There's no excuse for that beat down. BUT, what if Jacoby had torn his ACL last week and didn't play tonight? Because that's what happened to Maryville. No excuse to lose like that though. The Rebel defense didn't lose them this game.

How blessed are we that we forget about the severity of losses because they happen so infrequently? Especially out of hand losses like tonight. Well fought game, Maryville showed a little bit of life, but couldn't get anything going against the dominant defense of Oakland. Cheering for the Pats in the championship!

Sorry, BHS, I've moved on from 2012 and I've been thinking about 2013, 2014, and 2015 when the Red Rebels were dancing in Cookeville. Didn't win them all, but we were there! Where's Da Haven been the past few years? Stuck in 2012 and a game that was handed to them by officials?

You can emogi all you want if that helps take the sting out of the fact that the Refs handed Whitehaven that game. What's even sadder is that you have to keep popping your head into Maryville threads talking about 2012 when Maryville has been back to every state championship since... Where has da Haven been?

The entire state knows. Even Whitehaven's players and coaches know. Down in their hearts they know that without the officials' help, they lost that game. I hate it that it probably eats them up inside. See, Maryville just says "Well, We'll be back next year and try and win a gold ball." Whitehaven doesn't have that luxury. But once every half decade they make it! Keep living in 2012 with BHS and maybe you'll be able to talk each other into believing you actually earned that championship and weren't handed it by an official!

I was hoping you'd argue like a bumbling idiot. The refs got the call wrong. It's documented. The ref that threw the flag was suspended. Maryville should have won that game 29-28. Rule 7-5 ART. 12 . . . Ineligible A players may not advance beyond the expanded neutral zone on a legal forward pass play before a legal forward pass that crosses the neutral zone is in flight. If B touches the pass in or behind the neutral zone, this restriction is terminated. An ineligible is not illegally downfield if, at the snap, he immediately contacts a B lineman and the contact does not continue beyond the expanded neutral zone.

I am too, they got absolutely screwed by the referees. Ever wonder why there are 7 refs on the field now in playoffs? They call it the "Maryville" rule because that umpire blew that call so badly.
