  1. Well papa, things could get interesting on this board the rest of the week. Could be alot of trash talking done, I think the main question is: If the Panthers win, are you going to join us? If you recall, ddaddy and I said it would be great to have a fan like you on our side. Not saying LC will win, but if they do - will you come over to the dark side????
  2. So, please tell me rednecktiger, who is overlooking who? Look, you don't get to be 10 - 0 by overlooking people. I said it earlier, Waverly will not be overlooked, our quadrant is too loaded to overlook anyone. All these predictions you have been seeing for LC to win are coming from fans of other teams. The LC faithful know it can end at anytime, even when it is not probable, likely, or feasable - thanks to our neighbors from Centerville last year. What the Tigers should be worried about is preparing the best they can for LC and not hope against hope that the Panthers overlook them. Take a look at our scores all season, after we straightened ourselves out during the first two games - what score indicates to you that we overlooked anyone. I guess we overlooked you the first time, huh. You would be better served as Waverly fans to concentrate on talking about the game and the players involved because the more you talk about LC overlooking Wavo, the more the LC players read it and refuse to overlook the Tigers.
  3. That is very cowardly of you Rufus, I would figure someone who would be so willing to judge wouldn't mind if he got judged a little. But, then again, you are probably a fan of some team that hasn't accomplished anything in your lifetime and feed off of our success with jealousy. If this isn't the case and you are a fan of some team so far superior to the panthers, please let us know!!
  4. Tell me then Rufus, who is your team? Who did they play? Please let us know so we will know how we are supposed to schedule from now on. Please - enlighten us!!
  5. I read up too mtnfg, it was closer than I remembered. However, I, as an observer, never felt the game in question. My apologies, didn't mean to sound disrespectful to any Fview fans. It will be a tough game in the first round for Camden.
  6. Hickman County 7-6, Lewis County 32-8, and 3A Page 30-16
  7. Yes, we understand. We are inferior, we know our place. We won the Hickman County game by pure luck. Most 21 to 6 ball games are just plain out bad luck for the loser. Shucks, we will just stay down here in lil' ol Hohenwald and play our little rinky dink schools and be thankful that the powers that be even let our little ol' no talent school play football. We sure are dreading these playoffs and the tail kicking we will get from anyone - i mean anyone with some talent and speed. We just can't compete with that and we know it.
  8. Amen Stat - LC has to worry about Waverly - or whoever it is in the first round - and that is all. Respect comes with success. In order to have success, we must win - one game at a time.
  9. Fairview is a good football team with alot of good skill position guys. Number 17 is a great player and they're qb is a great runner too. They are a run-heavy - option heavy team. They are hard nosed on defense and cause alot of havoc. All that being said, wreaking havoc is misinformed - Fairview did not exactly "give Lewis County a battle" The score was 32 to 8 and anyone that was at that game will tell you the outcome was never really in doubt. Not trying to downplay Fairview at all - make no mistake, they are good and a really tough first round draw - I just didn't see the LC-Fairview game that wreaking havoc apparently saw. It was not a battle.
  10. We appreciate that stat_pack. I will say this about East Hickman's players - they play HARD. You can't ask much more than that out of your players. East Hickman fans should be proud of their kids for playing to the whistle. And with a lot of class too. Their coaching staff might have made it a little easier on them though by not calling time outs to try to score before half and at the end of the game. Sometimes, the fate of the game is sealed and its time to let the clock run out. But I am sure they were just trying to show their players to never give up - no matter the odds. Its time for the Panthers to get ready for this playoff run now. Alot has been said on CoachT and elsewhere about the shortcomings and near misses for the Panthers in the playoffs. Well now is the time that the Panthers can silence the critics and make a lot of noise in the playoffs. It looks like it will probably be Waverly in the first round, one game at a time Panthers.
  11. That team had Tank Treadway on it, I remember him VERY WELL. What ever happened to him?
  12. That was the most dominant high school football team I have ever seen at the high school level. Wasn't that the year you guys bumped up to 3A?
