i played for clinton and we've contributed 5 of those wins. even though they dominate us every year i still want maryville to continue the streak for as long as possible because theyre the one team i never cared to lose too. they never try to run you into the ground and they always play with honor and class. they play five or six running backs, 2 or three quarterbacks and several strings of d every time they get up on people, this is their number 1 reason theyre successful in my eyes because the team always has players at every grade level that have had a considerable amount of varsity playing time and usually its against the other teams starters since losing teams rarely pull their starters till late in the second half. i am glad theyre leaving our region though cause its hard having a guranteed loss on your schedule every year. i just hope they can continue theyre doninance in 5a so all those people in west and middle tennessee will stop whining about them never playing the big boys in 5a and therefore not considering them the best in the state. also id like them to somehow break the national record of somewhere around 150 in a row but that wont be for another 7 undefeated seasons.

im glad we again proved we can play without our star, cant wait to see him back in action with the newly confident dragons.i wish i could have seen this game. congratulations to clinton on a big region win! keep it going boys 8-2 isnt out of the question! and as for the halls fans hes right dont bash the coaches, for years clinton had parents who openly bashed the coaches and caused division amongst the players which became a major part of our problem, dont let that happen to you.

to be completely honest with you i hope it is a good game, i like a well played close game anytime over a blow out, some people think im crazy for that but a nailbiters always way more exciting lol. i agree also that clinton will probably need about 28 to win, in my earlier prediction i said itd be 28-21 with clinton coming out on top, i only made the 10 point comment out of spite for the guy that was sayin clinton players didnt play with any heart, or atleast thats what i took it to mean. halls is a good team and i have alot of respect for them, they always have a strong running game and a great kicking game, i think they hit like a 58 yarder on us 3 years ago. either way its good to reply to somebody with a little class and football knowledge, i got used to dealing with alot of cocky idiots last week with the or fans on here lol, most of which ate a nice helpin of crow. i just hope if we win this one we'll have the class to leave your field alone and vice versa, good luck to both teams and get well weston, GO DRAGONS!!!

he wont be playin this game but if you wanna see someone run the ball with all their heart, come and see weston when he's healthy again, maybe he'll change your opinion of the clinton players a little. now that thats outta the way i think the others are plenty tough enough for halls and i think the dragons are gonna get themselves a nice region win this friday night mainly cause from what ive heard about ya'lls offense we'l only need about ten points to pull it off.

i know it cant be considered for the best in the state but after going to the clinton game last night i have to say that the new stadium is the best one in this area that ive seen, the new home side is great and all the scenery and the new concessions are awesome. plus we finally ditched those old white midget goalposts and got some nice new ones. not the best in the state by any means but def worth visiting

just as a shot in the dark im gonna pick clinton 28, halls 21. this is the biggest game of the year for the dragons so far, sure o.r is huge for pride but it doesnt matter at all for the postseason. a win at halls will put us at 2-1 in the region and give us the inside track for atleast 3rd but in all seriousness i really think we can finish second behind you know who and make a nice little playoff run. im just glad we proved we can win when westons not there i was really worried that without him we'd crumble. this is coming from a team whos head coach attacked highschool students and an apposing coach after a 2 touchdown win last year. did u happpen to hear about your innocent little town members leaving a funeral memorial with westons picture in it and an unloaded gun in our stands thurs night? and maybe if we gave our players daddy's jobs around town we could attract the kinda players you guys do and maybe then we would win more than 4 in 35 years, but we try not to recruit our players. i guess that still wasnt enough for you guys last night though cause that was the most pathetic team we've faced in a couple of years, we were in the red zone several times and didnt score and our allstar didnt even play. imagine what it would have been like with weston on the field. i truly appoligize for clinton students, former students, towns people whoever it was but lets not insult the entire city for a few idiots actions, and remember as much as u hate to admit it your little town has its fair share of idiots too.

im also shocked i didnt think powell had the firepower to put that many points up nor the defense to hold the ac running attack so well. congrats to powell!!

After Clintons statement win tonight, i just want to see how people think the dragons are gonna end up. my prediction is 7-3, with wins at powell, halls, lenoir city and taking one of the two against west and central. they proved tonight that they aren't a one man show and can win without their star. stone played great and that dragon d held some really good athletes at OR to one score.

well for a bunch of idiots i guess we can predict football a little better than you can, i will give you some credit though, the game wasnt as close as i thought it was gonna be. i will retract the statements i made earlier just like i promised, oakridge does have some class, they took this loss pretty well. as for you i think you should consider givin up posting on here or atleast think about what your saying a little more, but what do i know im just another clinton idiot. the 40 time is probably a little off but the kid and several other clinton players are true burners, and as far as us being able to match up with your recievers, you guys were by far bigger faster and stronger than us last year in that matchup yet until the very end of the game we held our own, sometimes what a player has inside is a little more important than their physical attributes, clinton players always give their all that is one fact u cannnot argue they always put it all on the line and this year we actually have the speed at those positions to compliment that. spoon is an amazing returner and i really feel that his performance friday night will be a huge factor in the outcome, if oakridge can contain him, and just ask south doyle its no easy task, then they will have alot better chance in this game. if he can bust a few big ones and give clinton some decent field position then it will be a long night for the wildcats, on the flipside oakridge also has a nice return game and we'll definately have to keep that on lock to be successful.

