  1. There are many great wrestler from this past year's efforts. However, the ones that can compete at a national level is the best and most accurate prediction of who is truly the most talented in and outside of the state of Tennessee: Cameron Croy - He will meet people in college that will not only match, but succeed his brutal strength. Stuart Doster - If all things go well for him, he will nip his 4th state title next year. Shines directly under national spotlight. Cole Hayes - 2 fractured ankles and a torn labrum and took 3rd? Enough said Zach Watson - The kid is more flexible than stretch Armstrong.... Tag his strength on there as well. Daniel Baucke - Well deserving of his OW award at the State. Great kid, great family Alex Johnson - Unbelievable work ethic, stamina, and discipline. Great way to find a win over hooker in fianls Zach Johnson - Unbelievable work ethic, stamina, and discipline. Outstanding career. Campbell Lewis - Can't wait to watch him in the future The Bradley Wrestling Team - WOW..... My award of the Most Talented Wrestler on AND OFF (sportsmanship and character included) the mat goes to................... Stuart Doster of Baylor Congratulations gentlemen. A wonderful year's wrestling is in the books
  2. With a year full of the wildest injuries, I'd expect that to be a correct final. Good luck to all teams and may everyone show their best class and represent the state of Tennessee well.
  3. Cole Hayes back at 135??? I heard he broke his ankle and tore a bunch of ligaments just a few weeks ago. Never can tell these days. Also a rumor of the Big Blue's Clements, Duncan, and Martino dropping a weight class to 140, 145, and 152? If that is true, Hooker would be going 135, and with a healthy Hayes.... Not sure thats the best idea. However, if Hayes is still injured (which he most likely is) then it should be one heck of a couple state finals matches.
  4. So the match is set for next Saturday evening around 7. There will be some changes to the Moc lineup as they prepare to battle against one of the elite wrestling programs in the nation. Anyone have a prediction of a possible lineup?
  5. This is an immature post, and a complete waste of time. Congrats to Craig for fighting hard in every match he wrestles, but there is no reason for you to get on here and act like a complete, arrogent, young, immature individual. The post was unecessary, and unworthy of its own topic. Have a nice day.
  6. The team count this year seems to have gone down. I figured there would be a larger turn out, but maybe thats just me?
  7. Yeah, that's kinda why I started this topic. Lets get a quick rundown of the possible lineup here? I would but I don't know enough about either of the teams. Just a fan of the in town rivalry Good luck to both teams
  8. Always a great dual to start off the high school wrestling season. My money's on Raiders this year as the match will be set on the grounds of the Baylor School (AKA: TBSFBAG). Jake Yost may have his guys fired up, and the Soddy fans always bring some of the best shows in the stands. Any predictions?
  9. Ok a few things wrong with this one: 125 - Alex Manley a major decision over Taylor Silberman? Ever heard of Jack Silberman? Yeah, his little brother. The kid has wrestled his whole life, and remember this match is in January. Not now. It wont take the Silbondo trained Taylor to get back into the swing of things and more than a couple weeks. He is extremely athletic and I am glasd to see him back out here. I am not a tornado fan, so we can throw that out of our minds, but the match interests me more than any other dual in the state; or the southeast for that matter (Maybe Collins Hill vs. Parkview a few years ago). 135 - Cole Hayes. Before I go any further, remember to think about the passion this kid has for wrestling. Especially since he captured mono just before his walk through state tournament bracket. The future OW at the state is back with vengeance this year. PIN 140 - I still think Doster Hooker is the most sensible matchup, but if I must throw it out there, Doster will use maturity and 2 state championships under his belt to (at the very minumin) squeak this decision out. 145 - Say Hooker does wrestle Stavrum............ Anywhere between a major dec. and a pin. 4,5, or 6 pts for the Blue 152 - Duncan is an outstanding wrestler with some of the most fierce aggression in every one of his matches. I've seen the kid wrestle since he was the star at the Hammerhouse program in GA. However Cate has increased his wrestling tactics tremendously, So unless TJ he gets some funky haircut (very possible) before the match, I don't see him pinning Baylor's young, but mature immproved Cate. 160 - Adam Shuford vs. Martino (GOOD CHOICE) Martino by major decision or fall. I'll give the blue 6 pts here.
  10. With Wrestle90 finally out of hibernation, what should we expect the matchup between the Red Raiders and the Blue Tornados to look like? I know its early but from the looks of things, McCallie seems to have wrestlers transferred and come back to the Blue side of the spectrum. Wrestle90, got a quick rundown for the matchup? Should be a fun matchup to watch, although its a ways away and there is tons of wrestling to be wrestled. 103: 112: 119: 125: 130: 135: 140: 145: 152: 160: 171: 189: 215: HWT:
  11. Congratulations to Jake. Thats great for a hometown boy to make that big step in the national spotlight as a true freshmen. Would it be a dumb question to ask why Cody Cleveland or Joey Knox weren't in this tourney? Or were the starters not entered in this?
