Having officiated I can honestly say that the official that I observed during the 130 pound match with Mosley and Bellet failed to stalemate the wrestlers for the entire 2nd period when neither wrestler could improve their position. Hence the reason Coach Frank Simpson was signaling a stalement during the 2nd period and questioned the official in the 3rd; which cost him a team point. That's the only example that I saw of questionable officiating during that dual!

I just received word that the BA and Ryan Dual has been cancelled due to the weather.

R I'm glad to see that Dylan will be eligible to wrestle at what I'm assuming will be 135.

Carlos finished 5-0 with 5 pins. There were some teams missing like Christian Brothers and several other teams. I believe Zeno Dupree finished 3-2 with a close match with Bellet of MBA. Maloney finished with 5 wins as well. For some reason the 130 Bellet and Carlos didn't meet although we wrestled MBA twice last week. MBA 1st BA 2nd Briarcrest 3rd

Yea. He's made a pretty big jump over last season.

Carlos plans to wrestle in college and currently has about half a dozen D1 schools in mind. All of which are outside of TN. He'll probably wrestle 135 to 145 this season given his current weight.

Is this a USA or AAU event? Wondering if an AAU or USA card is necessary?

CJ isn't wrestling in the Ohio T of C but as of this morning he weighed 139.2 lbs. I know a few other kids that have made some big jumps also.

I find it very hard to see why he would not wrestle. No matter, He's still the man to beat. I like the kid I hope he is healthy and without injury. Hey Carlos, we are heading up in that direction this weekend and wanted to see if you guys were off this weekend or at a tourney? Talk to Zeno and call me. We are actually heading to Memphis on Saturday for the Briarcrest Duals and we have Ryan tonight at home. I should talk to Zeno later today. I was wondering the same thing! Skip the Ryan, wrestle the Brentwood, Skip the dual against Ryan. Hard to imagine why he'd pass up wrestling Mosley given that he beat the Rickman kid from GA, that majored Mosley at the McCallie. Why do wrestlers avoid wrestling tough matches? Isn't that what the sports about. I suppose to keep that seeding or ranking, who knows. I don't anticipate we'll see that tomorrow at 119 when Ryan and BA face-off.

I've seen Blake wrestle from middle school through high school and find it hard to believe that he'd avoid a match-up. There has to have been a reasonable explanation as to why he didn't wrestle at the Ryan Tournament or the dual.

Carlos and Luke had wrestled really well all day long and in opinion the award would have gone to either young man having won that match. OW was awarded to the right young man. Thats not to take anything away from Nick. But certainly would have made things more interesting had he wrestled 119lb at Halls.