i agree that the oakridge field and away locker rooms are horrible i busted my butt in that locker room at least three times last year, most of us resorted to putting our cleats on at the door or walkin on our knees to the door. and as far as fields in the knoxville are bein all the same clintons is different than most in our area since we have seating on all four sides and have an entire side dedicated to our student section and band. our field is really nice too, the surrounding stadium cant compete with most around but the grass is always immaculate, its by far the nicest grass i played on in 4 years

i also think oakridge has no class, maybe last years events were all a dream to me but i seem to remember an oakridge team with a two touchdown lead with a minute left in the game slingin hail mary's and tryin to yet again run up the score, i also remember the oakridge head coach screaming "Get the f@%$ off my field" to a clinton student section who had the permission of both the oakridge AD and the officers on duty that night to go out on the field and join our team in our customary team talk and prayer after the game because he reportedly thought that they were going to tear down his goalposts. really? i dont think i ever recall a losing team doing that. i also remember him shoving a clinton coach who only told him to not be yellin stuff like that at our students. thank god richie marsh didnt stoop to stantons level or there might have been a full blown brawl. but i guess all of that adds up to a classy program, i apoligize for doubting them. im not saying that oakridge has always been like this but recent incidents haven't really led me to have any respect for their program. maybe if they handle this years loss to clinton with some class then il retract those statements, but we'l have to wait about 24 hours for that. as always get well soon weston and good luck to the rest of the boys. i dont see why you think oakridge is going to win by twenty when as far as i can see we're both on about the same level. sure we're 2-2 and you guys are 3-1 but all of your wins came over 1-3 teams, we both got manhandled by quality teams and we're both greatly improving as the season goes along, the clinton and oakridge offenses both had big nights in their last games with you guys puttin up 34 and us slappin sd with 54. and as for weston yes hes def the best offensive weapon we have and hes also a huge benefit on defense but from what ive heard the drop-off with the back-up wont be too bad, the kid had over 100 yards at southdoyle in 2 quarters after weston went out, add that to our kickoff return potential and our quarterback who can beat you with his arm or his legs and i see a really good game. you may be right oakridge may have a little too much depth for the dragons but i really cant see you guys beating us that bad. im sticking with my original prediction clinton 36- oakridge 31. i also agree with opie stevens will spend the night in the pokey after he storms the field in rage because he gave up the first loss to clinton in over a decade, he woulda spent the night in the hospital last year if coach marsh didnt have some class, i personally wouldn't have blamed him for knockin that hotheads teeth out after he shoved him.

who is this new kid? i havent had a chance to make it to any of the games yet so i havent seen him in action or really heard much about him. what year is he?

im convinced they can win without him but itl be alot closer now, and the dragons are definately goin to the playoffs this year, they'll win at powell, lenoir city, halls and take one of the two with central and west and end up 7-3 for the most wins in 10+ years. i also agree with coon that stone will need a good game. he played really well at oakridge last year and now hes got a few more starts and alot more confidence. i just hope we can have weston back soon cause those two are a killer combo. theres two things i really love about weston and stone, they're players that will do anything to win, and they're only juniors so they'll be helpin clinton win for a bunch more games. get well soon weston, the dragon fans are gonna miss ya bud and good luck to the rest of the boys.

what did he break? all i heard was that he sat the second half at sd but i just figured they were bein careful with him because they had that game pretty much sealed and they have oakridge this week.

i wouldnt count weston out of this one the kids a warrior he might have to crawl but he'l make it onto the field, the games just that important to him. i say the dragons win this one 36 to 31. we almost had em last year til they busted a couple big ones on us in the last 3 minutes and they dont have the talent they had then nor the talent at d-line. from what ive seen of oak's run d weston and company should have no problem runnin the ball which should open stone up for a few big plays too. i just hope oak's depth doesnt wear us down. i cant wait to see this game and really cant wait to storm the field after clinton gets its first win over oakridge in over a decade. i played two years with weston and he has one of the biggest football hearts ive ever seen, he's a warrior and he'l be ready for oakridge next week no matter what. good luck to him and all the other boys.

uh lets see the last few years east tennessee has won the 2, 3, and 4a titles almost every year so until that changes i dont think u can claim to be the best.

i agree, east tennessee is still the most dominant the only one we dont win almost every year is the 5a championship. for the past 3 0r 4 years the 2,3 and 4a titles have been on lockdown in east tennessee. fulton and alcoa are down a little though so maybe the 2 and 3a ones are up in the air but maryville is still as good as ever and next year they'll get their shot at the 5a crown too so look out

i think clinton will win 33 to 20. Hazelhurst is a stud and stone has a cannon, they'll find a way to win this one. they gotta be careful though cause south doyle is always a talented team and will be lookin for a little revenge after last years homecomin meltdown in the second half.
