believe in him. I am thankful for all the REBEL and OTHER parents who love their kids- even when it's difficult, when they are not making good choices, when they drop the ball, when they go to drug rehab, when they need second chances, when they didn't make a key play, and when the season is over--- any season of their life. I am thankful to be a mom & proud parent. Next? Cowboy up!
  12. shouldn't make fun of a homeschooled little boy those other homeschoolers will get all over you Little homeschooled boys should act like they have a lick of sense. Your grammar and spelling is horrible. If you're going to rep homeschoolers-- do it right! All my friends that homeschool their children every day are asking that you 1. get a dictionary 2. get a 3rd grade English book (you can borrow one from me) 3. get off adult boards until you are an adult or at least portray adult like behavior or written words. Once again, go get your nap mat, deary. The bus is coming soon. The short one. For you.
  13. Oh I am a huge fan of homeschooling. I have tons of friends that do it successfully and make it look like a breeze- their children are brilliant, talented, well rounded, and successful. I am a huge advocate of homeschooling if you can pull it off... I, however, in no way possible could make it work for me. I would look like I had been drug up a stovepipe if I had to teach my 5 kids at home all day-- then help them with homework all night--- then still live with them on the weekends. I'm just NOT that good. For sure, I like public schools. They employ me and teach my children so I am not forced to at my home. My remark was to the child on Coach T that had such poor grammer & spelling. I think you should represent well. Eat Turkey- NOT CROW! Be thankful. Enjoy family & friends. THEBOBBYMAMA #2
  14. I'm at Towne Acres Elementary in Johnson City Schools. It's a great place to work--- we're one of the top 20 elementary schools in the state with our scores. I'll also have 3 of my own kids at this school next year. I have plenty of input to give you about schools if you care for it--- 17 years experience & a gypsy girl--- after moving here from Tallahassee, I taught 2 years at UH and 7 at Jefferson El. in Kingsport City and I've been in JC for 3 years. I guess you could say I've been around the block? NO comments from my family or friends on this site, please. Send me a note to TaylorD@JCSchools.org and we'll chat! Although I work in JC, South is still the best High School in our area for a million reasons--- not just Rebel Ball. I hope the other 4 outta 5 of my kids will graduate a REBEL.
  15. Lord, honey, we can tell you are homeschooled.
  16. Wizard, dear, log off---isn't the kindergarten class in nap time? Go find your teacher and get your nap mat. Sorry Rebs--- this is one of my resource students that's not following directions again. Did you mom give you your medicine this morning dear? Go to the clinic and get your 'applesauce' then go take a nap with the rest of your class. I know it's your second time in kindergarten, but hang in there, you'll catch on! They don't call you 'wizard' for nothin.'
  17. We love Brad too! Glad we've got come cousins of yours comin' our way to cheer for. That Brad is so talented and just DARN CUTE as a puppy... with the personality to go with it. I'll get you some more of the pix we took of him this year. He's def GQ Magazine material! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  18. Hey Volman....NOW we get the little heatwave! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Love, D
  19. It will be old home week when Bobby plays DB next year. He had a few good runs at Greeneville- we hope to see more next year. As of now, he's lined up to work wtih two different trainers, attend a ton of short camps and go to the FSU Bobby Bowden Camp in July for his 3rd year. It's a great camp if any other Rebel parents want to send their kid with us. We have family down there so the only cost is the camp, not the dorm. Considering all that Bobby has been through this football season, he's come back like champ at home, school, and field. ALL the boys had a good ride--- I'm proud to be a Rebel mom, alumni, and fan.
  20. I even had you seats and warm blankets! Glad you made it---- I'll save you seats anytime. Looking forward to next year.
  21. Dude, I am so with you. I'm just sad and exhausted and mad and confused. All of our boys played great. I just felt like we were playing the other team AND the officials. That's not an excuse thing--I'm bigger than that. Something just felt so WRONG in the end. I did have a great time cheering for my Rebs. We stuck around until the last kid came out of the locker room. I kissed most of them and gave big hugs and love. Our kids play with heart-- what a great gift they've given us for a fun season of Friday nights. What a show, Rebs!
  22. We can always pose him as Fletcher TAYLOR, invest in a tanning bed, swear Bobby's his brother, and off to Florida State we'll merrily go! I'll save 2 seats for you REBELCONVERT but you'll have to find me and actually sit WITH ME. It'll be your punishment for being late. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> MuttandJeff- lay off Seth's dad or you'll getta 55 gallon drum of Bobby's mom. You betta ask somebody--- it ain't prettttty. Of course he's going to fire back--- he's the flippin' DAD, dude. Post whatever, but you better be able to handle to reverb or stay under the porch. Love your favorite 3rd grade teacher & brown mama of brown boy #15 and #2. Rebel Love BobbyMama
  23. Hi Ya'll! Haven't logged on all week until today so I just read the back log and now up all caught up. These are the things I've learned: 1. I should be glad my son is brown. He is also very fast- especially when he's running from me. With these two qualities, I'm certain that he will now be Florida State's #1 recruit next year. He will need me to move to Tally to keep an eye on him. I'll begin packing now! 2. Seth Watterson is fantastic. We love him. We love him when he catches a pass. We love him when he drops them. We love him because he's a great kid that wears that Rebel Jersey and gives us all something to do on Friday night. I also have extra Taylor Girls that I would like to arrange marriage with Seth. Play it tonight, #1! 3. Band players and band parents are different that football players and football parents. My husband is a past band nerd (drums) but now is a proud football parent. Should we be sitting apart? I think it would be safest after reading the posts. (I have blue hair and a big mouth, so he doesn't want to sit with me anyway.) /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" 4. It's really going to be cold tonight. Us FSU fragile alums do not fair well in cold. Could someone bring me hot chocolate and a tanning bed to watch from? 5. I really wish I knew a lot of technical stuff about football so I could sound smart like COMP, but, alas.... Barb & I are just the sweethearts of Coach T. Except Barb really knows some football stuff-- go Barb! 6. NO one will be yelling louder than me tonight. I will be wearing Dylan's #5 jersey. For some history, my little brother was an old Rebel #5, Josh Morrison, he actually holds a South record for interceptions. Now the only thing he can catch is a cold. Anyway--- if you think you can out yell me, bring it. 7. The twins played a horrible joke on Bobby this morning- they didn't tell him he had a delay or was out....they let him put his little tie and shirt on, come down, eat breakfast, do his chores...and then they told him! Paybacks since they go to JC Schools and we are never out! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" 8. I brought two boys from my 3rd grade class to the game last week. They want to be Rebels when they grow up. This is funny because they go to JC Schools and wore the Rebels Bobby T #2 Tshirts all day then went with their teacher to the South game. So, I'm doing a good job recruiting kids from Science Hill early. My Friday newsletter to parents was titled "Why did the Hilltoppers cross the road? To see SOUTH in the playoffs, baby!" Rebel Nation Pray for a heat wave! Love, the Bobby Mama #2 "The Sweetheart of Coach T"
