  1. Last I checked there are no point scales for what teams you beat and by how bad, YOUR RECORD is WHAT COUNTS. No disrespect to those other teams! Because last I checked "At the end of the day," they are pretty good teams! The system is set up the way it is and there is nothing anyone can do to change it this year. So at the "End of the Day," Brighton is 9-1, Oakland is 8-2, and Ensworth is 7-2. Good luck to all the teams! Thats the best way I can explain "The End of the Day"
  2. Stats this stats that, at the end of the day all that matters is DID YOU WIN...
  3. I wouldn't say Brighton has the poorest coaching I've seen...Shoot, for a staff that has gone 26-5 the last three years, I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but i'm sure a lot of staffs would love to have that record...maybe not. And as far as their defense, they are giving up about 13 points a game if my math is correct and lead shelby metro in a lot of the defensive stats, that to me sounds like some pretty good defense is being played. As ol' Bill Parcells used to say you are what your record says plain and simple, Brighton is currently 9-1, sounds like a pretty good staff over there. I am MINIHORSE and I have SPOKEN!!! May you see GLORY Augielio
  4. I wouldn't call someone who has scored 450 pts in 10 games and only given up 130 Pts and averaging 400 plus yds a game on offense...bad, that seems pretty salty to me and the fact they finished 9-1...sounds like they pretty good to me...just saying.
  5. For the Tony Franklin haters out there: Three letters, MUS
  6. Well said Ace, take everything one game at a time, no excuses and just enjoy the ride. Congrats on the win.
  7. I love reading these posts! Hopefully this will be a good game, my pick is Millington. As for the two tough games to start out the year, I think this can only be a good thing for Millington as they go throughout the rest of the season. To be as good as you want to be, you one day have to compete against the best! Millington may not have the skill they've had in the past, but they have enough to make some noise this season. As for Munford, I think they'll be better too, but I believe Millington comes out on top of this game 35-14.
  8. I believe this should be a Great game to watch, but don't overlook MUS as just a passing team, they will throw the ball and throw it well, but if they can run the ball with some success it will be a LONG night for Millington. Millington has the athletes, but its more than just that, its about getting those great athletes in space. If Millington can find a way to get some those kids in open space and let them do what God has gifted them with, then I believe this should be a Great game to watch!!! Best of Luck to both teams.
  9. I will say this to the "Wing-T" theory...Oakland lined up in a Dead I Formation (double tights) for a majority of the season and state championship game, never threw the football when it counted in that game, and took home the hardware. ?? Good post...............I agree! How about this; If you have the players; it really makes no difference what you run!! and to MiniHorse; the grape kool-aid is the best. I prefer the cherry flavor myself but thanks for the tip.
  10. There are only a few schools who are running the system in Tennessee, but you go to Alabama and everyone is running the "system" as are a lot of schools in Kentucky. The "system" basically started under Hal Mumme and has really revived with the success of Texas Tech. A lot of the route combo's go as far back as BYU in the 80's. But as far as schools winning championships, I know in Alabama, Hoover won a couple and I'm sure there are a few others. I'm not to caught up on Kentucky football, but everybody up there runs the "System." Just do the research and you can find all the information.
  11. This is very exciting to know; if the average IMPROVEMENT is 3 wins. We had 8 wins last season!! If we are just simply average; then we have 11 wins in 2009. WOW!! Your above wording implies IMPROVEMENT; Does this mean that ALL who pay the big bucks will show improvement?? You also imply that the money buys you all the resources that you will need, AND IF you will work and be upbeat and have uptempo..........then wins will follow. Are you a TF salesman? Also, you might have a new career with great power and wealth if you would be willing to relocate to Washington DC..........crap like this comes out of there all the time, but you are good. I am a TF salesman, buddy as is anyone else who has coached in the "system." I sense a little bitterness in your post but to hit on your eight wins, if my math is correct, I believe with the average of 3 wins that would put you at 11 wins WOW!!! Thats great job security for a fellow like yourself. Now if I may, if i'm responding to an adult, all I can say is for the program from which I came, the offense helped us out a lot. The philosophy is basically getting the ball to your athletes creatively in space. As for me personally, having the experience in the "system" gave me an opportunity to take a step forward in the state of Alabama. A lot of schools have had a great deal of success here in the state of Alabama using the "system." For example, Hoover High and Pelham high and if your looking at the college level, Texas Tech under Mike Leach. Just do the research yourself, go to unapproved website and see what some of these schools have done. I am MINIHORSE and I have spoken
  12. Now where exactly does that come from?? Does Franklin keep records of all teams that use his system? Does that include all teams that have paid the money and tried it AND stayed with it. Does it include those that drop it. That average 3 wins sounds like something that politicians or snake-oil salesman just pull out of the thin air. If you have some athletes, and you coach them up with enthusiasm....most things will work OK. I simply cannot believe a coach or school would pay that kind of money for a playbook! "The System Clinics" keeps up with the records of the schools that become clients. I promise you this is more than just a "playbook," you get so much information on teaching proper technique of every offensive position. The drills and techniques that you learn are pro level. Being a part of the "System" has helped me a lot in my career! I was in a situation where I had to go to Alabama for a job and I had no problem getting a job because I have experience in this offense. You learn so much about teaching proper technique for your position, but not only that, but also how to run a passing game properly! All of this information comes from some of the best coach's across the country. All I can say is that for the program I was involed in, it made a world of difference for us offensively, but yet they were already Great coach's. For me personally, it gave me an opportunity to take that next step in my career.
