  1. John Lane is not a "BC" guy. He is from "SD". Wrestled for Coach Henry.
  2. The agreement between Logsdon and Henry was made several days ago, in the event that they won their first matches.
  3. Here it comes! The Bradley haters can finally pretend to know more than the coaching staff there. So now, it's scheduling. No one could really say much for the past 4 seasons, because the Bears weren't doing any losing. Same coaching staff, same scheduling, same result. State Championships. In fact, haven't they won 21 State Titles since 1994? I hear that's more than any team in any sport in Tn. History. Hurry and call Logston and help him with his methods and scheduling, because dang, they lost a match.
  4. Cleveland's year to host it. Would you like to ask Phillips to give up that gate? Easily over 2000 paying customers. Besides, this is the type of match that needs to be showcased.
  5. He came from Bradley Central HS! Born and bred. Just been behind some good guys.
  6. Well, please don't stop posting. You've made so many new pals in such a short time. All of the gang would be lost without you on here.
  7. Hey, Mike. You just got teched! I wasn't trying to argue any point that you're trying to make. Don't really care about Alan Jones, Cleveland, Bradley or if you're really a Purple Pounder supporter. I just recognized (accurately) that you have a desire to have a strong opinion about everything on this board, and will say just about anything to back up that opinion, whether it is logical or based on any truth whatsoever. My point is correct. Call it a loophole if you want. It's called being informed and accurate. It's called the Truth. You should try to base your arguments on it. You'll probably still come off as abrasive, but at least it will be honest.
  8. Quick knowledge check, Mike. Since you are so "up" on your knowledge of local coaching staffs and their quality, quickly (like, now!) name the members of the Cleveland Coaching staff, then the Bradley Coaching staff. With your deep knowledge of all that you speak of, this should be up by about 11:15, right? And while you're at it, add a few of the credentials/backgrounds of these gentlemen would certainly back up your opinion. Here's my bet: You CAN'T do it, because you have no idea. Now hurry and Google it, but remember, DETAILS will prove that you're not just a bag of hot air. I'll be waiting. Tick, tick, tick....
  9. Ok, let's start with basic Wrestling 101. Two State Tournaments per year, STATE duals and STATE traditional tournaments. Now, the Blue Raiders were State Runner-up in the Duals in '08, '09 and '10. During those same years, they were State Runner-up in The Traditional Tournament, ('08, '09, '10. That would pretty much make the Cleveland Wrestling team State Runners-up in the LAST 6 STATE TOURNAMENTS ! While their staff are good guys and good Coaches, I still haven't heard what particulars put them so far ahead of the staffs of Baylor, McCallie, Bradley, Soddy, Father Ryan, etc. Do tell.
  10. I guess the biggest question that I have is, What constitutes success? Cleveland HS has taken home the State Runner-up trophy in the last SIX State Tournaments! That's not too shabby! I agree that Taj Mahal buildings don't assure success, however the Blue Raiders have been highly successful, both before it was built and after. Al Miller did it from a much smaller block building that sat on the same piece of land for many years. Many State Titles. However, that doesn't diminish what's going on over there now. The next question is, What criteria are you using to determine that Cleveland's Staff is far superior to any other school in TN? Give us a comparative analysis as to how you reached this conclusion.
  11. Well, maybe not teched, but definitely blast doubled across the mat and into the scorers table where you layed with a confused look on your face as your coach makes this face. . . .
  12. Some are listening to what they want to hear or think they hear. I never said a word about the drive or the fact that the tournament wasn't in Chatt. UTC had it and they lost it. No problem. The only argument was with the start time for the finals. I do find it interesting that someone brought up the Chattanooga kids not getting to sleep in their own beds, not eat mom's cooking, deal with strange surroundings and travel, etc. These are the"advantages" that have been talked about for years regarding Chatt area wrestlers. Well if that's the case, and it's such a huge advantage, why did Chattanooga area schools sweep both gold trophies and both silver trophies this year? All while having to travel and sleep in the dreaded hotel beds and do without all their perceived "advantages" of past years.
