  1. We've heard "why isn't Oakland being mentioned" on other boards? Now you have your own thread. Have at it! FYI - I know several of the Oakland players and have nothing but respect for them. Good luck this year. And yes, I like the over the concession stand seats and will fight to use them! LOL!

    1) The Mick is right - this is a Siegel thread. Start one for Oakland and we can talk there. 2) When these seniors were younger, Siegel dominated the conference. Why not the "HYPE"? 3) May be there is no interest in your team? Question to Oakland - are you going to ban fans again this year from sitting in the overhead bleachers that we, as Rutherford County taxpayers, paid for? I remember verry well the money that was given to Oakland to "upgrade the facilities" i.e. add the seats over the concession stand because Murfreesboro wanted to have nice facilities for Spring Fling. Now you ban opposing teams from sitting in it by saying that it is "reserved seating". That ain't right...

Hey Boroman4now - how should I take your first line? The question was asked - don't I have a right to answer and answer accurately (this is a message board for opinions, right)? Didn't mean to come off as a know-it-all but have limited knowledge on this and thought I'd share it. Did I give the wrong information - is it inacurate? Now, I've thought about the lineup and agree with you on some fronts. MY THOUGHTS ONLY - Neil was playing 3rd some last couple of practices, Schloss and Fullerton were getting reps in the outfield. Question is how does Neil and his knees work at 3rd? If ok, then can you move Fullerton to the outfield till Schaffer gets out of rehab (after Schloss comes back)? I still think that Fullerton and Pearson will need to hit better to stay in the lineup - not a slam on them but it is a big step to Varsity. They both are comming around well - Pearson hit one out Thursday night and Fullerton had several clutch hits with runners in scoring position - and he can make you pay if you bobble the ball whith that speed! David looks good behind the plate but may have problems catching Watson so I'd give Prather the nod there. The rest you listed are looking good. This delima will all will be answered this week and boy it will be fun to watch! I'm depressed that I can't make the game today. I'll see if my "contacts" can keep me up on the skinny! Good luck Stars!

Sorry to any Siegel fans that I've offended - just being honest with my thoughts. You're right - Coach Reavis has quite a problem but it is a good one! Two deep at several positions if not all 9 is a good thing! I'm going to watch this one unfold and enjoy... "Right here Right now"

Right now there isn't a whole lot of them boys making the trip to Columbia tomorrow is the latest rumor I've heard out on Thompson Lane. No 1st baseman, CF, RF, catcher, and ACE pitcher for various reasons - some of suspensions are longer than others. Siegel needs to get in the news with their on field playing not their off field antics! My guess for tomorrows game is: c - Kosinski (Prather suspension) 1B - Holman or Pack (Bartlett suspension) 2B - Dove SS - Fullerton (Sloss suspension) 3B - Pearson (Sloss susp. or Robinson susp/injury) LF - King (by way of Taylor susp and Schaffer injury) CF - Moore (Taylor susp) RF - Maddox (Schaffer injury) P - Sims (Watson susp) I've heard not all are big problems - Watson was sick and didn't turn in some assignments, others are one game "attitude adjustments" and others are more severe. We will need to get all healthy and on track then worry about permanent starting rolls. After all the injuries and suspensions are through, I'd guess the young guys may sit - Kosinski, Pearson, and Fullerton. It's a shame - they all could log plenty of playing time at other District schools! Good luck tomorrow!
  6. Change subject - do you play today (Sat) and is Oakland playing today?
  7. Overrated? He signed last week with Ga Tech - #7 pre season ranking! They seem to think very highly of him... I'd respect him if I were you or he might just make you pay. Good kid and comes from a great family. He's not a chest thumping dude - quiet but gets the job done without flash. "Right here, Right now"

