  1. Now I take great offense at that! I've been nothing but a positive contributor to this thread and have steered it back towards the topic at hand a couple of times! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> I think our coaches are great! Go Eagles Go Eagles Go!
  2. Oh, come on, Cleveland fans...you know you're enjoying this thread. We Rhea County fans are loads of fun!
  3. Shhhhhh...the two Cleveland fans are napping right now. GO EAGLES!
  4. I love this kid! He is going to start at safety and Lovelady will be in AJ's spot, so I hear. Charlie's come up with some good plays this year. He'll feel a little pressure but he can handle it. And I'm with you on AJ - I saw the hit and HEARD it and thought that was it. I think it was the first drive of the game. Anyway, when he went down the second time, I felt sick. Our defense, like most everything on this thread, is up for debate, I guess. But I think we've got a talented defense. We've got some big corn-fed boys but they can be quick when they need to be.
  5. I honestly don't know for sure but I think he's a senior.
  6. I haven't heard. I know he took a really hard lick early in the game against Red Bank and seemed rattled. Then he got hurt later in the game and that was it. It's got to be tough on the team mentally but the other boys will step up. AJ's given us a lot of excitement this season.
  7. Yep, Brown is out and I think Lovelady is starting in his spot. Poor AJ - I bet it will be tough for him to NOT play in such a huge game.
  8. Tricks...and some twinkies, too? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. We're sure Brown's out? And if the claw gods do not smile on us tomorrow night and we do lose...at least we're still in the hunt. GO EAGLES!!!!
  10. I've got nothing else to rag you about! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  11. No, there will be no T-shirts at the game - they were all pre-ordered. If you want the number of the vendor, I'm ordering a few tonight - you can send me a private message and I'll send you the guy's telephone number. If you call today, you might be able to pick it up this evening.
  12. Co-sign... Come on, guys, didn't you see the recap in The Herald-News yesterday that showed our high school vs. Cleveland for the past 29 years? I think we beat Cleveland like 10 of those years. They're definitely a force to be reckoned with...and beating them two out of the last three years is no big deal. It's THIS year that counts. Let's stay focused, let's keep this thread nice and friendly (thanks to all two of the Cleveland fans who are posting for being light-hearted and fun about the game tomorrow) and let's get behind those E-ville boys. Pull out your green and gold sweatshirts and rainsuits and head toward Cleveland tomorrow. GO EAGLES! GO EAGLES! GO EAGLES!
  13. Let's keep this toward the top so the boys know we're behind them...they'll be out of practice in a couple of hours and on the off chance they check this board... GO EAGLES! You can do it, boys! Go GREEEEEEN!!!
  14. I guess I'm out of the loop and I don't know who is who here in real life but let me say this - if there is anyone posting on this thread that has ever played football at RCHS, kudos to you. Football is a rough sport, it's physical and mental. You've gotta have guts to be out on that field knowing you're likely to get the daylight knocked out of you on any given play. History is history - let's look toward Friday night's game! Discension in the ranks stinks! Go, Eagles!
  15. Back to the topic at hand...the game! WE ARE BEHIND YOU BOYS ALL THE WAY!!!! GOOOOOOO EAGLES!
  16. RheaEagle, I hope you and your predictions are correct. Moffett has been a joy to watch all season but that boy carried the team Friday - and I in no way mean to detract from the rest of the team with that statement. That child went back in on each play and picked himself up off that field after each play and went BACK in for more each time. He was a machine Friday and I hope that same machine shows back up this Friday. The Rumbling...I agree with you - this will be one of the best games of the year in this region or any other. As I stated earlier, I wish both teams luck and especially health/safety this Friday. Win or lose, both teams should be proud of their seasons...but I bleed green and gold. Go, Eagles!
  17. Oooh, careful, Eaglepride...don't judge all of us on coldboy's pessimistic views. I got PLENTY of faith in our Rhea County boys. You've gotta believe, baby...you've gotta believe. I'll be there and I'll be cheering the boys on with the best of them. That victory was pretty sweet Friday night while I froze my arse off...if we lose, that victory over Red Bank will soothe me. But if we win...I'll be over the moon. Let's take it to Clevevegas, boys!
  18. Thanks for the welcome. And if you're a WC fan, best of luck this week and against Smyrna the week after.
  19. Yep, Roller graduated from Rhea Central High School - was a Yellowjacket and was an awesome player. But more recently, obviously Andy Kelly is one of the best known. Not sure what "and we all know how that turned out" comment was supposed to mean. But Kelly did his county well and is still in the game - coaching now. It's obvious his heart was in the game way back in the day and it remains there now. Jamie Pankey (or Mamie Lou as we refer to him) was a dynamic player but didn't have the drive to push for more beyond his four years at RCHS. Too bad - he was a heck of a player to watch. Powerhouse to the max. Douglas boys - ditto on talent, although I believe Steve was the more talented of the two. Charles Benton - also a talented player. I believe he was one of two freshmen who dressed out with varsity if I'm not mistaken. Oggs - oh yeah, forgot about the Oggler. He was a joy to watch, too. Perhaps the Revis boy will shine at UT and we can add his name to this distinguished list! Good luck to all!
  20. Congrats to WC on its big win against Riverdale last week. Not too shab, boys!
  21. Game is being played ON FRIDAY according to the Times Free Press. Both principals spoke today and Levengood dug in his heels about not moving up the game. Good going, Jerry! Let's play in the mud - our Evensville boys look good in brown. I agree with football warrior - shaddup the bickering about who has done what wrong and/or right this year and get behind the team. It's time. Gas is cheap, load up your car with friends and neighbors and head toward Cleveland Friday night with your ponchos and your umbrellas. I'm telling you what - the Rhea County team has a magical quality to it. It only comes around about every 10 years or so but it's there. I experienced it in the early 80s first-hand. When the team gets on a roll - no matter WHO wears the jersey or WHO calls the plays - and our community rallies around the team, it simply can't be stopped. If you have one ounce of RCHS blood in you - each of you that has debated this topic in the past few days - you'll pull out your green and gold garb and get your hind-ends to Cleveland Friday and cheer on a group of boys that have the muscle and the heart and the drive and the FAITH to take the region's top spot this year. These boys need to KNOW they can win that game - they need to KNOW the whole flipping county is behind them - they need to KNOW they got the power and the talent to take this game. I wish both teams luck and health and a safe contest...but I sure hope the boys and green and gold (and brown!) come away the victors. I LOVE ME SOME EAGLES!
  22. Josh Davis, 5-foot-11 187 lbs, senior kicker at Rhea County High School. He has had nibbles from University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee State University and most recently Louisiana State University and Alabama. He can kick into the wind with a fierce foot.
