  1. Please report back after the game with your opinion... I'm kinda partial to the 'boys in black'.
  2. They will do a lot better than last year.
  3. Gordonsville wins this one. Smith Co. won't be able to stop their running game. How many backup quarterbacks has Smith Co. got? They're probably gonna need them. No disrespect to Smith Co. but they are in trouble.
  4. I'm just glad it's football season again.
  5. Salley did fill in for Poteete last year and did a good job. Abram Edwards' longest reception of the year was thrown by Salley. You will probably see him starting this year. This year, the talent is more evenly spread across the team. And yes, you will see a much improved defence.
  6. Whites Creek 12 Maplewood 3. Whites Creek travels to Greeneville after the win.
  7. I have to agree. We are very proud of our team, our coaches, or seniors, and all who have worked so hard and made our football program a success. The future looks bright. Tiger Pride!
  8. Good luck, LA. If you play with the determination you had when you played us at DeKalb Co., you will win this one and I'm betting you will. Hope to see you in round 3. Come on, guys. You got this one!
  9. hey i got an idea rent us some of your fans and we will front you a few points ...lol you guys better stop worrying about our fans and worry about how you are going to stop Maplewoods football team ...you are not ready for the size and speed of this panther team ..and we do not have any 220 lb backs ....to easy to catch we rather fly right past you. and bulldog69er ...that was so lame ..but hey ..its all you got ...so *clap* *clap* ..now go take one of those fancy tongue baths you guys are known for doing so well and watch out for those smelly cracks ...now get mutt!! Golddust281 is not from DeKalb Co. This is the first DeKalb Co. post he/she has posted on. I would think DeKalb Co. fans are more respectful than that and don't engage in all the trash talk. We just want to build a strong football program like other schools (Maplewood included) have. Last year and last week are the only two times in the history of DeKalb Co. to win a playoff game ever. Our team and coaches have worked hard and a win in round 2 will be a first. Beating a team like Maplewood will be a real accomplishment. Now let's play ball.
  10. Let me guess... You're a Milan fan.
  11. I hope you are right, D1. After every game, the opposing team always comments about his skills. He's a real pleasure to watch. He's a great kid too...
  12. Wow... York fumbles first play giving Livingston the win 12-6. York plays Smith in 2 weeks while Livingston goes on to play Dekalb. Interesting finish.
  13. 32-10 Cannon Co. over Smith Co. game. After the beating they got from Cannon Co. defense, Smith Co. will need that week off next week to recover and play York. I don't expect York to roll over either.
  14. 32-10 Cannon Co. 2:33 left in game. You gotta give credit to Cannon Co. They came to win.
  15. I HOPE those guys are drunk ....cuz if they're not ... LOL... wondering that myself. 26-10 Cannon Co 8:02 left in game.
  16. 20-10 Cannon Co. in the 3rd quarter.
  17. Does Cannon Co. broadcast the game? I'm listening via 104.1FM Smith Co. and the commentators are hard to follow. From what little bit I can make out, it's an interesting game.
  18. Even though it's not related to football, D1, I still appreciate you mentioning it and supplying the link. Payne is quite a golfer and we're hoping he brings the title home again. Go Tigers! As for Tiger football, let's sweep the rest of the season and get serious in the playoffs! Too bad Smith Co. is 3A and not 4A so we could have another crack at them. We really missed Abram Edwards on the field when we played them.
  19. Well, I might as well be the first to ask... Who's gonna win and by how much? Dekalb or Smith?
  20. D1talent... as you've been told many times before, you do a great job with your posts. They are very informative. I hope you continue. Those that get annoyed by it, move on to another thread. After all, as stated in the subject line, this thread is about "Dekalb Co. football" and the excitement on our recent successes and anticipated future successes are hard to contain. This county has come alive and we're building our football program from junior pro up. Many of us are putting our time and money into it. I've seen the positives in kids lives, their discipline, their attitudes with school and their relationships with their parents and teachers all grow. So let's play ball, talk about it and have fun. It's all good. I love it when they play 'Back in Black' by AC/DC before a game. That's one tradition I hope don't change.
  21. So true, D1, starting with Cannon Co. BTW, the video clip of Cannon Co. vs Spring Hill is about 39 minutes long, not 15. It was interesting. Thanks for the post. Here's a few sites with the recap of Cannon Cos. game last week against West Creek: http://www.dnj.com/article/20090829/SPO ... 1006/rss02 http://www.theleafchronicle.com/article ... 1006/RSS04 I'm bettin' you got the stats on that game, Mr. stats man.
  22. As I said before, great job, D1talent, for producing the stats and keeping everyone informed. I also want to congratulate our coaches and players for getting the job done against Oneida. They fought hard but so did we. I know Oneida will be ready for a win over Wartburg next week and I bet they get it. It's great to see some of our previously injured players return to the field. They really helped earn the win. I expect DC to get stronger the next few weeks and anticipate a great game against Smith Co. Who else is feelin' it?
  23. #7 Travon Johnson left the game early with a knee injury and did not go back in. We also didn't have #1 Abram Edwards and #20 Matt Collier on the field. To my understanding, they were out with the flu. Also, #22 Tyler Weatherby is still sidelined but should return soon, and #34 Kevin Kijanski is out for the season with a broken leg. Missing 4 well equipped seniors and 1 veteran junior made for a taxing evening for the rest of the team, but gave more field time to players who don't ordinarily start. It did not look like our typical DCHS crew out there, but as I have stated before, a scrimmage is just a scrimmage. It's a time to learn and train. Hopefully, we left Monterey smarter and better prepared for the upcoming season.
  24. What time does the jamboree start and what time do you think DCHS will play? Here's directions to LA: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... =UTF8&z=10 And here's directions to Monterey HS for tomorrow night's scrimmage: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... =UTF8&z=10