  13. tnko, close your eyes and think about this. It isn't about YOU or your convenience. What I was referring to is the wrestlers perspective. I used the casual fans as an example that many others also recognized this. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to acknowledge this obvious point because of the thin skin regarding any critique of anything regarding the Cow Palace. If I wanted to be truly critical, I would have mentioned the lack of courtesy regarding the starting time for the finals on Saturday. To be fair, you'd have to admit that by having the Finals at 4:00 EST (in Chatt. for the last couple decades), it got the travellers home at a safer hour. The 6:00 start this year was equivelant to 7:00 Eastern, which got the Saturday night travellers home at an extremely late hour, (well , actually early Sunday morning). The Finals ended at 11:00! I know you guys detest Chattanooga and it's wrestlers, but those guys prob. got in bed around 2:30 or 3:00 AM. The consolation rounds ended very early in the afternoon, around 1:00. Why in the world not start the Finals at 3:00 or 4:00? Certainly never stopped the Roundhouse from rockin' on Saturday afternoon.
  14. Kudos to the folks that ran the tournament. The people and hospitality were great. Really efficient and made everyone feel welcome. There is no problem with those things. The problem was with the finals. If you'll close your eyes for a moment and remember the atmosphere at UTC for the parade of Champions and the Finals, it was night and day compared to the Cow Palace. The tight packed, electric atmosphere was non-existent. It felt more like a mid-season dual meet than the biggest event in a young wrestlers life. Even casual fans who come to only this each year were remarking about the difference. Nothing that anyone could have really done, it's just that the venue isn't condusive to the the type of atmosphere we've become accustomed to.
  15. In sudden death (final period), ND didn't choose down, Bradley chose TOP!
  16. Thought the tournament went well and ran smoothly. The venue worked well and offered plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. I'm sure that a lot of hard work went into this successful event and is appreciated. Just have two questions: 1- Why were there no concessions available during the Finals of State Championship? I know of several newbies to our sport who were there to support a wrestler who were amazed that this happened. Surely this was just poor planning and not intentional. Imagine going to the finals of the State Basketball Championships and only being offered fancy cashews from a cart? (which were pretty good, by the way) 2- With about 8 million square feet of floor space during the finals, why in the world were the two opposing teams forced to sit side by side, crammed in like sardines? There were "acres" of open, unused floor space. It would take about 45 seconds to move half of the chairs to another side of the mat, yet the opposing teams were literally bumping into each other. Just seemed like a no-brainer, yet there it was.
  17. Look genius, I don't live on this forum and am fairly new, so I don't have a clue about what I "should know" about anything. I simply clicked on your name and it pulled up your past posts. I live a full life away from this little soap opera here, and don't understand these cute little games that you play. I just offered a simple fix for a guy who "WANTS ANSWERS"!! regarding who some program does or does not schedule.(that's a Tom Cruise reference, just in case you missed it)
  18. Why are you asking me? I gave you the perfect solution to the issue that is tearing you up inside. What do you think, Good idea?? I pulled up a few of your past posts, and saw where you enjoy calling people "garbage" and liked to make reference to the "Blackman trailer rats". Pretty strong, but anonymously so. I don't know you myself and have absolutely no desire to, but Hey, are you going to call the Bradley coaches garbage, trailer rats or just cowards? That rolling head smiley you like to use could become quite ironic!
  19. In Hoc, how original! Easy fix. Pretty sure that Coach Logsdon and Coach Smith do the scheduling for BCHS. This weekend, find them, maintain your confrontational courage and explain to them why they should defend their schedule to you. You seem so confident, I'm sure you'll intimidate them. Or do your best confrontations come anonymously from behind your keyboard?
  20. Hurry, someone post something about Bradley on a totally non-Bradley related thread! The haters can always use a little more kerosene on the fire and Jeff is just dying for some more stuff to post on Science Hill's bulletin board in the wrestling room! Jeff, the "poor pitiful us" approach has long been dominated by RMC, and you can never, ever overtake that guy!
  21. Oh, c'mon. Anyone who ever knew the guy knows this is Dan Duggar!
  22. Oh!, now I get it. I guess the random placement of your post threw off my reasoning skills. Thought it also might be that "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing might be kicking in. Basically anyone who has a chance to beat the hated Bears, ya know? (or maybe you're just a Blue Raider fan who doesn't know how to go about starting his own thread, I don't know.)
  23. Do you mean the Raiders you wrestled for or the Raiders where your son wrestled? I'm not clear on who you're being loyal to.
