In Houston County our kids still had athletics 4th block this year. during basketball season, the 9 week period before christmas and the 9 week period after were for basketball. They earned half a credit each 9 week period. the other two 9 week periods the basketball players had PE II. they got a whole credit for those 18 weeks also. The school has always done this, and i'm sure other schools can as well. the athletes will still be eligible to receive 32 credits for the 4 years they are in school.

i think the schedule is already set, and yes Houston County is still playing Montgomery Central. No taking them off this year. =]

Coach Young has promised his girls that he is not taking the boys' coaching position. So I think you might as well forget that idea.

actually, perry and torres are sophmores right now. in the same class as deason and tolley. clark and spurgeon are also sophmores. they will lose holland this year, and next year hooper will graduate. HC is going to be strong for the next couple years, if not longer.

actually, we still have to play mcewen monday night too, so there's another one. if we can beat nashville christian and them, there's a chance we could still be in 3rd.

Black is still out with a fracture in her leg. tolley is dressing tomorrow, and could very well play. yes we have to play mcewen monday night at 6.

houston county goes to nashville christian to play friday..opinions on how that one will turn out?

we might make up the game. coach said there was a 50/50 chance it would be made up. guess we'll have to wait and see.

last time we played mcewen we lost, i don't remember by how much. it was our first game back after christmas break, and we hadn't practiced much. we were dead. we are prepared this time and hoping to win. i don't know when the game will be made up.

well, if you weren't at the east robertson/houston county game, you didn't miss a thing. we played horribly. we lost by almost 20. it was rather embarassing if you ask me. we're really going to have to step it up to have a chance in the tournaments..

Houston County goes to Heritage to play tomorrow night..opinions on that game?

if i remember correctly, the standings are: McEwen in 1st, Heritage, Houston County, and East Robertson tied for 2nd, Jo Byrns, Nashville Christian, and then Clarksville Academy. Only two i'm not sure are in the right order are Nashville and Jo Byrns.

I'm gonna have to go with East Robertson and White House to win their games. As for the Houston County-McEwen game, it's hard to say. It could go either way. I haven't seen McEwen play this year, but I'm sure with most of their team back, including the Hobson sisters. they should be very tough. Houston County has been doing very well this year, and are going to want to win this game. They will be determined to pull this one out, and their determination could very well lead them to a win. That game will be a close one, and it'll be a good game for everyone in the crowd. I'm going to pull for the underdog, and say Houston County will win this one. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

ohh ok. how'd that game turn out? thanks, that was one of our better games. yes the district tourney is at Houston Co this year..long way for ya'll to travel.

we only lost one senior last year, and we have one that's decided not to play because of knee problems. we have everyone else back, including the other 3-4 that started last year.

apparently it's not impossible if it happened. i was in the game..the clock didn't shut off when the ref blew the whistle when the ball went out of bounds to begin with. so, if you want to get technical about it, there should have been about 1.5 more seconds on the clock to begin with. it's in the past, you can't change it. i think ya'll are a good team, but your sportsmanship needs some work. that's about the worst i've ever seen a team and coaching staff act when something didn't go the way they wanted it to. there were many times in that game we could have gotten nasty, but we didn't. we've got self-control, and apparently stewart county does not.

haha riight. i was IN the game. the only reason the fourth quarter went the way it did is because we were fouling trying to get the ball back. what happened to ya'll winning hands down? if i remember correctly, we were only down 2 at the half. maybe houston county is a little better than what ya'll orignally thought.
