  1. 1. Hancock County 2. Jellico 3. Washburn 4. J Frank White Championship score: Hancock County 61, Jellico 41
  2. Hancock won both games by 4 or 5. Don't remember the exact scores. Both were low scoring defensive battles.
  3. The Hancock, JFW game was actually the first round. Hancock beat Jellico in the Championship game. Washburn beat JFW in the consolation game. Here are final District 2A standings. 1. Hancock Co. 2. Jellico 3. Washburn 4. J Frank White If we fail to post or send information, it can usually be found by logging in to citizentribune.com - high school sports.
  4. You might want to add the Hancock Lady Indians (15-4) to the list of top 1-A teams in the East. They had Daniel Boone down 24 - 7 before foul trouble crept into the game. They have defeated two AAA teams, 5 AA teams and are undefeated against 1-A competition!
  5. Hancock co. senior Kim Seal has committed to play for Coach Dee Bell at Maryville. Good luck Kim and may God bless!
  6. In many situations one must PERSEVERE to be SUCCESSFUL!
  7. and these are the type of things that should happen in a lop sided game, not a mercy rule!
  8. NO MERCY RULE. Let the subs play for crying out loud, is this not how you prepare younger players?
  9. Nothing could be more humiliating as a player than to have a "MERCY RULE" levied FOR you. Any athlete with the right mind set will want fight his own battle without Daddy federation coming to the rescue! Most coaches take care of this situation by using the bench. If they don't its poor sportsmanship, but please don't humimiate the players even more by implementing a rule that tells them they are sub-par physically and emotionally!
  10. May God's ability to comfort be with all who knew him, is our prayer.
  11. White station beat a team of 10th and 11th graders, not a single sr. on Bradleys team!!!!!
  12. Gomab, I've read many of your post and you seem to have insite to Tn.HS basketball. However you cannot make statements like you have made in this thread without taking from Bradley's win. So if you really "don't want to take anything away from Bradley", just hush! [Edited by swish1 on 3-22-03 12:20A]
  13. UH must have defended the three well. What type of D did they play? Feel free to add other game details!
  14. Who's up for the Oneida job?
  15. For those going to the sect. game at cosby. There will be a limited number of tickets and seats reserved, so if you want to see the game, get there early!!!!!!!

    ETSU

Congrats to ETSU and Ryan Lawson, a native East TN. player who has worked hard for this opportunity. I hope you win it all!!!!
  17. Excellent post Blue, have a good mark for that one!!!
  18. Now, thats an accurate post!
  19. Hancock not a good team???? Harriman could have put the game away by halftime???? You guys were not watching the same game I was. If Hancock has 3 or 4 less turnovers and goes to their zone D earlier, Hancock wins by 10!!!
  20. There was not one single Cosby fan that watched the game from any classroom. Believe me I know! The game was televised locally and was visible on TV in our cafeteria for those who CHOSE to watch it there. Futhermore we reserved a section of bleachers to accomodate 300 cosby fans. This was the amount requested by the administration at Cosby. Hancock should recieve the same courtesy! [Edited by swish1 on 3-9-03 1:30A]
  21. Hancock Co. won by 12 over Unaka. Anyone know the Cloudland/N.Greene final?
  22. Congratulations Washburn!!!!!!!!!
