  1. Harpeth has Cheatham this week, hard to believe we have played 4 district games and already feel like we neeed to win out in order to compete. I'm not sure if Jekyl or Hyde will show up today, we have played so well at times, and equally bad at others. The team chemistry seems to come and go, depending on the effort. We are capable of beating any team inthe district, but also capable of getting run ruled by MC. Hopefully we can settle down and do work for the balance of the season. What is up with 4 out of 7 teams in the district not supporting a JV program? Where do they expect to get next years starters from? It really hurts your program not to have the JV team engaged and getting playing time, most of these kids are nowhere near ready to play varsity and desperately need playing time. I think it is pretty short sighted to take a year off from JV. Hopefully we can get a big win tonight and get back on track to finish the season strong!
  2. Harpeth beats Camden last night 6-2, Presley gave up a two run shot in the first and then shut them down. Indidans are playing well right now with several quality wins, SYcamore and Rossview to name a few. We head to Camden tonight to finish our series, hoping to stay on a roll.
  3. Harpeth split over the weekend, lost to Siegel, 4-3 in extra innings beat East Robertson 12-10 in a sloppy game on our part. Too many errors and unearned runs to be very competitive at this point of the season.
  4. Thanks, we bought it from Southern Athletic
  5. Our program is looking to invest in a tarp, having never bought one before can anyone give me some advice on who is best to buy from, and who not to buy from. We are looking for 170x170, and would like to get a better quality tarp. Any suggestions would be appreciate.
  6. Congrats to the Cubs on a great season, wish you the best next year. The better the rest of the District gets, the better our chances of getting to the next level. Harpeth should be good as well next year, we lose quite a bit this year, but we always seem to reload. Point guard is the biggest question for us, some younger guys need to step up and get a lot better. We do have some rising Juniors that will be a factor to compliment the Senior class. If Hurt continues to improve look for him to be one of the best in the District. But for now....IT"S BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!!! My favorite time of the year, and the Indians are LOADED
  7. How did you guys do Coach? How good is Rossview?
  8. Harpeth played Springfield on Saturday at their place, not sure what the final was, 17-3 I think, we played an extended game. Some real bright spots for the first time on the field. Also plenty of stuff to work on, it was good to get the first game jitters out of their system. Saw some good pitching from the Indians, batting production with runners in scoring position was not good early. All in all I was pleased with the effort and I think the Coaches were too. We have Rossview next on Saturday for our home opener. Hopefully we can get a few days on the field this week to get in some real practice. The lighting project is complete at the Rock, and I would say everyone will be impressed. Lots of hard work been going on during the preseason. Looking forward to a great year!!!
  9. Well the work at the Rock is complete, we successfully changed every light on the field this week. Happy sight to get the 128 ft lift off the field with minimal damage to the playing surface. We are finally set to play our first game Saturday, if it doesn't rain, sleet, snow, or other precipitation. The team had a great practice yesterday, going late and loving it. The players anyway, quite a few freshman parents getting introduced to High School baseball. This ain't Little League where Johnny practices from 6-7:30. You practice when you can for as long as you can, and maintain the effort and intensity. Good luck to all this weekend! Who else is playing?
  10. Not Harpeth, it is still too wet......
  11. I guess Cheatham can go buy their own hardware to hang that says regular season champs, go ahead and get one for every win this year and fill up your trophy case. Our District Championship is already on display at Harpeth. Cheatham had a great season, I'm not taking that away from them. They also are loaded for next year and have a lot to look forward to. Harpeth peaked at the right time and played three of the best games of the season at the tourney. The real tests begin now and I hope both teams and all of 11AA does well. We are through beating each other up for a week, lets concentrate on the next level.
  12. Can we please have just one week with no precipitation! I'm not sure our field is ever going to dry out. This time of the year is so difficult to get anything done, another reason to do away with the open facilities period. If we had two months of preseason practice we would be lucky to get on the field 20 days. With the current restrictions, official practice beiginning Monday, we have been on the field one day this week. It's crazy to me that you have kids that don't play other sports and want to get better but Coaches have their hands tied till the 13th. Can someone pleae tell me the rationale for this?????
  13. Looks like we are going to have start checking ID's, come on guys enough of the childish banter. Lets just play the games and see what happens. I'm pretty sure we are not going to strike fear into or opponents hearts by trash talking behind screen names.
  14. I would add Bryce Baker to the Harpeth list. Seems to have a good attitude going in to this season, hits for average and power.

Can anyone tell me anything about the Easton S-1, my son has his eye on one. Don't want to spend the money without some research.
  16. Well the stage is set for the big showdown, Cheatham brings their perfect district record to Harpeth on Friday night. This should be a great contest in front of a great crowd. Harpeth has to put together back to back games where we show up ready to play. We have been so good at times this season, and so bad at others. Just depends on which team shows up, how competitive we will be. Looks like Cheatham has been the class of the district with no letdown games in district play. Should make for an interesting game....
