I talked to a Mt Juliet dad & he said the M.J. starter was their #3 pitcher. He was injured by a line drive in the 4th or 5th inning an went to the hospital. M.J. brought in another pitcher at that time & was ahead 6-5 going into the bottom of the 7th. At this time M.J. came with their #1 closer (Memphis State signee). Franklin scored 2 runs on a great bunt & over throw after getting a couple of lined drive hits, great base running & coaching. Franklin wins 7-6 with 1 out. The reason MJ didn't use their #1 pitcher, (Harper) Vandy signee) is that he had piched tuesday & was going to pitch monday against Beech. Great game between to good teams, both teams played well, no one played poorly. Franklin WILL win district 11 tournement beating Brentwood or Ravenwood in champenship game.

Indy's coach moore should have been coach of the year in dist 11, got most out of talent than any coach in mid-state. Great job coach Moore.

Indy didn't shoot as well as they did in summer camps and their big center (Kelly) only played a couple of mins. as he just got out of football a few days ago. I was told by someone (big man)who knew & had followed the new coach that indy made a very good hire. If they can get center (Kelly) playing well they have a chance to win district & after that anything is possible.

Independence will be good & win or be 2nd in district. New coach is great & will have them ready to play every game. They beat hunters lane in a scrimmage yesterday by about 10, at hunters lane. New coach can coach!

Indy will be better & I think they finished 2nd last year. They are loaded with good guards, both point & shooting. They will be well coached. This district is very close & I dont see any one or two teams that will dominate.

Jake Little, Jr. Franklin. UT, Vandy, Ky,Southern Ill, & a few others have seen him play or have him on their radar thur coaches & reports on his fielding, hitting & knowledge of the game. He is only a junior & should get several D1 offers or be drafted out of high school.

Overton's moore behiner plate, he showed temper control when the franklin students got on him verbally. Saw him throw out a couple runners that had base stolen on pitcher, but he made up with his shotgun arm. Overton's 1st & 2nd baseman, little at franklin, ss, Ravenwood 3rd baseman, kemp,shelton & young in outfield. I didn't see a really above average pitcher in district 11AAA this year.

Franklin had to play 4 games in 2 days instead of 3 days & would have had their #1 pitcher ready on friday. Overton & Indy, neither wanted to play Franklin with #1 on the mound. Can't blame them.

I didn't say this game wasn't exciting, what I said was it was poorly played for a championship game. Also there was 6 errors by the 2 shortstops (4 by overton ss, 2 by indy ss) the balls that they fielded in the hole were scored as hits (but a couple of them could have also been errors. Hope vandy is looking at Indy ss as a pitcher and not as a ss as I am a vandy fan.

hey 'OHSBobcat1' championship game was a joke & embarrassment to district 11aaa. 10 errors (probably more if they hadn't gave hits instead of errors) Coaching for indy terrible, changing pitchers in 6th which wasn't necessary and not bring in ace (should have cost him the game) but got a unearned run in top of 8th and then ace pitched bottom of 8th and got the win. McGavock & Hunters Lane (weakess district in tn.) have got to be really happy with chance of winning both of these games.

Your right, franklin "WON" the first game By hitting the ball and making plays. Overton was given the second game by standing in batter box and depending on the ump to call every thing balls unless the pitch was stright down the middle of the plate. When the short stop for franklin came in to pitch the score was 7-7. He struck out the first batter he faced (third out) but the ump called a third strike a ball. Your right, franklin's coach did come out on every close call, because ever close call went overton's way. You can tell the difference between franklin and overton fans. When franklin plays at home they know the umps are not going to give them any calls. Overton expects and gets all calls at home. Did overton lose a game at home this year.

At the time franklin shortstop came in to pitch in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and the score 7 to 7 with a 3-2 count on the batter. I was standing behine the plate and the pitch got 6 inches of the outside part of the plate,, belt high, the ump missed or didn't make the correct call. that was strike three and the 3rd out. Franklin comes to bat with the meat of its batting order. The oveton's coach had the umps in his back pocket and controled the tempo and close calls at key times of the game. The young man pitching learned that life isn't always fair and you can't always depend on adults to do what is right. Hope the ump honestly missed the call.

Those stats sound really convincing and correct. Those stats are against everyones ace pitchers which all teams save for franklin. Indy only see other teams third, fourth or lower pitchers and still dont have the stats to match 5 or 6 franklin players. Don't forget this is a rebuilding year for franklin (7 fresh & sopm) in starting 11 or 12 players. 4 to 3 ain't as good as 9 to 2, that makes franklin 13 to 6 with indy, which makes franklin twice as good as indy. Numbers don't lie.

Good to hear from you b(basket)ballwcs. Franklin baseball team just beat another weak district team (Independence) tonight 9-2 and it should have been more. Franklin out hit, out fielded, out pitched, out base stole and out classed Independence. The best 2 teams in district 11 aaa are Overton & Franklin. They have the best talent & coaching in middle tn. They are also 2 of the youngest (freshman & soph.) teams in the state. Franklin is now 5-0 in district and in first place. Get use to it.

I have seen kemp & lee play many times the last few years. I do think both lee & kemp are good high school players. I don't have to post this fhs player name on this board to get him known, it seems that everyone knows him already. Daddy's & mama's & brothers need to quite trying to tell everyone how good a player is & let his play on the field do the talking. This is my last post on this subject & will wait for season to start.

There is a soph. at franklin that might be the best all around player (hitting for average & long ball, fielding & pitching) in state, maybe in south. I don't need to tell you his name, you will know him when you see him play.

FHS PLAYED THEIR WORST GAME OF THE SEASON THE LAST TIME THEY PLAYED IHS. IHS PLAYED THEIR BEST GAME OF THE YEAR AND LOST BY 2. THIS WILL BE TURNED AROUND AND FHS WILL WIN BY 32. DON'T COUNT OVERTON OUT COME TOURNAMENT TIME.

What's not right is franklin has some players playing out of position and are not getting their best 5 players on the court at the same time. They basically have the same players (except for Kegarise) that they had last year but it's important to have them in the right position to beat the good teams.