  12. Waddell is still recovering from a shoulder surgery. He'll be back soon enough, as he is rehabbing his shoulder back to full strength. I can guaruntee he wont be as skinny as he was last year.
  13. Ooltawah will be down this year. Not too bad, but they lost a lot of talent as well as leadership with the loss of Jake Young and Cody Hood, due to graduation. The young talent of Ooltawah will need to step up and improve as much as possible to comptete. February is a long way away though, so anything could happen.
  14. The past is the past. Have you seen Chase Martino lately? He's beginning to look more and more like his old man. If he cut a little fat off, he'd out-man anyone in his weight.
  15. After years of watching this Dual (Baylor McCallie) with Connell against Jim Morgan and Shaack V, I have yet to see Baylor shift guys around in their line-up. Baylor's lineup is the same throughout the year-unless someone is injured or sick of course. However McCallie ALWAYS tends to move people around for this dual. Sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst. Now, with all that being said, seen, and known I predict the following: 140: Doster vs. Hooker 145: Stavrum vs Clements Only seems like the smartest thing to do.
  16. Not sure why this thread turned into a Baylor McCallie matchup dual, but since we're in the midst of predictions..... I wonder what Connell will do with Clements and Hooker when it comes time for a head to head dual with the Red Raiders.
  17. I'm not entirely sure why Chase Martino would be overlooked for this upcoming year. Martino has shown ample amounts of improvement, and now that Justin Cash of BA is out of the way, there is a beam of light shining down on Martino's face. I predict a state champion at 152 lbs (if he can get down) will be straight from the blue wrestling room ==> Chase Martino. Duncan and Hooker probably wont have much competition this year, as many young wrestlers will most likely drop or go up a weight class. They are a tough duo, and #### Martino in the mix. Sounds like a strong couple of leaders.
  18. Congratulations on getting a team started up in Knoxville THEANIMAL. Keep us posted on how they are doing and if it is actually up and running. I know they've tried over and over to attempt to jumpstart this program. Who will be running the practices up there and how many guys would you say are currently enrolled in this program (although I know its growing)??
  19. There's a strong possibility that the ridge rats from McCallie will be tough to beat this year. They may not have the outstanding individuals that stand above everyone else, but they look to have a pretty darn good dual team. Its hard to tell where to put them in comparison to Baylor, but I'd put them in a close 2nd place in the state if not a hair above them. Good Luck to all the Tennessee wrestlers this year.
  20. Since my last topic seemd to draw all sorts of interet, I'd like to take a quick survey in order to capture everyone's thoughts. Ok here is is: Next Year........ - D-I state champions on the D-I dual team. - D-II state champions on the D-II dual team. The state champions will have a dual against each other the week after the state tournament ends. Winners have bragging rights: thoughts.................
  21. Something that has been beat to a pulp, and shall be moved on from. Hooker beat Doster at the Baylor vs McCallie dual. Doster beat Hooker in the state finals. End of season, and I'm sure those two young talented wrestlers will wrestle again in the future. Great season to the both of them, and good luck in the future - I see a rivalry stirring
  22. I'm am looking to find some sort of Freestyle tournaments here in this off-season. If anyone could tell me where to find a schedule of perhaps name a few off, it'd be great.
  23. Well 2blLeg, its ok for people to be biased towards his/her favorite division. However, my take on it was Teamwise, Bradley and Baylor were by far the best two teams (despite Ryan's victory in the traditional) in the state of Tennessee. But behind Bradley in D-I.... who was that great? Soddy had a down year... it just seemed like there were various mediocre teams, and Bradley skyrcketed above the rest. As far as individuals go, I truly believe (although D-I has a more variety of tough wrestlers than D-II) D-II seemed to have the BETTER wrestler in most of the weight classes. There is my unbiased opinion.
  24. Well I do apologize for that W-90. An ammature mistake on my part. Hopefully the CONNELLS will forgive me. Great season for ya'll. I look forward to watching the progress of your young, talented tornados throughout the next couple years.
  25. It simply means that there is to be no instruction, no teaching, no coaching, etc. during this period. Facilities are not to be open to the students, and there is to be no contact between coaches and the student-athletes. Students may only lift weights/conditioning on their own time as long as they are not being coached. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe it is June 21st - July 4th this summer.
