  1. She's baaaaaaccck! I like our chances as well. That 3 game stretch was a long hard slog. We still control our path to the play-offs. Just need to "take care of business". Good to see a few new "weapons" step up Friday night -- that should pay dividends for the next 3 games.
  2. Exciting game to watch -- turnovers were big in this game on both sides. CA has some players. The QB (#16) is very very good. The receiver with a cast (#12?) has good hand... bet he is even better with two. Good secondary as well. Their kicker (#1) is terrific. Big game for MTCS players #82 and #23. #24 was effective as usual. Would have liked to for MTCS to put the game away a little sooner but the boys bowed up and played well when they had to have a stop. MTCS has lost 3 in a row to CA (never beaten them) and this was a big win for the seniors...
  3. Game Day... can't get much done at work thinking about it. Hope we come out strong... Haven't heard much from BulldogAllTheWay during the last few weeks.
  4. Ummm.... C11 is sure to be right on this one. Clarksville Academy Cougars host the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars. Yep.. Cougars will win -- I guarantee it!
  5. I think this is the week we get to see the benefit of an experienced coaching staff... I'm glad I am not having to practice this week. My gut (and it is getting bigger all the time) tells me that the ol' ball coach gets their attention and we see the team that played with intensity the first 5 weeks travel up I-24 and bring back a win.
  6. Here is the "reader's digest" version. McEwen takes opening kick-off for a score, MTCS fumbles kick-off, McEwen scores again (12-0 before offense comes out on field). Offense didn't get much going. Losing 20-0 before the half MTCS has a 40 yard gain on a fake punt called back (good call by the zebras -- it was an old fashioned take-down on our side). Second half MTCS sputters again on offense. McEwen scores and scores again. McEwen dropped two long passes that would have been TDs. MTCS fumbled twice, threw an INT, dropped a pass in the endzone, dropped a few more passes, and very late (no impact on the game) had long run for a TD called back on a holding call (didn't see that one but it didn't matter at that point). It was the proverbial old-fashioned butt whippin'.
  7. Tip of the hat to the McEwen Warriors. They were clearly the more physical team last night and played with a sense of urgency on both sides of the ball. They were impressive. After seeing MTCS play with both JB and Cascade the last two weeks I didn't think MTCS would be man-handled by anyone -- but they were last night. Certainly gives McEwen a leg up in the race to the play-offs.
  8. Weather at kickoff is supposed to be clear and just above 60?° -- should be a great night! What type of pre-game dining choices are available in McEwen?
  9. It's clearly out of line... A person who won't get riled up when it comes to defending their family name ain't worth a plugged nickel.
  10. Don't miss the sliced pork sandwich -- tastes great! I hear Community's concessions stand has pretty good food as well.
  11. This isn't a bad list. From the teams I have seen (Eagleville, NCS, JB and Cascade) these were the skill players that stood out:the QBs at Cascade and Eagleville; McWright from NCS; Nelson from Eagleville; Hord from Cascade; and JBs RB all played very well too. From MTCS Wade and Compton should certainly be included. I probably need to think a little more with respect to the other positions... Cascade's kicker is the best I have seen in the region thus far.
  12. Easy on that advice for the young man -- "yes dear" will get you in a world of hurt when the question is, "Honey, does this make me look fat?" -- still married after 17 years...
  13. "Not much of a handicapper" he says. You're holding out -- sounds like a regular Leonard Postoties to me!
  14. Cascade11: The Champions have played McEwen and MTCS. Care to handicap the game for us...
  15. Long time reader -- new poster... Previous posters are correct -- great game. Cascade won the kicking game. At times both teams looked like they had things clicking offensively. Other times each side's defense came up with big stops. Momentum switched sides several times. The Cascade quarterback is very good (not quite in the category of JB's from last year -- but very good nonetheless). Cascade has good team speed as well. Oh yeah... Cascade's band is great. Cougars are a handful of plays away from wins the last two weeks. This year's seniors were freshmen when the football program started at MTCS. It would be a great send-off for them to lead the team to the play-offs in their final year.
