  1. Central wont be very good at all, lost all of their players. I think as a whole Knox County Basketball is down this year. The Knox News Sentinel did a pre-season preview in Saturday's issue but its not available online. They had Farragut, West, and Webb both ranked in the top 10. A team they left out is going to be Hardin Valley Academy who is going to do very well in a weak district. Also, Halls is going to be strong this year.
  2. If by "Dye is back" you mean she is back on campus at Carson Newman then yeah she is back and will really help South Greene win some games this year. Unless there is another Dye that I am not aware of. http://www.carsonnewmaneagles.com/sports/w-baskbl/2010-11/bios/dye%20rechelle%20y65s
  3. From what school are they transfering? and What grade? I don't know much about the District outside of Knoxville beside that Maryville is loaded.
  4. 1. Bearden 2. Catholic 3. West 4. Maryville 5. Farragut 6. Lenoir City 7. William Blount 8. Heritage I feel very strong about 1-3... 4-7 could play out a lot of different ways
  5. What is wrong with Farragut? When are they going to name a head coach? It seems strange to let all summer go by with the players having no idea who their head coach is. What is the administration doing or thinking?
  6. The point guard is a really good player and did a lot of good stuff for them.
  7. Bearden did not look good. Probably lowest level of talent at Bearden in 8 years. Powell looked down playing a lot of young players. Webb and Farragut both looked good.
  8. Thats a tough one...i think you would say Wright because of youth and the college experience, and you have to wonder how many years Cowan has left. However, Wright and his college past might make him a risky person for the long term. If I could choose I would go with Wright.
  9. Umm I agree with Maryville, Farragut, and West. However, Heritage is really going to struggle, they lost a lot of players and didn't have much on the bench. I totally agree with William Blount and Lenoir City....those 2 could be Dangerous The bottom 3 teams are going to be Catholic, Bearden, and Heritage. Cowan has a lot of work on his hands.
  10. In some Lenoir City posts there is mention that Kingston has hired a new coach. Is this true, and if so who is it?
  11. I have to disagree about Farragut. Blake williams is an awesome player but I don't think he can do it alone...i think Farragut is in for some tough times. West is too inconsistent to make any playoff noise. Catholic is well coached and has size which makes up for a lot of sins. what's maryville going to look like?
  12. 1.Bearden is the favorite 2.However don't sleep on Catholic they have a lot of size and could give the bulldogs trouble 3.West The rest of the District will be pretty down compared to this past year. 4. Maryville: maybe a little better this year 5. Farragut: way down 6. Lenoir City: No Hood= No Good 7. William Blount: Don't know much about them, did Ballard graduate last year? if not then move them behind West 8. Heritage: Well coached, not a lot of basketball players on that team
  13. Isn't that an oxymoron "A solid coach that wants to pu up with parents" I don't know of any coaches that "want" to put up with parents.
  14. Joe Lee has resigned and so has Jill Pruden, a combined 60+ years of coaching! Savor this moment because you will never have coaches with that much longevity again. AAU is too important, parents are too powerful, and principals are too weak. advice to LC "Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it"
  15. I can't agree more with accountability. I think that has a lot to do with it.
  16. Is it just me or does Knoxville have some of the worst officials for girls games? This year has been one of the worst in recent memory.
  17. I think Maryville isn't much of a shocker they are absolutely loaded with talent. I'm surprised by Farragut, seems like they lost a lot from last year and only had Newby returning. I'm also surprised by Heritage, i thought they would be much better. West is also doing a great job without Erica Lane
  18. This district seems very balanced with not a lot of dominate teams except for maybe Bearden and West. When do those two play? What is going on with Farragut? 0-3 in the district, when was the last time that happened? Are there injuries? Also Lenoir City seems to be struggling a little early
  19. This is a funny post for a few reasons 1. You are counting a 12 minute jamboree as a win 2. You are assuming a win versus Hardin Valley..a team that almost beat Farragut, played with Maryville, and was competitive against Heritage I understand supporting your team and coach but lets be realistic
  20. The Gibbs Eagles beat Austin East to win the championship
  21. Farragut Lady Admirals won the Tournament with a victory over Powell
  22. Seems like it Alisha Dowling from Powell makes the top 25 but Jill Herman also from Powell who is committed to Youngstown State doesn't even show up? And No Taylor Mills?
  23. I heard from a reliable source that Bearden went 2-0 at Greeneville pre-season scrimmage day and Farragut went 0-4. Has anyone else heard about any other teams from the area?
  24. I totally disagree with the Farragut and Bearden comment. If you define resources as money then yes they have parents with more financial means. However, think about all the athletes that come out of a school like Fulton, you deal with more off field issues but you have a lot more talent.