  13. Everybody give Westviewchargerfan08 a hand, he is hillarious. You can take my post and make fun of it all you want but all I said was what I felt dude. You can be sarcastic all you want - I'm pretty sure your team has a pretty big game with Milan this week you might ought to be worried about. I'm also sure that Westview's players love having a great supportive fan on Coacht like you who basically says that all their hard work is for nothing cause they will never get anywhere anyway. Great fan. All I know is that if a team wants to have any success they have to believe they can. I'm not discounting the fact that Alcoa is the most dominant team in 2A and they deserve their respect, all I am saying is that LC wants to get there and take a step towards becoming one of those dominant 2A teams. Good luck with Milan Friday night - but I guess you don't need it cause none of their hard work preparing for their games matters anyway huh?
  14. I think it is ridiculous for non-Alcoa fans to get on here and accuse them of recruiting. IF you want to say that about private schools, that's one thing - but Alcoa and Maryville play within the rules. I don't think they can be blamed for parents choosing to move their kids to that district because of the open zoning. Us as Lewis County fans, or Waverly, or Milan, or Camden or whoever's fans wouldn't turn down great athletes if they wanted to attend our schools. Look bottom line, Alcoa has dominated 2A for years, they really havn't been challenged by a 2A team since Huntingdon in the state championship a few years ago - to my knowledge - and they have done it with great discipline. It is also ridiculous to bash them for losing to Maryville - MARYVILLE!!!! That school hasn't lost to ANYONE in forever. I hope my Panthers can get over the hump in the playoffs and make it to the Boro, where they will most certainly face Alcoa. And will DEFINATELY be two to three touchdown underdogs - but all we want is a chance. It is a long way till that is possible with alot of GREAT teams to beat along the way to get there, but like I said - we just want the chance. People would be better served to just worry about their team's next game, cause I guarentee you that's what Alcoa, Milan, Camden, Boyd, and LC's fans are doing and I know thats what the players are doing. All that being said, Alcoa fans have the right to be confident, but some of the stuff I see on here is plain out cocky and I, in my humble opinion, would advise against that cause anything can happen - look at the Super Bowl last year.
  15. I agree with you ddaddy. Smaller rural schools do tend to put the ABC's on a pedastal. Hopefully, this years Panther team can understand how good THEY ARE and not worry about how good someone else MIGHT BE. Goodpasture, CPA, and others like them have earned their respect over and over in the past. Now its time for Lewis County to do the same.
  16. Its hard not to get defensive when every thread you see that even so much as mentions LC says that they would get beat by 50 if they played anybody at all. C'mon fvad, I understand if you want to say PJP would beat us - thats understandable I guess. But you really think 2-8 Coffee would play us tough? Excactly how bad are we in your eyes? One minute you call us great and hope we beat the ABC's this year and the next you say 2-8 teams can play with us and sound like GP and CPA's biggest fan. You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't have to agree with it and can call you on it - just as you can for me. And I am not denying that GP and CPA very well could and should be in the 2A top ten, so yea I proved your point while proving mine. We are both winners! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Lewis would go 4-5 huh, wow. What would Fairview's record be if they had to play the ABC's schedule? Lets look at the schedules shall we: Goodpasture (6-3) Game 1: Goodpasture 14 Ravenwood 7, 1st Game of the year, GP is starting a freshman QB, cramps all over the place and they beat a DECENT at best 5A team. It is impressive nonetheless. Ok by your terms LC would lose this game to R'wood, right? I don't agree but for arguments sake lets say they do, ok LC Panthers 0-1 Game 2: McGavock 42 GP 21, Again another 5A school, and a middle of the pack one at that. Don't believe me, look at their record and their opponents record. I guess fviewallday thinks this is another LC loss, again I am a self-admitted homer but I don't think so - if it was a loss it would still be close. Ok, for arguments sake LC Panthers 0-2 Game 3: GP 19 FRA 13. The Panthers would beat FRA by as many as they wanted IMO. LC Panthers 1-2 Game 4: Division II