  1. Any word on this job? Very surprised if any current or former HC takes it.
  2. Still worried about the offense, I know Dyson knows football but sometimes I don't think he is a OC. He needs to bring in an experience coach to run the O. Wharton will be a game changer for sure. Anyone know who Indy is scrimmaging before the season starts?
  3. Talked to some Giles Co. Players here in Orlando and they said no one has been kicked off the team. Looks like the old men at Giles are bored again.
  4. This is a false statement, under the Z plan we have seen more teams with losing records make the playoffs than the 5 class system. This is a fallacy that too many people on this board use.
  5. Don't think this is the appropriate venue to discuss, just know the "resignation" had nothing to do with the inept Page administration when it comes to athletics.
  6. This "resignation" was called for. They may not have supported the past football coach, but the baseball coach is a totally different story. He has no one to blames but himself.
  7. True I just get tired of hearing people say they don't like sub .500 teams get in under this new format. It is simply not as prevalent as it was with the old top 4 system. Under any system you will have some sub .500 teams get in so of that is your major complaint than those people will never be satisfied.
  8. There have been less sub .500 teams make the playoffs under the new format than under the previous format.
  9. The talent in this district is down. I won't argue that point anymore. Just look how many players will go play at the next level after this season. Previous years we had plenty of talent from on the mound to at the plate. Robertson wouldn't of been a top 10 district pitcher from 2005-2010. You may think there is talent but all the college scouts agree that the well is dry in Wilco.
  10. Just heard the winner of the sweepstakes is Giles Co.
  11. Just heard from a pretty reliable source that Vic Wharton is transferring to Giles Co. next year. If so, Giles would have to be the front runner for the state title with all that offense.
  12. Another delusional parent. Do you realize this district was the worst it has ever been in terms of talent the last ten years? Same for the region. Put Franklin in a tough district they don't win half their games. Indy was gutted from graduation of a great senior class and their best sophomores headed to Summit. I went to the state tournament and the players and coaches I talked to their couldn't believe how weak this team was. Those win streaks you talk about came against weak competition. Looks like Brown is going to be your next head coach as he resigned from Page yesterday. Good move for him as he is moving into a district with far less talent than the one he was previously in. District 11-AAA baseball is down.
  13. I will be the first to admit I was wrong about Glover. He turned out to be a great coach. He took a sub-par team all the way to state. There was nothing special about the team except they found a way to win. Once again your post show how delusional you are. Grassland High Athletics have been going down hill and will continue to go downhill. In one year alone they fired 3 winning coaches, so please tell me how Franklin Athletics is fine.
  14. Exactly why people shouldn't take this job. Delusional parents who think their little Johnny is so talented. The Franklin this year is nowhere near the talent of the previous 3 teams and for you to compare the two show how little you know about baseball. This team had zero offense and Glover found a way to produce runs. You are probably one of the parents who have helped run off a slew of coaches and is helping ruin the athletic program at Franklin.
  15. Looks like this coach is getting out of dodge with all the talent that is graduating from there.
  16. Heard Brown from Page is very interested as well as a couple of assistants from Rutherford Co. I guess there are some desperate coaches out there. Also in the rumor mill is that a former coach may make his way back from Texas to take the job.
  17. National Powerhouse in two years? What type of Kool-aid does Rector have people drinking over on Mallory Lane? Maryville and Alcoa have never been considered that and all of a sudden Centennial is going to reach that status. Like I said win something then talk but national powerhouse?? I had to clean off my computer screen because of the drink I spilt from reading this post.
  18. Will the job be posted or do thru already have someone in mind?
  19. Who will be the new head coach at Franklin? I heard today from current players that he was asked to resign at the end of the season. Question now is what coach wants to go work at a school where they have fired a winning football, wrestling, and now baseball coach in one year.
  20. They should probably make a run at Franklin's Head Coach. He is being let go at the end of the season by the administration. He took a sub-par team all the way to the state tournament.
  21. Here is how I see it playing out. I am going to try and be unbiased. 1. Brentwood- Yes they have a new coach, but those players know how to win. It may not always be pretty but come November I feel like they will be on top. 2. Hillsboro- Everyone has seen the amount of athletes that are on the field at Hillsboro and now they have a coach who knows how to use them. If the Burros can't find a QB they will be further down on this list. I have them ranked this high because of potential. 3. Centennial- I am not sold yet, they scrimmaged two teams rebuilding and the Cougars are going to have to prove they know how to win before I move them up. Rector is a good coach, but those top two teams have better Johnnies and Joes. 4. Independence- I think we will be fine on the defensive side of the ball, but will we be able to score. If the Vic Wharton rumors are true then we may be in luck. Indy could finish anywhere from 2-5. 5. Ravenwood- In the coach's 2nd year they should improve. If they don't you could be looking at another coaching change. 6. Franklin- How the mighty have fallen. A year ago they were playing for the region championship but this year they may be cellar dwellers.
  22. I inquired about him possibly going to Indy and some buddies said they were unaware. However they said they would not turn him down if he chose to attend. I am a little concerned this young man is going to be an upcoming junior and will be attending his 3rd high school. If I am a college recruiter that raises a couple of red flags.
  23. Here we go again. Centennial fans running their mouths after two SPRING games like they have made it to the state championship. Spring ball is very deceiving. Each team approaches it differently. Some teams use it to build depth, others use it just for starters. You don't win games in the spring. You win games in the fall. Centennial will finish no better than 3rd in this district. I say they lose to Brentwood and Hillsboro. If I was a coach in this district I would be concerned with Hillsboro. They have had the athletes for years and now they have a coach. Brentwood will continue to be Brentwood even with a new coach. If Indy can find some offense they will give Centennial trouble.
  24. Heard a rumor that the Franklin coach is out at the end of the season? Any truth to this? I will say I haven't been the biggest fan but he is having his best season at Franklin.
  25. I'll take Indy vs. Brentwood in the final. The Eagles have been playing some good baseball the last week and look for it to carry over. Coach Moore will have his guys ready to go. Unlike Centennial, Indy will be prepared for the bunt against Franklin.