  17. What is the schedule for this week? I know we have Mont. Central and Cheatham. What does everybody else have? Looking forward to a great basketball atmosphere Friday night. Should be a good game if we show up to play. After watching the Camden game on Friday we looked really good. I didn't go to the Sycamore, not sure what the deal was there. We can't seem to put two games together.
  18. More like real baseball...those shots thru the middle of the infield will be fielded for outs if you got wheels in the middle. I am excited as well, except for spending 400 on a new bat.
  19. We are 3 weeks away from playing baseball, of course with this crazy winter it will probably be freezing and snow on the ground starting about then. How is everyone looking, where will your team be at the end of the season. Also interested in who some of the studa are that are returning. Harpeth should be good if we play to our potential, of course I said that last year too. I am really looking forward to the new era with Coach Walls. He has certainly raised the bar for the kids in what his expectations are. The big question is will they buy in, or will they settle for less. Let's get it started but keep it clean please.
  20. I too was shocked by those scores, anybody on here from Stewart Cty care to weigh in. I thought maybe they had some players out or something. Harpeth is playing well right now but I didn't expect that. I hope the blowout doesn't hurt us as we have Creekwood Friday and I know they will be tough. I know any team in this district is capable of having a great night or an off night, that's part of dealing with young kids. Seems to me that emotion or momentum is way too much of the game nowadays. Even in the SEC you see teams mail it in on the road and play their guts out at home. Consistency can be lacking at times, and it should not be for a well disciplined team.
  21. Does anybody know if games are canceled for tonight because of being out of school. I think Cheatham County policy prohibits athletic events on any day that we are out of school due to inclement weather. I understand this rule, but the South end of the county is all clear.
  22. Apology accepted. I am as puzzled as you as to how and why he has come back after a long hibernation and have asked KS and others who he is. Nobody seems to know down here. I utilize this site to keep informed and promote my own team. At no time will you catch me being negative to others in a personal way. I hope everyone is as passionate as I am about their own teams, its what makes HS sports the best to watch. Knowing the kids on the field brings you and I in to the game in a very big way. Not just my own kid all of them. Heck I even like a lot of the kids on the opposing teams as I've get to know them over the years. I dread the day when my son graduates and I know longer have that connection to the program, it just won't be the same. Looking forward to the rest of the season, maybe not East Lit and Dickson so much Friday and Saturday. Both of those opponenets are going to be tough for us to match up with. If nothing else it should get us some taste of what tourney play will be like and I hope our kids will do well. I pull for Harpeth win or lose, always have always will. As for the Coaches, having been one before, you will never please every parent or player. There is alwways a conspiracy theorist out there that thinks his kid isn't getting his due time. As soon as you solve that situation another pops up. I have always said that I believe Coaches play to win, they put the guys out to accomplish that goal.I may not always believe they are right in their choices but its their decision to make and I try my best to refrain from armchair QB status. These guys have a tough enough job withour adding Momma-Drama. Good Luck to all of the District for the balance of the year. GO HARPETH
  23. For the last time howdoitknow2 I do not appreciate credit for posts I am not responsible for. Go back and read my posts, I have said absolutely nothing derogatory about Cheatham. I pull for Harpeth because my son plays there and I know most of the kids. I am not familiar with this other guy nor his posts, and I am not about to let you or anyone else muddy my name. I sent you a private email earlier this week and gave you my cell number to clear this up. You haven't taken me up on that. Do you want the truth or are you content to sit back and cast lies.
  24. Don't know any Conman but its whatever, ask around most people who know Harpeth baseball know who I am, or email me and I will take off the mask. You did win football, and round one in basketball. We will see how the rest plays out, if you will go back and read my posts you will see that I don't whine, when we get beat it is always because the other team scored more points. It really doesn't matter how or why. Kinda like golf, there ain't enough room on the card for a narrative, just put down the score. Looking forward to competitive games and spirited rivalry, that is always what makes High school sports so much fun. See you soon.
  25. Coachcutt is the only name I have ever used, don't have any idea who you have me confused with. Sorry for the disappointment, don't care anything about soccer. Never played it or watched it growing up in MS it wasn't real big. Address the post not the poster, should we expect the dynasty has begun at Cheatham? Just doesn't appear to be so in wrestling and I can't wait for baseball season. Thats the only two sports I am heavily involved in, see you guys soon. By the way, I would have been at the game had I not been at duck club, trying to tune in on laptop. I did find it on WQSV and listened in, don't know that we were flat but obviously Cheatham played very well. Sounded like we got caught trying to play their game instead of ours. We will see how the next round goes....