Pope John Paul II 20 GP 14. PJP has a 3-7 record (against stiff competition granted, but still 3-7) Again, in my homer opinion - the Panthers win. LC Panthers 2-2 Game 5 - both teams have beaten Ezell-Harding, Panthers shut them out - GP gives up 35 to them. LC Panthers 3-2 Game 6 - Lipscomb 26 GP 7. Understandable loss, don't think the Panthers would be able to beat DL - they seem to be loaded for yet another 3A state championship. LC Panthers 3-3 Game 7 - GP 42 East Robertson 16. East Robertson is way down this year. Panthers would also handle them. LC Panthers 4-3 Game 8 - GP 28 DCA 14. LC would beat DCA IMO - don't think you would find many that would disagree with that. LC Panthers 5-3 Game 9 - GP 28 Coffee County 14, Coffee will finsish the season 2-8, I seriously doubt the Panthers would have much trouble with them. LC Panthers 6-3 Game 10 - GP ? CPA ? I think it would be a coin toss between LC and CPA. So In My Opinion - LC finishes the season playing Goodpasture's schedule 7-3 - maybe 6-4. But DEFINATELY not 4-5
  18. Man, if it does happen like this, and it looks like you have done alot of research so I believe you, then what a raw deal for Camden. That's a heck of a reward for a 9-1 season, having to play a very good team in either CPA or Goodpasture in the 1st round.
  19. Don't even bother bumpngo, if we want all these guys' respect we just have to go earn it. Chances are we will see one or both of those teams in the playoffs and we will have to prove it then. I think it is absolutely crazy that at least CPA isn't on this list, but its hard to discount the teams that are on the list. Hard to say who should be out and who should be in. The writers should do a little more research that is for sure. Goodpasture may historically deserve to be on it, but if Lewis County had lost three games and squeeked by several others, I wouldn't expect them to be in the top ten. I am glad to see Camden where they belong in the top five finally, they are a very good football team.
  20. Thats good, we want everybody thinking that way. If there is one 10 - 0 team that can be overlooked its the Panthers. Look, I know your logic is, well, logical - we havn't been able to get past the privates - mainly Goodpasture - for several years. I know that most people are going to doubt us, we have been undefeated before and floundered in the playoffs - same song different verse. This team, I think, is alot different than those in the past. You should know better than most fvallday how good the Panthers are this year. They beat your team, who is VERY GOOD this year and will make a tough out for anyone in the playoffs. Not only did they beat Fairview - they dominated Fairview 32 - 8. The playoffs are almost here though, and then all our talking will mean nothing because it will be settled on the field. Not much on predicting scores - but LC should take this game against East fairly easily. They just have to make sure that the coming playoffs or the Thursday game are distractions. One step at a time Panthers!
  21. Mason Sharp from LC for lineman, he is a very strong kid that is tough to block. Not sure on his complete stats, maybe don haney or some other LC fan could help me out with tackles on the year. He should at least be a nominee for lineman if not win it. Then there is Kane Crowell - the QB and DB for Lewis County. There is no doubt that statistically Jobronski Gilbert (spelling ?) is deserving of Mr. Football honors, I mean WOW what a year. But for anyone that follows Lewis County football, you know what Kane Crowell means to this team. His numbers won't stack up to Gilbert's rushing or Overbey's passing stats - because LC's offensive attack is very versatile. It seems like every week there is a different leading rusher. Crowell's running ability is second to none as far as QB's go. He is a hard-nosed runner that can also make guys miss in the open field. And defensively - he is among the team leaders in tackles and I think second in interceptions with 5 or 6. He could play college ball as a db if he so chooses.
  22. I think Lewis County will handle business in this game. I have heard that about Waverly in the first round. I think they are alot better than the first time we played. I think the Panthers have learned not to overlook anyone, not East Hickman, not Waverly, noone.
  23. Camden will win this one easily. They are the better team for sure.
  24. From what I hear, it was 7 - 0 Hickman after the freshmen played and HC was playing B team guys on the freshman team due to lack of freshman. The second half was LC's B-team and the score ended up being 12 to 7 LC. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