Ravenwood looked strong with upper classman starters? They hit well in situations and also had a bomb hit out. The wind was terrible for pitchers and the fielders were seeing problems with it too. Ravenwoods first pitcher looked good but not unhittable. Both teams had some early season errors. 9. Yes, it does. No, I don't know what he was trying to say - I don't speak authentic East Tennessee jibberish! Was he trying to bash siegel or Watson? Since you're the message board police, why don't you enlighten us? I've said good things about the Farragut team on other forums and have nothing but respect for your program. It would be nice to know that you have the same respect for other teams in the state.
  10. Can you please use some punctuation? (a period or comma if you don't know what that $10 word means) I hope you're not comming on here calling high school players names - scrub was it? If so, then I would at least try to spell, punctuate a sentence, and seem somewhat smart enough to get the people you are trying to bash a clue that you know what you are talking about! Correct, but Watson is...

First, thanks for the complement. Now, no jelly legs from us or no head games being played. My point was this - don't give any team a reason to be looking to show you up - they just might! Farragut is a good program at this point in time - returning State champs. Don't talk the talk until you prove yourself.

No, Packmanintheboro, you are not to blame. Nore are the ones with errors in the field or the ones not hitting. THE TEAM lost. We all make mistakes and I heard you did well on the hill. Baseball is a team sport and the best part is you have another scrimage this weekend. Look inside, correct your mistakes, and you will be a better player for it. You can take this attitude toward your life also - we are not judged by how many times we fall, but to how we react to the fall and how we get back up. Now, with that said, don't give Farragut any more bulletenbord material!!!!!!! LOL - please? "Right here, Right now"

Packmanintheboro - please don't give Farragut any more reason to stomp Siegel again! They are a great team and will be back to the spring fling again this year. Middle Tennessee teams are not on their level - yet. You could take Farragut to East Cobb and get to the last day with them - Siegel would be doing well to win their pool. Good rec ball players vs. good travel ball players is my take on the Siegel -Farragut talent. Sorry, not a basher but calling them as I see it.
  14. I can't believe that I'm not hearing good things about D-bird = Dillian Golden. Was he there? What about Drew Allen of Overton? Mookie Betts of Overton - was he in basketball? How did Landon Snyder do?

Not saying that he is a superstar or they will need to move over but the best 9 on the field is what you shoot for as a coach. Just giving another option that hasn't been discussed. Fullerton will probably stay in the infield unless injuries hit Siegel hard. And yes, he is that fast along with too many others to mention on that team including Duval. Michael gets a good jump on the ball. Siegel should steal many bases this year! "Right here, Right now"
  16. Jake is good but not proven. If you are looking for up and comming mid infielders who have not yet played/proven themselves, then my vote is Mookie Betts from Overton, Tyler Fullerton from siegel, and Alex Von Dolen from Blackman - all played with Jake in summer ball. All four of these have their strengths. Best in the mid state? Sam Dove - going to GT or Auburn. "Right here, Right now"

You are correct! What do you do? Great problem to have! Pearson and Fullerton are both Soph so they have less experience but can and will contribute. Moore contributed when he was a Frosh and so did Shafer. Cory had a pulled hammie last season or he would be even more seasoned. C. Taylor is no second teamer either - he can hit, run and pitch - good arm strength. Duval is nursing an arm problem and may or may not be 100%. I expect that it will be who brings the bat to the park - not homers but on base %. Coach likes opo hitters so that will play into it. Like I've said, it's a nice position for him to have. We won't know what lineup we'll face when we go to Siegel!

Game started out with Pearson @ 3rd, Fullerton @ SS, Dove @ 2nd, Bartlet @1st, Kosinski @C, OF was Moore, C.Taylor, and Sims LF,CF,RF. Pearson did well as all did. Big question is how will Coach R. get the tallent he has on the field? Sloss needs to play for his bat as well as Pearson. If those two play, then Fullerton sits - he can hit and has SICK speed - 6.6 60yd times. He is on 2nd if you bobble the ball. Probably need to move him to OF where he can run. This puts a kink on the JR dominated playing time in the OF. Parents need to realize that this is tough for Coach R. to sort through. It is a dream situation for a coach and we all need to sit back and watch that dog hunt! "Right here, Right now"
