Did you lift in the weightlifting competition? Bulldog50, you need to play football and leave coacht alone. You have plenty to of work to do in order to get off the JV squad. Maybe a little less time on here would better your chances of getting a spot.

JC is the head coach for now, but I believe their will be some changes before long. I'm sure you know more than anyone in Hampton since your from simerly creek, but im just saying that I bet Hampton has a new headcoach next year.

Since the basketball players have decided to come out, Hampton just got better a positions that they needed to get better at. The defense certainly will be improved by these players, but could be some changes on offense too. Yes, a starting will be hard to come by. Won't be anyone missing practice and come back the next day with a starting job. My instincts tell me Lunsford will be new head coach.

If the Ward kid comes out to play he will be a solid addition to the team. He could be a good receiver or might even play QB. It would be good if Hughes and Jones played, but I think their best option is basketball.

ladydogs21, I understand that you are sensitive about your boyfriend. This is a football chat room and that's what we are talking about. I simply said that the QB of a football team is the leader of a team, it's always been like that. I don't think you would see Peyton Manning cussing Tony Dungy out do you? I do have my story straight and from my understanding the punishment fit the crime. I hope that Price can get his act together because this team will rely on him making plays as any football team would do with their QB. A team can be tore a part if it doesn't have leadership. The bulldogs will be very competitive next season. They have strong hard working kids, however they are very childish and lazy at times. The kids in the weight room seem to only want to lift when someone is watching or making them work. As far as Brett boxing though.......He just needs to stick to playing football and trying to keep himself out of trouble. Heard he got to visit lift recently. Not something you want to hear from the QB/captain of your team. Well The QB should be the captain, not the case at Hampton this year.

I just heard from a reliable scource that JC Campbell plans to retire at the end of this season. I know we hear this every year, but I heard that JC told his wife and Coach Lunsford that he would not be coaching this year.

The Defense in my opinion has really alot of options. I think that the defensive line will be made up of Cody Madden and Jordan Dugger at the defensive tackles, while the defensive ends could be cody buckles, billy berry, and john nichols. The linebackers could go a lot of different ways too. I think Logan Andrews will be the middle backer, he could play some DT but he played a lot better standing up last year, The strong side linebacker will probably be Taylor Edwards if he doesnt end up playing DE, The weak backer could be several options but the leading candidate likely being John Nichols although hampton often likes to play a smaller faster player at this position. The defensive backs could be a weak point for the dogs. I think The Corners will be Adam Taylor and Brett Price, although taylor did make a lot of mistakes last year. I think the Strong Safety will be Derrick Smith if they don`t put him at the weak backer. Free safety will probably be Brandon Hodges if he can get a little bit faster.

Hampton will be playing Johnson County twice this year. They didn't have any other options. I know coach Campbell has not retired to this point so I assume he will still be the main man on campus, however Lunsfor says he will not be coaching anywhere this season. Heard a rumor that he doesn't want to coach unless he is the head coach. That is why he did't go back to Avery County this is just what I heard though. Lunsford seems to be looking forward to retiring.

Hampton will win this region in 2009. The entire offensive Line will be returning we will have Cody Buckles at center, Cody madden and Lucas Teague at our guards, Logan Andrews and Billy Berry at our Tackles. This consists of four Seniors and one Junior polaying the Center position. Hampton also returns Senior Quarterback Brett Price, Although he struggled at time this past season and threw a few to many Int's he will be a solid player for the Dog's. The Tight Ends at hampton could consist of many different options depending on what they are trying to get out of the position. Hampton did lose their backs and wide recievers replacement options could consist of many people. My thoughts on the front runners for the tailback position would probably be Adam Taylor or Taylor Edwards. Edwards was a fresman transfer from unaka last season that was not allowed to play on the varsity. When I saw him play in the JV games he ran the ball with much intensity and was very hard nosed, however don't look for many 50 yard TD runs not the fastest guy on the field. Adam Taylor does have good speed and will break some long runs, however he put the ball on the ground way to often when playing in the JV games last year. He is a small kid who works his butt off. He still lacks size but could be a definate contender for the position. Wide recievers will be the position for concern unless some kids come out that didnt play last season the dogs could struggle here.

I heard through the garpevine that JC retired from Head Coach! Does anyone know if this is true or is it just talk? If it is true, is Lunsford going to take over?

Heard form brewer that lunsford was coming back to his home town, but its not the one you would expect. Lil Mike has taken a job with his former coach.

What is this about little mike going back to cloudland. All we have heard for the past 4 years is how cloudland hates him and how he was a traitor. I guess when it all boils down they only hate you when they cant have you.
