  1. If Ravenwood can throw strikes and play defense like they usually do, this thursday vs. Siegel will be a much better game. Ravenwood's #1 starter was very off on Sunday and couldn't throw strikes consistently to save his life, and every time he came in the strike zone it was served up on a platter. I was very surprised at how he did, because he's usually at the knees with very few location mistakes. Looking forward to this thursday for a great game.
  2. I'm not saying a 410+ shot isn't good by any means, I'm just saying the pitcher Brentwood faced wasn't all too good. Those are some good stats though; who else have y'all played besides Father Ryan?
  3. When did I ever say Ravenwood scored 18? As for the intensity, any team should treat any game as if it's their last. Most of the runs scored against BA while the varsity was in came off of their starter and Lepere.
  4. If it was off that big kid father ryan has woopdie doo
  5. Your argument might be relevant if you wouldn't have forgotten about BA losing Jacobs and Jones. Jacobs was all-state and Jones went to lipscomb to play. Ravenwood lost 3 seniors, one that barely played. Carter and Parsley were great, but players will fill their roles as Ravenwood gained a lot last year in experience. Ravenwood has a better pitching staff this year as well.
  6. How is BA in a higher class than any of these teams? They got spanked by Ravenwood in the preseason.
  7. Father Ryan did not play them tough; the game was something like 9-3 after the starters were pulled in the scrimmage. Siegel and Ravenwood scrimmaged on thursday and it was close, something like 13-12 (not sure who won) when the starters were pulled.

    Siegel

The scrimmage showed that both teams are going to do pretty well this year. Ravenwood was pulling away until Siegel busted out their whompin' sticks and started hitting bombs. The game was tied or close to it once the starters came out. What did Siegel fans think of Ravenwood?
  9. It was a one sided scrimmage until both teams pulled there starters...the one freshman who pitched vs. Ravenwood's varsity was better than the other pitchers for FR. But pitching is only one part of the game. Where was Father Ryan's defense and offense for that scrimmage? It seemed nonexistent to me...
  10. Newsflash for those who think Father Ryan is one of the top teams in Mid. Tn. They have a LONG way to go before they reach the caliber of the top teams in Mid. Tn. Just saw them scrimmage against Ravenwood and while Ravenwood looked good, Father Ryan didn't show much. At all.
  11. If people overlook Ravenwood they will be in for a long game. They aren't dominating, but they play the game the right way and now that they have experience the team knows how to win big games. Ravenwood's strength should be its pitching and defense this year.

    Opening Day

Ravenwood vs. Mt. Juliet should be a good game
  13. BA and Ravenwood scrimmage Saturday at 11 am at Ravenwood. What're everyones thoughts on these two teams and how do you think the scrimmage will go?
  14. I agree totally with vols. Baseball is a very, very unpredictable sport, and preseason predictions and rankings count for absolute squat. I think that what it really takes for a baseball team to be successful consists of three things: coaching, playing the game the right way (doing the little things), and team chemistry. Team chemistry, I believe, can help teams rise above more talented teams, and with most of the teams in the district being close to each other in talent-not to mention the great coaching in 11AAA-a good team chemistry will take an 11AAA team a long, long way. With the first week of practice being underway, I wish every team good health, success, and most of all, to enjoy the best sport in the world.