  13. This offense DOES WORK!!! The average improvement is 3 wins. There is a lot more to the offense than just throwing the ball down field. There is a lot of hard work that goes into running the system, everything from kids working hard to coaches working hard as well. I don't know how things are being run at Wilson Central, but the work begins with the coaches installing drills and putting the kids where they need to be to be successful. The Tony Franklin System provides the coaches with enough resources to be successful, it just takes work!!! The coaches have to do their homework. The coaches also need to be upbeat during practice and the young people WILL feed off the energy the coaches provide. This is an UPTEMPO offense and if you don't practice with that kind of tempo there is no way that you will play with that kind of tempo. The one thing that made us successful was the overall hard work that everyone put in. Good Luck. MINIHORSE
  14. I agree Maplewood had a Great defense, how did Teague perform last year in that game, It'll be great to see how Teague performs against Teams that have a lot of speed, I just don't think he is going to run wild and get huge chunks of yards against teams like Melrose or Fairly, of course their going to have to tackle that kid and get their hands on him and thats another matter. That kid is one of the best players I've seen play he stacks right up there with Greg Cooper a few years ago, same explosion, I just think Teague is a little quicker than Cooper, but both are the best I've seen play.
  15. Man you Crazy Dog, but I have an answer, man just call me cougarmike, we'll bring him on down here to Munford and help us win our second game because our kids play hard every game and he is such a good kid, he'll be a positive role model for the rest of our kids, he could help us make a push for the playoffs these last two games, wait a minute, that ship set sail a long time ago, does he have a younger brother? /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  16. Great Job, researching all those stats, but one thing I would love to see is how HC's QB would play against an athletic defense like that of Melrose or Fairly, I've seen HC in person and their very good, but I know for a fact that they haven't seen the type of overall team speed like their going to see in the playoffs, I believe that these two teams can more than shut down DA, but it will be interesting to see how the QB Teague plays against those teams loaded with speed. Does anyone know if the new RB from Melrose would play Defense?
  17. I'm hooked on phonics and I'm learning to READ /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  18. They can't follow rules because they can't read /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  19. Predictions as stated by MINIHORSE: Northside-28 JCM-21, Liberty-21 Munford-14 (Still only 1 win) Hardin County-42 Lexington-24, Henry and Brighton-Pickem. I am the Beloved MINIHORSE!!!!!!!!!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  20. I hope you're man enough to admit that you'll enjoy the playoff season from a seat in the stands, nothing really bothers Mighty Brighton about some mistake that Munford made for the Cardinals to win, we won and thats all that matters, whether it was by 60 or by 3, Brighton won. I think the way they won is better than blowning someone out, I could not imagine being a cougar coach losing the way they did, that must sting pretty bad, to lose a game like that must cause a sleepless Friday night. Good luck with your recruiting season, may you have a fine 09 class /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> MINIHORSE STRIKES BACK PART 2
  21. CougarMike, don't you have better things to do with your life than worry about a team that defeated you, don't you all have a game this week, I mean come on man, this boat sailed away a long time ago, so you and all your litte cougar friends can stay on the shore crying about how you should have won but didn't, while this ship sails away to the playoffs, goodluck with trying to win that second game. About Brighton finishing 3rd in the region, thats fine, but you know what, last I checked the top 4 out of region go to the playoffs, not the bottom of the region. Henry County may "Win Big," but we're still in the playoffs and that is a new season and anything can happen, too bad we can't end your season again in the playoffs. The ship has sailed and you're still on the shore!!! I am MINIHORSE and I have spoken!!!
