We have Kevin Peterson at Marshall County High. Training as QB and Receiver. He's very talented and had a pretty good year over all last fall in football and basketball. Lets see how he fairs against the big boys.

Yea number 24 is Kevin Peterson, Kareem Peterson's younger brother. We shall see how his transition to high school this fall will turn out.

Is the stats from the Tennessean accurate? All I am saying is that, based on stats and of course what i've seen Giles Co. should be seeing two of the best recievers in this region if not the best (based on this season's performance not on one kid's potential) I also, want to point out that if Giles Co.'s secondary is the way you say it is, then this is a serious threat especially with the deep ball with Sr. WR #10 and possession WRs So. #23 no. #7 When I menioned the best recievers in the region it is true. That link is from the tennessean.com by the way. Giles' reciever has been out all season and won't be playing tonight so he can't be in this arguement. Good athlete but he is not playing.

Man you lost your mind when you said that one. Marshall Co. receivers are the best in the region and have the ability to beat any secondary in the region speed wise. If you said that Gile's secondary is small and not that great then expect Marshall's receivers to run them out of the park all night. Lipscomb hands down has the best overall secondary in the region and still let up some big plays even at the line of scrimmage on "screen passes".

MC was suppose to have a track team this year, but that didn't happen. Regardless at least they are thinking about it.

Not to get off topic over gloating about DL... but did you see that play where Kareem Peterson #10 ran down William Officer on that 80 something yard run he had? It started off by Kareem missing the tackle and falling on the ground, he waited for 2 seconds then got up and started chasing him, William was already 30 yards down the field! wOOt! Gonna be a wet one tonight! and the HOP is going to be full still I believe. The last time MCHS beat lipscomb was in 2001. They already stopped the loosing streak at home to Page this year, and that has been since 1999. Time to see how much weather will play in the peformance of both teams. Man!!! coach thomas should have agreed to play on Thursday!!! argh..... Oh well lets hope everyone stays healthy for the playoffs because thats what matters most.

Wow, I can't believe how you guys can't respect MC's talent. Thats ok though, it makes it more interesting to see what will happen. No doubt that DL will be a tough oppenent. Both teams will be training hard for this one. It should be a good watch.

Good game, but this thread needs to be locked. What points need to be proven that already hasn't been proven by the score of that game? Also, why is the Marshall Co. vs. DL thread so weak... This game is just as big as the last if not bigger. I really hope Rogers is healthy because I want DL to be 100% when MC plays against them. The last thing I want to hear in 12 different pages of post is how the game could have been if Rogers played (if DL winds up loosing). MC has some speed too. Is the Tennessean not an accurate source because MC leads the region in practically every area. The schedule difficulty isn't that much different either. I know that stadium is going to be packed, this will probably be the largest crowd in MC this decade. I can't wait

This game will be a test for Marshall Co. I think since week one up to now Marshall's offense has been optimized. Meaning that Jake Morris has plenty of talent to spread the ball. With David Tadajewski and hopefully Broderick Tears coming back next week, Morris can spread the ball between Tadajewski, Tears, Peterson, and Braden if they rotate him at WR/RB like they did last night, also, their sophomore tightend has some hands as well. Tucker is a solid back, he can run the rock along with Braden. Man that receiving core is something serious. Defense wise, it may be the biggest challenge with some holes in their secondary and their linebackers. The secondary has to be more active in perusing the run before the backs get to the defensive backfield and corners need to really play tighter coverage and not give such big cushions or DL will drive down the field on short passes alone. This way we can have more breakups and less tackles after catches. (or hit receivers high instead of low to increase chances to drop balls). I hope that it doesn't turn into a who can out score who match; I'm really praying on Marshall to shell out the best defense that they ever had to in their lives. Sorry for the criticism but I really want Marshall as the victor and I am very happy with the coaches. Like my coach always said though, there is no limit for improvement. Lipscomb is the truth because their schedule was way harder! thats why Marshall needs to play harder than life. As far as Marshall being overrated, come'on! look at the stats. I don't know what the average number is they pick from each region but lets say 5 or even 10. Who do you think should be nominated from region 5 AAA to go to this classic? Discuss...
