  1. CoverZero, you are COMPLETELY out of your mind to blame this mess on the fans. Recruits don't look at that as a determining factor for where they choose to go to school! All programs have their ups and downs and fans booing a bad play is just their way of expressing displeasure much in the same way that players show their frustrations on the field. As far as the situation with Douglas, there is no way of telling where he may be fitting into the new offensive coordinator's scheme, his satisfaction/dissatisfaction with the team/school, his own personal goals and aspirations, his relationship with Coach Fulmer, etc. I wouldn't take to much stock in this story right now. It is very preliminary and alot of things well be cleared up in the coming weeks and months as far as personel and their decisions.
  2. Yes, if you go back to 2001 Hendersonville was region champs. And yes they went top the championship game and got smashed by Riverdale 35-7 if memory serves me correctly. Just curious, but how many gold balls does Hendersonville have? Oh yeah thats right, ZERO! I'm not trying to turn this into a Gallatin/Hendersonville battle, but I just think that stating that the region championship belongs in Hendersonville is a little too much.
  3. Once again agreed. I can understand where you are coming from though. I played for Gallatin and graduated in 2007. There was a couple of really good games that year, especially in 2006 when the game was on tv down there. I am really looking forward to the teams in next year's region. Every week will be a big game with huge crowds. With the exception of Mt Juliet and Lebanon this will be a Sumner County region. I can't wait!!!
  4. I'm not quite sure the region championship BELONGS in Hendersonville. Talk about your team, but don't act like you have dominated this region. 2007-Hunters Lane 2006-Gallatin 2005-Gallatin 2004-McGavock 2003-Antioch 2002-Gallatin
  5. Agreed. It is always a great game. I'm not sure I understand what video your talking about. However, I was not suggesting that our defense was tired physically on that last drive. I was saying that, emotionally they had spent so much getting back into the game that there was a letdown on that last drive. Gallatin has never been a D1 talent factory. We always give it our all and play with emotion and when we don't it shows just like on that last drive. I wasn't suggesting that Hendersonville had some sort of advantage, but I could tell as soon as we scored to go ahead that we would have a hard time holding back Hendersonville. The sideline was dead and it seemed like all the playeres had lost their focus, thats all. players. That way you can't correct me /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. If we're going to correct spelling, I do believe it is speak, not speek. But that is beside the point. Yes, Hendersonville won the game fair and square. They had an excellent game plan and executed it well enough to win. Gallatin spent all their energy coming back in the second half and the defense was DEAD on your game-winning drive. I hope you don't get too big of a head because Hunters Lane is a quality football team that has one loss just like you. (Including a win against one of the current 4A powers Maplewood.) I would love for Gallatin to win the region, but atleast have a home playoff game. I think the outcome will be very different if Gallatin and Hendersonville play again in the postseason. As far as the forfeited games, there is no way to fairly do this. The old way was abandoned because of an incident last year where Bolton forfeited five or six games after week nine and vaulted Bartlett into the playoffs when everyone was going to rest their players having already qualified for the playoffs. The new rule allows for Gallatin to still be in the running for the region championship because of Hendersonville having one less region game. Either way somebody loses out, but I completely disagree that Hendersonville should forfeit all their region wins. They won those games fair and square without this ineligible player. Not to mention they reported themselves instead of trying to hide it. I'm interested to see what unfolds in the next few weeks and lets hope Region 5 can dominant in the playoffs before the realignment.
  7. Sorry Silverpie, typo on my part. But yes, you are exactly right, that was the two teams involved. Thanks for the correction.
