That game tonight is huge for watertown...........Wouldn't you hate to lose the play in game and not get a game in the REGION that you are hosting? I'd say Bradshaw will have his troops ready for this one. If Bates can have a good game watertown wins it.

What will be interesting to see is will FCS, RBS, Clay Co, and Jackson Co be the top 2 in each district heading into Region 4A? One slip up and you have a huge 1st round game that eliminates a good team.......

Did I hear they won the coin toss before the games started Friday night and RBS had the tiebreaker over Watertown with the coin toss but didn't need it because they beat Gordonsville. I agree this will be who is hot for 2 games........I don't see Watertown/TC winner being the District tournament Champs although this year could be one of those years with the way things have happened. And Gordonsville playing at home should give them an extra push Friday night.

Boles had 9 when he hobbled off the court. We went in saying he isn't going to beat us (of course we said that earlier and Birdwell had his career night hitting 8 3's)...but this time we played TEAM ball from the tip off. Boles could have stayed in the game and the outcome would have been the same. He went out in the 3rd qtr and we were up by 20+ then.

The bald headed ref was scared to call anything on Clay Co.....He and the gray headed ref has a lot to be desired. But on the call when Boles got the T......he did walk before the foul occured. I was shocked that the bald headed red blew the whistle and called walking but when he saw Boles hollering at him he walked the other way..........Good thing we had one decent ref......he even gave Boles a 2nd chance to shut up but he didn't so he had to call it. Hope his ankle is ok cause without him they will not win!

Friday night Pickett Co was the best team on the floor. They were hungry and FCS wasn't. Don't understand why we wasn't hungry playing in our gym against a region opponent but we were flat. My hats off to PC! Hard to believe they are 4th in 7A. Saturday night was just the opposite.....FCS came in to Clay Co hungry and I believe somewhat embarrassed by the game the night before. Also we had our entire team available for this game whereas earlier when we lost by 11 at FCS we had 2 starters and another post player hurt. Clay Co was the team that was flat.....not sure if it was because of Senior night or that they had won the coin toss and seeded #1 over #2 Jackson Co??? Anyway the game was never in doubt from the tipoff. FCS jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. It got so frustrating to CC that their best player got a T for arguing a traveling call and went to the bench and never returned. We was up by 20+ at that time anyway....... I do think we have even teams and that on any given day either could win......so on to our individual district tourney's and we will match up with 7A again next week in Watertown....... GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS and whoever comes out on top I will root for in the substate games as well as the state if we make it that far........GO REGION 4A!

As I understand it, here are the seedings for D8A: 1) FCS 2) Gordonsville 3) RBS 4) Trousdale 5) Watertown Trousdale will play Watertown with the loser done for the year......Winner takes on FCS.........RBS vs Gordonsville

Looks like the weather will let our games be played. Pickett Co comes to PossumTown tonight for a twinbill and then FCS travels to Celina Saturday night for a showdown. Really hate playing these 2 at the end of the season right before districts and region games but we need this kind of match up before next week. We haven't gotten to play in over a week Good luck to all 3 teams

He must have been real HUNGRY? Now that Clay Co went into Clarkrange and beat them the ole COIN TOSS will happen Monday at their meeting. Loser of the coin toss has to play Clarkrange.......Wow

Wes Grace has my vote for PLAYER of 8A this year. The kid has a great shot and has a good attitude playing the game. Hope he gets to play at the next level. And maybe RBS will get to see Mid Tn's boys in the region.........they better play better than they did @ Clay Co?

Paper said Godwin had 26 of the 44 they scored so I think he showed up. The other team mates didn't. Clay Co definitely made a statement last night in 7A. Hope they got it out of their system before Saturday night. Hope they win Friday so maybe they won't be so mad! HaHa.

Monterey 1-7 Clay Co @ Clarkrange Friday night: If Clay Co wins they will flip with Jackson Co for 1st and 2nd place Clarkrange gets the 3 seed and Pickett Co plays Monterey for the 4 seed If Clarkrange beats Clay Co they will flip for the #2/#3 seeds with Jackson Co #1 seed. RBS continues their losing streak........lost to TC last night. Paper doesn't even list Ford as scoring? Did he even play or is he hurt? Looks like Swaffer and Cornwell had a good game.

Good gracious........what happened to the "close" matchup last night? Looks like Boles outplayed Godwin and the other players of JC didn't show up? If Clay continues this they will be headed to the Big Dance! And even the CC girls won big over undefeated JC????

Lebanon High School has hired Troy Crane as their new head coach. He has been at CU and Wilson Central for the past 8 season with Dewayne Alexander. Also helped Troy Bond as an asst in WCHS basketball. Your thoughts on the new hire?

You are correct on that.......We have Pickett Co at home Friday night then have to travel to Celina Saturday. Will be a tough 2 games for us. That is if this snow storm coming in Wednesday afternoon doesn't cancel everything.

I agree Possum because English isn't even a required subject at TC? You have the choice of English or Slang and most of them take Slang!

What has happened to RBS? They went into last week with an opportunity to make a statement in 8A and lost 3 games? And if I"m not mistaken your starting 5 are all seniors? You have no bench left after the 2 kids were kicked off the team. I know one of those guys was a senior, but will the other one be back next year?

But look at this way......it doesn't matter where we wind up in regular season its how we do in the Dist tourney to get the seeds to match up with each other. Alot of the times (I'll speak for 8A only) the regular season champ doesn't win the tourney and therefore when it comes to matching up with 7A two top teams play round 1......Could be that way again this year. Putting all the old discussions aside......I do hope that one or both of our teams that make it to the Sub State win that important game and make it to the big Dance! Good luck to all 7A teams.