  8. Leer and TrojanFan, I wish i could tell you exactly where that is located in the handbook, but that can be quite a challenge trying to understand in itself. However, I know this is a legitimate rule change because I am in a similar situation trying to figure out the tiebreakers within Region 5-5A. Hendersonville had to forfeit a region game because of an ineligible player which, if Gallatin and Hunters Lane beats Hendersonville, would leave all three schools with one loss in the region. However, because of the forfeit, Hendersonville would only have four region wins compared to five by Gallatin and Hunters Lane. This new rule is the only reason Gallatin is still in the running to be region champs. I've heard that the reasoning behind the change in the rule, is a school in 2A last year got bumped into the playoffs last year because of a forfeited game that gave them an extra win. As far as Lancaster Christian's reasons for backing out on the game at FACS I think that it was most likely financially related. Lancaster Christian is a school of less than 200 students. Therefore, funding for athletics is hard to come by and with the price of gas being close to $4.00 when they were supposed to play FACS I'm sure the administration felt they could not afford a trip to Memphis. It is unfortunate that this game may cause FACS the top seed, but thats why they have the playoffs. Wish you the best of luck!
  9. The TSSAA has changed the format for forfeited games. The new rule states that it is considered a non-game, in which case the Lancaster game would not count as a win for FACS, but simply leave the them with a nine game schedule. As far as the third tiebreaker goes, I would assume that the TSSAA has figured up the total wins for all three teams' opponents and determined that Davidson Academy gets the tiebreaker. Hope this atleast clears up some of the questions reguarding the forfeited game.
  10. The only factor I see with the rain is turnovers. This game has and always will come down to who can run the ball and stop the opposing team's rushing attack. With that said, I think Gallatin has the advantage. They were able to run at will against Hunters Lane in the 2nd half. Partly because the Warriors were tired, but mainly because the offensive system in place is able to be muc more diverse because of Holder, Matthews, and Cloud's running abilities. Hendersonville will not tire in the 4th quarter like many of the Metro schools but I think Gallatin will be able to control the ball and run the clock. The real question is which Gallatin defense will show up. There are plenty of athletes in place, but I just hope they can control the inside runs a little better. (Inside trap, fullback dive, etc.) If they execute their assignments and play their positions it should be a good night. I am not going to begin to predict a score, this is Gallatin vs Hendersonville. Hope for a big crowd Friday night. Go Green Wave!
  11. Sounds like some of the Friendship players need to be concentrating on the game instead of reading all these posts. Yes Friendship is undefeated just like TC, but i dont see them beating TC three years in a row. With that said I dont expect a blowout by any means but a TC controlled ballgame. Something along the lines of 31-17. It will take Friendship's best game to beat TC and I just dont see that happening with the way the Yellow Jackets have been playing. By the way, to avoid a cumminscommander reply lol, Friendship has played well too but somebody has to be better and I have to side with TC on this one.
  12. I guess Dobyns Bennett, Farragut, Hunters Lane, Millington, Oakland, and Whitehaven should all be tied for first if we're going by records alone. When was the last time a team from East Tennessee won a state championship in 5A? We have to go back to Sevier County in 1999. And someone in your region? Oak Ridge in 1991.

  14. I find it very hard to believe that Hunters Lane is more disciplined than Gallatin. I was one of those 42 seniors that graduated in 07 and I know several people that played at Hunters Lane. When your players have to wear their hair short (no dreads/fros/etc) and yes sir/ma'am then you may have an arguing point but until I dont think so. However, I dont think that is really a topic in need of debate on here. I think that Gallatin's D has steadily gotten better after the switch from a base 4-3 to the 3-3-5. As far as the game goes, I think its lies solely in the hands of the playcalling and execution in all facets of the game. We CANNOT expect to go out there and run counters all night with a 9 man line. There will have to be a passing game show up and not in the 4th quarter either. Good luck Green Wave, I'm really looking forward to this game.
  15. Im sorry, did I miss something? Does Smyrna have a D1 kicker/punter? Ah i didn't think so. Now, I'm not trying to put down the Smyrna special teams or their fans on here, but Gallatin has a great special teams coach and the entire staff is involved in special teams units. To say Gallatin will have no return yards and fair catch every ball is ludicrous. Smyrna has a good kicker, but come on, let's not give him that much credit. (Unless his name is Wilhoit /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) Sorry 'my2cents', I mean't to reply to 'shsfever' comment.
